The Galaxy A57 5G is the stronger pick if you want Samsung’s higher-tier processor, a higher-resolution ultrawide camera and a thinner, lighter build. The Galaxy A37 5G is the more sensible choice if it costs meaningfully less where you live: it shares the A57’s 6.7-inch, 120Hz display size, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, IP68 rating and stated software-support commitment. The differences that matter most are the processor, ultrawide camera, body and local price—not the shared headline specifications.

Samsung’s US comparison confirms the shared display, camera, battery and charging specifications; processor and configuration figures above come from Samsung Ireland, where lineups may differ from those sold elsewhere. Check the Samsung listing for your country before choosing a specific RAM or storage tier. Samsung Ireland’s comparison and Samsung US’s comparison show the regional specifications.
What actually differs between the phones?
Processor and configurations
Samsung Ireland lists an Exynos 1680 in the A57 and an Exynos 1480 in the A37, making the A57 the higher-tier option on paper. That does not establish how much faster it feels in everyday use: Samsung’s published specifications do not provide a controlled A57-versus-A37 benchmark. The Ireland lineup also offers higher maximum RAM and storage tiers for the A57, but those configurations should not be assumed available in every market.

Ultrawide camera
The A57 has a 12MP ultrawide camera, compared with 8MP on the A37. Both phones also have a 50MP main camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 12MP front camera. The higher ultrawide resolution is a specification advantage, not proof that photos will look proportionally better; Samsung’s published specifications do not include a controlled comparison of image quality between these models. Samsung’s A57 specifications and A37 specifications list the camera resolutions.

Display labeling and body
Both screens measure 6.7 inches, have FHD+ resolution and support refresh rates up to 120Hz. Samsung calls the A57 panel Super AMOLED Plus and the A37 panel Super AMOLED; the shared size and refresh ceiling do not make the panel labels interchangeable. The A57 is also 0.5mm thinner and 17g lighter than the A37 using Samsung Ireland’s figures. That is a concrete handling difference, though the overall comfort will depend on the user and case.
What both phones have in common
Battery and charging
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery capacity and wired charging up to 45W for both phones, with wireless charging unsupported. Samsung notes that the battery’s rated minimum is 4,905mAh and that actual battery life varies. Shared capacity and charging limits do not establish equal real-world runtime or charging times. Check local box contents before buying a separate charger; Samsung lists a 45W Super Fast Charger 2.0, but the material reviewed does not establish what is included with every regional package.

Software and AI features
Samsung announced both phones with Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Its listed shared experiences include Voice Transcription, AI Select, Object Eraser, Circle to Search, Bixby and Gemini; Best Face and Auto Trim are identified as A57 additions. Availability can depend on country, model, carrier and software version, and some functions may require a Samsung account. AI-generated or assisted results are not guaranteed to be accurate. Samsung’s launch announcement describes the devices and experiences.
Updates and water resistance
Samsung advertises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for both models; check the terms applying to the model and market you plan to buy. Both are rated IP68. Samsung qualifies that rating with laboratory testing in fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes. The rating is not a promise of permanent resistance, and Samsung says resistance can diminish with normal wear; it is not a recommendation for beach or pool use. Samsung’s US release gives the update and IP68 qualifications.

Which Galaxy phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if
- You want the higher-tier processor listed for the Ireland market and prefer the A57’s stronger specifications on paper.
- You use the ultrawide camera and want its higher stated resolution, while understanding that resolution alone does not predict the photo-quality gap.
- You value a thinner, lighter phone or need a higher RAM or storage tier that is available in your region.
- The A57’s local price premium is acceptable for those differences.
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if
- It is meaningfully cheaper in your market and you mainly want the shared essentials: a large 120Hz display, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh typical battery, 45W wired charging and Samsung’s stated support commitment.
- You do not need the A57’s higher-resolution ultrawide camera, thinner body or higher listed processor tier.
- The RAM and storage configuration available locally meets your needs.
Samsung announced both models on March 25, 2026, with availability in select markets beginning April 10, 2026; those dates do not establish availability in every country. Samsung does not publish one current global price, so compare the two phones at the same retailer or carrier in your market, with matching storage and sales terms. The A37’s value advantage depends on that actual price gap, not a universal price claim. Samsung’s announcement describes the select-market rollout.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the specifications cannot tell you
The published material reviewed for these models does not establish a controlled A57-versus-A37 camera image-quality test, processor benchmark or battery-endurance result. Therefore, the processor names, megapixel counts and battery capacities support a specification-based choice, but not a claim that one phone is a particular percentage faster, takes better photos in every situation or lasts longer per charge. If those outcomes are decisive, seek independent testing of the exact regional models before buying.
