The Galaxy A56 is the more straightforward pick if you value Samsung’s longer stated Android-upgrade commitment or want a listed ultrawide rear camera. The OnePlus Nord 6 stands out on paper for its 165Hz display, larger stated battery and higher advertised charging wattage. Neither set of specifications proves which phone performs, photographs or lasts longer in everyday use.
Prices in the available comparisons are India-facing, but they do not establish a reliable current price gap. Treat India as the market for the pricing discussion below and compare live offers for the same storage variant before deciding.

Which phone has the better display and performance?
Refresh rate and panel
The A56 has a listed 120Hz Super AMOLED display, while OnePlus advertises a 165Hz AMOLED panel for the Nord 6. A higher refresh-rate figure can be appealing for supported content and motion, but it does not by itself establish brightness, color accuracy, responsiveness in every app or overall display quality. Those require comparable testing.

Chipset and gaming
Samsung specifies the A56’s Exynos 1580. OnePlus identifies the Nord 6 processor as Snapdragon 8 Series, but the exact full chipset name is not established in the official-page extract used here. Check the specifications for the exact local model before relying on a chipset comparison.
OnePlus markets “Segment’s first steady-smooth 165 FPS PUBG gaming for a cool hour.” Its claim is based on a 12GB Nord 6 using Pro Gamer mode and Adaptive Frame Booster, specified graphics settings, 280-nit display brightness and specified volume. It is a manufacturer test claim, not an independent result or a guarantee that every game, configuration or session will sustain that frame rate.
How do battery and charging compare?
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging for the A56; OnePlus advertises 7,500mAh and 80W for the Nord 6. These are stated capacity and maximum advertised charging figures, not independently measured battery endurance or charging times. OnePlus also claims “7500 mAh for 2.5+ days of power”; actual runtime depends on use and conditions, so treat that as a manufacturer claim rather than a universal expectation.
Before buying, confirm the regional phone variant, compatible adapter and package contents. A charger’s wattage alone does not establish that it will deliver either phone’s advertised maximum charging rate.

- The included 25W Fast Charger is a generic accessory and is not a Samsung-branded charger, 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 1080x2340px, Fingerprint (under display, optical), IP67 dust and water resistance

Which phone has the more useful cameras?
The A56 has a specified three-camera rear setup: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro, plus a 12MP front camera. OnePlus advertises a 50MP Sony main camera with dual-axis OIS and a 32MP front camera for the Nord 6, as well as 4K 60 FPS video. The available specifications do not establish a full Nord 6 rear-camera array to compare with Samsung’s, so do not assume that an unlisted camera is absent.
Megapixel counts, stabilization labels and video modes describe hardware or advertised features; they do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. That judgment needs comparable camera testing.
What do the water-resistance ratings mean?
Samsung lists IP67 for the A56. OnePlus advertises IP66/68/69/69K for the Nord 6. These are different ratings, not interchangeable promises of identical protection. Do not treat a rating alone as a reason to immerse a phone; check the manufacturer’s terms and the intended market’s product documentation.

What is the price difference in India?
The India-facing comparison listings available for these models disagree on the Galaxy A56 price and do not establish that the quoted phones share the same storage configuration, offer terms or listing date. One listing showed ₹34,999 for the A56 and ₹46,999 for the Nord 6, but those figures are not a dependable current price difference and should not be treated as a like-for-like quote.
For a useful comparison, check current India listings on the same date for matching RAM and storage tiers. Compare the final price after discounts and account for seller warranty; calculate the gap only from those comparable offers. Without that check, the evidence does not support naming a current-price winner.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A56 if Samsung’s longer stated Android and One UI upgrade count matters to you, or you specifically want a listed ultrawide rear camera.
- Consider the Nord 6 if its advertised 165Hz refresh rate, larger stated battery, higher charging wattage or gaming features match your priorities. Those figures and OnePlus’s test claims do not prove better sustained performance or longer real-world battery life.
- Let price decide only after checking current offers for the same market and storage tier. The available listings do not establish a stable price gap.
A definitive winner for performance, display quality, camera results or endurance would require independent, comparable testing; the specifications alone do not settle those questions.
