The Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy M47 5G share a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, 12MP selfie camera, 45W charging and a stated six-generation Android upgrade policy. The M47 may have the larger battery, but its 6,000mAh figure comes from a secondary source rather than the Samsung specification lines reviewed here. There is no reliable price difference to quote: the available Samsung pages cover different countries, so compare local listings for the same memory configuration before choosing.

Which phone has the better display?
On the manufacturer information available, both phones have Super AMOLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung specifies the A36’s screen as 6.7 inches and FHD+. Samsung’s M47 India page confirms the panel type and refresh rate; the 6.70-inch FHD+ details come from a secondary listing, so check the specification sheet for the exact M47 variant sold where you live.

Which has the better camera?
The main rear camera resolution is 50MP on both, and both Samsung product pages list OIS. Their supporting rear cameras differ: the A36 has 8MP and 5MP additional cameras, while the M47 has 5MP and 2MP. Both list a 12MP front camera.
These specifications describe camera hardware, not the quality of the resulting photos. Megapixel counts do not show how well a phone handles focus, motion, low light, color or video, and no controlled head-to-head camera test is established here. Choose based on sample photos or a test of the exact regional models if camera performance is decisive.
Which has the bigger battery?
Samsung lists the A36 battery as 5,000mAh typical. Gadgets 360 reports a 6,000mAh battery for the M47, which would make it larger on paper, but that capacity is not stated in the Samsung specification lines cited for the M47. Treat the M47 number as secondary-source reporting and verify the capacity for the precise model before relying on it.

Both Samsung pages advertise 45W charging. Samsung says the M47 fast charger is sold separately; check what is included with the A36 in your market rather than assuming the same box contents. Capacity and charging wattage alone do not establish battery life or charging time: those depend on usage, settings, temperature and the charger and cable used.
How do software support and durability compare?
Software updates
Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for both phones. For the M47, Samsung counts the period from its first global launch and says the policy is subject to change. Check Samsung’s current regional terms for the device you plan to buy; the stated period is a support policy, not a guarantee that every update arrives simultaneously in every country.
Water and dust protection
Samsung Ireland lists IP67 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A36. Samsung describes water/dust resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the M47, but the cited M47 page does not give an IP rating. That wording is not enough to treat the phones as having equivalent water resistance. Confirm the exact M47 model’s official rating before exposing it to water or dust.

What is the price difference?
The available sources do not establish a current, like-for-like price difference. Samsung’s M47 listing is for India, while the A36 specifications cited here come from Samsung Ireland. Prices, available storage and RAM combinations, colors, network variants and stock can differ by country, so comparing figures from these pages would mix markets rather than show which phone costs less.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For a fair comparison, use listings from the same country and sales channel, checked on the same date. Match the RAM and storage capacity, and compare the final price under the same conditions, including seller, discounts, delivery and taxes where applicable. Samsung’s M47 page identifies an 8GB/128GB Rogue Red model; do not assume another country sells that variant. If the M47 is not officially or reliably available in your market, a local price comparison may not be possible.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the A36 5G if you want the specifications Samsung Ireland clearly lists, including a 5,000mAh typical battery and IP67 protection, or if it is the model with verified local availability and a price that fits your budget.
- Consider the M47 5G if the India-market model is available to you and its camera layout, screen and other verified regional specifications suit your needs. Treat the reported 6,000mAh capacity as unconfirmed by the Samsung specification lines cited here, and check the exact model’s IP rating.
- For either phone, compare current local prices only after matching storage, seller and date. The shared headline specs do not prove equal camera results, battery endurance or overall value.
