Samsung’s stable Android 17-based One UI 9 rollout now reportedly includes the Galaxy A27, A37, A36 and A56. Samsung has separately documented Android 17 and One UI 9 for the Galaxy A57 5G. The release is staged by country, carrier and model, so inclusion in the rollout does not mean every owner can download it today.
Which Galaxy A phones have One UI 9?
The reported stable wave covers four models: Galaxy A27, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. A GSMArena report dated 15 October 2026 says Samsung released One UI 9 for all four, with the A27 and A37 initially rolling out in South Korea. The same report had not yet published the country schedule or exact firmware builds for the A36 and A56.
The Galaxy A57 5G has a separate, official Samsung firmware notice. Samsung lists Android version “C (Android 17),” One UI 9, firmware A576BXXU6BZIE, a release date of 12 October 2026 and a 5 September 2026 security patch level.

Samsung Mobile Press announced on 16 September 2026 that One UI 9 would begin with the Galaxy S26 series and gradually expand to other Galaxy devices. Samsung also cautions that update details can differ by model, country and network operator.

Why your A36, A56, A27 or A37 may not show the update yet
A stable release announcement means Samsung has started distributing the software, not that the package is simultaneously available in every market. Firmware approval, carrier testing and staged deployment can leave two owners of the same model on different schedules.
- Country staging: The A27 and A37 rollout was reported first in South Korea. Other markets may follow later.
- Carrier variants: Network operators can approve or delay a package independently.
- Model and regional firmware: The same commercial model can use different software branches.
- Phased delivery: Samsung can pause or widen distribution after early installations without changing the underlying One UI 9 version.
There is therefore no universal date that can be given for every A36 or A56 owner. The published evidence confirms their inclusion in the stable wave but does not establish a single worldwide download date or exact build for either model.
How to check for Android 17 and One UI 9
- Open Settings.
- Select Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- If an update is offered, review the version, download size and security-patch date, then install while the phone is charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
If no package appears, check again later rather than sideloading a firmware file intended for another model or region. The build identifiers above are useful for comparing an offered package with reports for the same regional variant, but a different suffix does not automatically mean the phone is behind.

More flexible Quick panel controls
Samsung’s A57 notice describes a redesigned Quick panel with resizable brightness and volume sliders and a resizable media player. The sound-mode button can also be separated, allowing a layout that better matches how you adjust audio.

Warranty and care in Settings
One UI 9 adds a Warranty and care settings menu. Samsung positions it as a more direct way to reach device-care and warranty information.
Faster lock-down and a new lock-screen clock
The update includes a faster lock-down option and a redesigned lock-screen clock. Exact appearance and available controls can vary with the phone model and regional software.
Galaxy AI features are not identical everywhere
Samsung’s rollout announcement highlights enhanced Galaxy AI and names My FanCam, Now Brief and Now Nudge. Samsung states that feature availability depends on country, region, language, device model and the installed OS or One UI version. A phone receiving One UI 9 is therefore not guaranteed to receive every named AI function.
Samsung’s update and security support commitments
In its 25 March 2026 announcement for the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G, Samsung said those models receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Those are maximum commitments for the named models, not a blanket promise that every Galaxy A phone in this rollout receives the same term.

Samsung’s current security-support list places the A56 and A57 in the monthly security-update group. The A27, A36 and A37 appear in the quarterly group.
| Model | Security cadence listed by Samsung | OS/One UI support statement available in the cited announcement |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A57 | Monthly | Up to six Android OS and One UI generations; up to six years of security updates |
| Galaxy A56 | Monthly | No separate six-generation statement in the cited A57/A37 announcement |
| Galaxy A37 | Quarterly | Up to six Android OS and One UI generations; up to six years of security updates |
| Galaxy A36 | Quarterly | No separate six-generation statement in the cited A57/A37 announcement |
| Galaxy A27 | Quarterly | No separate six-generation statement in the cited A57/A37 announcement |
Samsung’s security page also mentions that support for some Galaxy devices has been extended to as many as seven years. That broad policy should not be read as a seven-year guarantee for every model in the table.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to verify before comparing phones or firmware
- Whether One UI 9 is available for your exact country and carrier variant.
- The complete firmware build, including its regional suffix.
- The security-patch date shown in Settings after installation.
- The model’s stated Android/One UI upgrade term and security-update cadence.
- Whether a specific One UI 9 feature is enabled for that model, language and region.
For now, the clear result is that A27, A37, A36 and A56 are part of the stable One UI 9 wave, while A57 has the most detailed official package record. Owners who do not yet see an update are most likely waiting for their regional or carrier release rather than being excluded from the rollout.
