The Galaxy A17 5G is the better fit if you need microSD expansion; the Galaxy A37 5G adds a 120Hz display, faster wired charging, higher-resolution ultrawide and macro cameras, and 4K video recording. Samsung announced the A37 at $449.99 in the U.S., but the official sources reviewed do not establish a comparable U.S. A17 price—so there is no reliable exact U.S. price difference to quote.

What the display and charging differences mean
Display refresh rate
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, but Samsung lists the A17 at 90Hz and the A37 at 120Hz. The A37 therefore has the higher listed refresh rate. The comparison does not provide independent measurements of perceived smoothness, brightness, or outdoor readability.

Battery capacity and charging

The higher A37 charging rating does not show how long a full charge takes under real-world conditions. Samsung’s comparison says neither model supports wireless charging or PowerShare.
Camera differences: resolution is not a quality verdict
The rear main camera is listed at 50MP on both. The A37 has higher listed ultrawide and macro resolutions: 8MP and 5MP, compared with 5MP and 2MP on the A17. Samsung lists a 13MP front camera on the A17 and a 12MP front camera on the A37. The A37 comparison also lists UHD 4K video at 30fps, while the A17 is listed for FHD video at 30fps.

The official sources reviewed do not establish a comparable U.S. Galaxy A17 5G price. That means an exact current U.S. price difference cannot be calculated from these figures. For a meaningful comparison, check current local listings for the same storage capacity, market, carrier status, and purchase date; promotions can change the amount paid.
Singapore launch prices are a separate market
For regional context only, Samsung Singapore listed launch recommended retail prices including GST of S$478 for the A37 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and S$568 for the 8GB/256GB model. Samsung announced Singapore general availability beginning April 10, 2026. Durability and software support: check the regional model
Samsung’s UK A37 product page lists IP68 water- and dust-resistance, up to six OS upgrades, and up to six years of security updates for the Galaxy A37. Those are claims on the UK product page; they should not be assumed to apply identically to every regional variant or used to infer an A17 support commitment. Confirm the specifications and support terms for the exact model sold in your market. Samsung UK Galaxy A37 product page

Samsung Business Insights also lists 5,000mAh batteries for both models, up to 25W charging for A17 versus up to 45W for A37, and microSD expansion on A17. For a particular purchase, the exact local model and configuration page remains the relevant source. Samsung Business Insights comparison
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A17 5G if
- You specifically want removable microSD storage, which Samsung lists up to 2TB.
- The A17 listing available to you is less expensive after comparing the same market, storage tier, and carrier status.
- You prefer its listed 13MP front-camera resolution; this alone does not establish better selfie quality.
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if
- You want the higher listed display refresh rate: 120Hz rather than 90Hz.
- You value up to 45W wired charging, compared with up to 25W on the A17.
- You want the higher-memory or storage configurations listed in Samsung’s U.S. comparison, or the listed 4K-at-30fps video mode.
- You want the higher listed ultrawide and macro camera resolutions, while recognizing that resolution alone does not determine image quality.
Check before ordering
- Confirm the full model name, memory and storage configuration, and regional variant.
- Compare live prices for matching configurations rather than treating the A37’s launch price as its current price.
- If removable storage matters, verify the specific model’s card support before purchase; Samsung lists microSD support on A17 and none on A37.
