The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the better-supported choice on paper: Samsung documents its 120Hz AMOLED display, IP67 rating and six-year security-update commitment. OnePlus’s India launch communications position the Nord 6 as a performance-focused alternative with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and 9,000mAh battery. The Nord’s listed specifications look stronger in several areas, but most detailed comparisons and its India price snapshots come from third parties, so confirm the exact model and current local listing before buying.
Galaxy A36 vs Nord 6: key specifications
The comparison is clearest when official Samsung specifications are separated from Nord 6 figures reported by a third-party comparison listing. OnePlus India launch communications corroborate the Nord’s processor and battery claims, but not every specification below.
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy A36 5G | OnePlus Nord 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 1080 × 2340, up to 120Hz (Samsung) | 6.78-inch, 1.5K (1272 × 2772), 165Hz (third-party listing) |
| Processor | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (Samsung) | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (OnePlus India launch communications) |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro (Samsung) | 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide (third-party listing) |
| Front camera | 12MP (Samsung) | 32MP (third-party listing) |
| Battery capacity | 5,000mAh typical; 4,905mAh rated minimum (Samsung) | 9,000mAh (OnePlus India launch communications) |
| Charging | 45W fast charging (Samsung materials) | 80W (third-party listing) |
| Dust and water resistance | IP67 (Samsung) | IP69K (third-party listing; confirm in official local documentation) |
| Software at launch | Android 15 with One UI 7 (Samsung) | Android 16 (third-party listing) |
| Weight | 195g (Samsung) | 217g (third-party listing) |
Samsung notes that specifications can vary by market. Nord 6 figures from third-party listings should likewise be treated as provisional until checked against OnePlus documentation for the buyer’s region. Refresh rate, megapixels and battery capacity are specifications, not proof of real-world smoothness, photo quality or endurance.
Which phone has the better performance and display?
Nord 6: higher listed refresh rate and newer processor
The Nord 6 is listed with a 165Hz display and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while OnePlus India’s launch communications also cite that processor. Those figures make it the more performance-oriented option on paper. No benchmark or hands-on results are established here, so they do not quantify how much faster it feels in games or everyday tasks.

Galaxy A36: documented 120Hz AMOLED screen
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. That is a clearly documented feature set, though the Nord’s listed 1.5K resolution is higher on paper. A higher resolution or refresh-rate figure alone does not establish which screen looks better or performs more consistently.
How do the cameras compare?
The Galaxy A36 has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro camera. The Nord 6 listing describes a 50MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide, plus a 32MP front camera; Samsung lists a 12MP front camera. These are resolution and camera-count comparisons only. They do not show which phone takes better photos, especially in low light or video.
Which has the longer-lasting battery or faster charging?
The Nord 6’s 9,000mAh capacity claim is substantially higher than the A36’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. Capacity does not directly translate into hours of use: display settings, software, network conditions and workload all affect endurance, and no comparable battery test is available here.

Samsung materials list 45W charging for the A36, while a third-party comparison lists 80W for Nord 6. Charging rates and whether a charger is included can vary by market and retail package; check the local product listing and box contents rather than assuming either figure guarantees a particular charging time.
Which phone has clearer durability and software-support commitments?
Galaxy A36: official IP rating and update commitment
Samsung rates the A36 IP67 for dust and water resistance. Samsung Ireland states that the phone receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The six-year security period is a stated support commitment, not a claim that every regional variant receives updates on the same schedule.
Nord 6: verify the rating and support policy locally
OnePlus India launch communications describe all-round dust and water protection, while the third-party listing gives an IP69K rating. That rating should not be treated as equivalent to IP67 without official documentation explaining the Nord’s certification and test conditions. An official Nord 6 software-support duration was not established, so buyers who prioritize long-term updates should check OnePlus’s regional product or support information before choosing.

What is the price difference in India?
There is no reliable single price difference to quote from the available India snapshots. A Smartprix listing updated October 7, 2026 showed ₹46,999 for Nord 6 and ₹43,499 for a Galaxy A36 12GB/256GB listing. A separate Smartprix comparison showed ₹46,999 for Nord 6 and ₹28,000 for the A36 without matching that higher-capacity configuration. These are third-party listing snapshots, not official quotes, and the A36 prices refer to different configurations.

Quick Recap
Which should you buy?
- Choose the Galaxy A36 5G if you value Samsung’s documented IP67 rating, 120Hz AMOLED specifications and six generations of OS upgrades plus six years of security updates.
- Consider the Nord 6 if you prioritize the listed Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, higher refresh rate and larger battery capacity, and can verify its specifications, support policy and local price through OnePlus or a trusted seller.
- Compare before paying if price is decisive: check identical memory configurations and account for seller, warranty and current availability rather than relying on mismatched snapshots.
