The Galaxy A57 has a slightly larger display than the Galaxy A55, but it is not an across-the-board specification upgrade: Samsung lists a lower-resolution front camera, while both phones share the same stated rear-camera resolution setup. The A55 has documented microSD support up to 1TB. Samsung’s U.S. A57 prices are available, but a current, like-for-like A55 price is not established here, so there is no reliable price difference to quote.
Samsung Galaxy A55 vs A57 specifications
These figures come from Samsung’s product specification pages: the A55 page is for the UK model, while the A57 page is also for the UK model. Specifications, storage configurations, and network bands can vary by market.

What the specification differences mean
The A57 screen is slightly larger
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch display for the A57 and a 6.6-inch display for the A55. Both are specified with FHD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz. The A57’s “Super AMOLED Plus” label and larger size do not, on their own, establish better brightness, color, or outdoor visibility; those require comparable measurements or testing.

Rear camera megapixels match, but image quality is not settled
Both models have the same listed rear-camera resolution arrangement: 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro. Samsung also lists optical image stabilization (OIS) for each main rear camera. Matching specifications do not prove that photos or video look the same: processing, lenses, and shooting conditions matter.
The A55 lists a higher-resolution selfie camera
Samsung lists a 32MP front camera on the A55 and a 12MP front camera on the A57. Megapixel count alone does not determine selfie quality, so this difference is not enough to declare the A55’s camera better.

Expandable storage is a documented A55 advantage
Samsung specifies microSD support up to 1TB for the A55. The cited A57 specification page does not state microSD support, so buyers should not assume that the A57 offers it. If removable storage is important, confirm the exact regional A57 model before buying.

A comparable current A55 price was not established, so these figures cannot support a precise A55-versus-A57 price difference. Prices vary by country, storage tier, seller, and promotion. To compare them fairly, check both phones on the same date and in the same market, match storage where possible, and compare unlocked prices with unlocked prices or carrier offers with carrier offers. Show any trade-in requirement separately from the advertised price.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the A55 if: microSD expansion up to 1TB is a priority, or its 32MP listed front-camera resolution better fits your preferences. The resolution figure alone is not a guarantee of better selfies.
- Consider the A57 if: you prefer the slightly larger 6.7-inch display or are buying a new phone and its current local price and configuration suit you. The cited U.S. Samsung page says a charger is not included.
- Compare current offers before deciding: the available prices here do not establish a same-market, same-storage A55/A57 price gap. Check local pricing, storage, and supported network bands for the exact variants you are considering.
Official specifications do not establish which phone is faster in use, lasts longer on a charge, or takes better photos. Those questions need comparable real-world testing; the spec sheet alone does not identify an overall winner or establish whether an A55 owner should upgrade.
