There is no free ARK server host that can be confirmed as reliably permanent in 2026. Most offers described as free are short trials. ScalaCube has a plan page that lists a free ARK server, but another page from the same provider says free ARK: Survival Evolved servers are no longer offered. Treat that plan as unconfirmed until you check the live terms. For a short test, game-host trials may work; a 30-day VPS trial offers more time but requires you to install and manage the server yourself.
What “free ARK server hosting” means in 2026
Free hosting can mean two very different things: a server you can keep using without paying, or a temporary trial that lets you play before the trial ends. With a VPS, you are responsible for installing and managing the ARK server software. A longer trial does not make that work disappear.

Is ScalaCube really free for ARK?
ScalaCube is the only candidate in the available information that has a plan page listing an ongoing free ARK server. That listing reports 32 GB of RAM, an 8-core CPU, 50 GB of SSD storage, unlimited traffic and bandwidth, DDoS protection, and a price of “FREE.” It also says the plan supports only an “IP with Port” address option. Those specifications should be treated as claims on the plan page, not as independently tested performance or confirmation that the plan can currently be ordered.
The same provider’s free ARK page conflicts with that listing. Its search-result text says, “Unfortunately, we don’t provide free game servers for ARK: Survival Evolved anymore.” The page was described in the search index as roughly 1,460 days old, so it may be stale; nevertheless, it is a direct contradiction from the provider, not a reason to assume the plan is available.

An older ScalaCube help article adds another condition: free servers must be renewed through a “Renew for free” action about every two days. If the renewal is missed, the server and its contents are automatically deleted. Because that help article is dated, the interval and deletion rule may no longer match current terms. Confirm both the renewal process and what happens to saved worlds before putting time into a server.
Coverage for ARK: Survival Ascended is also unsettled. A guide about free Ascended hosting characterizes ScalaCube’s free tier as likely limited and advises checking first; it does not establish that Ascended is currently available on the plan. Do not treat an ARK: Survival Evolved listing as proof of Ascended support. Check the exact game edition named in the plan and signup screen.

A 24- or 48-hour trial may be enough to see whether a hosted server works for a short session, test access, or try basic settings. PingPerfect is reported to offer a 48-hour game-server trial without payment; FreakHosting’s reported offer is two days on select plans; Sparked Host’s is 24 hours. These are brief windows, not a basis for assuming you can keep the same server running without paying.

Nodecraft needs extra caution because its trial duration is inconsistent across the reported pages: the ARK page is described as offering a no-card 24-hour option and a 7-day option with payment details, while other summaries report 3 days or 48 hours. Check the ARK-specific terms at signup rather than relying on a duration quoted for another game or a comparison page.
For a longer evaluation
Kamatera and VPSServer.com are reported to offer 30-day VPS trials valued up to $100. That is the longest trial window in the options listed here, but these are generic VPS offers rather than ready-to-play ARK hosting. You must install and operate the server. The available information does not establish the machine size, ARK edition compatibility, or current eligibility conditions, so a 30-day trial is not a promise that a particular ARK setup will run well or be free for every applicant.
Kamatera is described as scalable and suited to larger setups, but that description does not specify a configuration or performance result. Choose a VPS only if you are comfortable with server administration or have someone who can handle setup, updates, and troubleshooting.

If you want to keep a world long term
Do not plan a community around a short trial. Before starting, establish what happens when time runs out: whether the provider stops the server, bills automatically, requires an upgrade, or deletes the world. The available trial summaries do not establish those end-of-trial rules for each provider. For a free plan that requires periodic renewal, find the exact renewal deadline and deletion policy first.
How to check an offer before you sign up
- Confirm the exact game edition. Look for ARK: Survival Evolved or ARK: Survival Ascended by name. The available offer summaries do not confirm that any listed host supports both editions on a free plan or trial.
- Read whether it is a trial, guarantee, or ongoing plan. A trial has an end date. A money-back guarantee means you may pay first and request a refund under stated conditions. A plan labeled free can still have renewal or availability limits.

- Find the resource allocation and connection details. Check the RAM, CPU, storage, traffic limits, and address format on the actual plan page. ScalaCube’s reported free-plan specifications are not independent benchmarks, and its address option is listed as IP with Port only.
- Understand renewal and data retention. If the offer requires renewal, note the interval and whether missing it deletes the server or its contents. For any trial, determine whether the world can be retained or transferred after the trial. The summaries do not establish a universal retention policy.
- Check the live terms on the day you enroll. Free plans, trial lengths, and eligibility can change, and comparison pages may disagree. Prefer the provider’s current plan and signup pages over an old summary.
What about other supposed free options?
One comparison list names Godlike as offering a free ARK server with limited resources, around 10 GB of storage. No second source in the available information confirms that offer, so it is not strong enough to recommend as a dependable free option.
HidenCloud appears in search results for a free-server page, but its support for ARK was not verified. A free-server page alone does not establish that ARK is among the supported games.
