Foxit PDF Editor+ is the better value for many teams: its published US annual price is $159.99 per user, compared with $287.88 for Adobe Acrobat Pro for Teams in Foxit’s September 3, 2026 comparison. Foxit also bundles a perpetual-license option, document management, Smart Redact, 300 AI credits per user per month, and 150 eSign envelopes per user per year.
Adobe Acrobat Pro is the better fit when your organization depends on Adobe integrations, established Acrobat templates and processes, advanced bulk e-signature operations, or a wider Adobe workflow. The right choice depends on seats, region, contract terms, and which capabilities your team actually uses.

How the prices compare
Foxit’s subscription and perpetual options
Foxit lists PDF Editor at $129.99 per user per year and PDF Editor+ at $159.99 per user per year. Monthly billing is listed from $10.99. Foxit also lists Foxit PDF Editor 14 as a one-time perpetual purchase for $209.99 per user on Windows and macOS. These are published US list prices and can change.
#1 Best Overall
- Work securely offline — without connecting to the cloud — with desktop-only PDF tools.
- Edit text and images and reorder and delete pages in a PDF.
- Convert PDFs to Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files while preserving fonts, formatting, and layouts.
- Easily create, fill, and sign forms.
- Password-protect documents or redact sections of a PDF to keep sensitive information secure.
The Plus plan is the relevant comparison for teams that need Foxit’s complete bundle. It adds mobile applications, Smart Redact, Foxit DMS, AI credits and Foxit eSign allowances to the core editor. The lower-priced PDF Editor plan lists Windows, macOS and web support, while the Plus plan lists Windows, macOS, web, iOS and Android.
Adobe’s individual and team prices are different products in practice
Adobe’s individual Acrobat Pro page lists US$19.99 per month when billed annually, equivalent to $239.88 over 12 months before tax. Foxit’s cited team comparison uses Adobe Acrobat Pro for Teams at $287.88 per user per year, not the individual price. Do not use the individual figure to forecast a managed deployment without checking Adobe’s current team quotation.
Foxit’s September 3, 2026 comparison presents $159.99 versus $287.88 and describes Foxit as 44% lower at list price. That comparison excludes taxes and volume discounts. Adobe and Foxit can both vary pricing by region, number of seats, billing commitment and negotiated contract.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →What perpetual licensing changes
A perpetual Foxit license can make sense for a computer that must remain on a fixed software version, has limited internet access or is used for many years without recurring subscription payments. It is a license for Foxit PDF Editor 14, not a promise of free access to every future release or every cloud service in Editor+.
Adobe states that new customers do not receive a perpetual Acrobat license. Acrobat is therefore a subscription decision for new buyers. A perpetual-versus-subscription comparison should include upgrade requirements, support, security updates, cloud storage, e-signature usage and the number of machines or users involved.
What both editors can do
Both products cover the normal professional PDF lifecycle:
Rank #2
- Create and edit PDFs. Collaborate with ease. E-sign documents and collect signatures. Get everything done in one app, wherever you go.
- Edit text and images without jumping to another app.
- E-sign documents or request e-signatures on any device. Recipients don’t need to log in to e-sign.
- Convert PDFs to editable Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents.
- Share PDFs for collaboration. Commenting features make it easy for reviewers to comment, mark up, and annotate.
- Create PDFs from documents and other files.
- Edit text, images and page structure.
- Convert PDFs to and from common office formats.
- Recognize text in scanned documents with OCR.
- Create and fill forms, add annotations and apply signatures.
- Protect documents with permissions, passwords and redaction tools.
- Compare documents and support collaboration or review workflows.
- Address accessibility and, in Foxit’s Plus comparison, print-production preflight.
That overlap means the choice is rarely about whether either application can open, edit or export a PDF. It is about depth in OCR and redaction, signature operations, integrations, administration and the services bundled with each seat.
Foxit PDF Editor+: where it has the strongest case
Lower published team cost
At the cited US list prices, Editor+ costs $127.89 less per user per year than Acrobat Pro for Teams ($287.88 minus $159.99). A 10-seat team would therefore show a $1,278.90 annual list-price difference before tax, discounts or contract adjustments. That is a price illustration, not a quote.
Bundled document management
Editor+ includes Foxit DMS with unlimited storage, metadata and full-text search, version control and governance features. For a team that otherwise needs a separate repository for PDF approvals and versions, those inclusions can matter more than the editor alone. Confirm retention, export, administrator roles and compliance requirements before treating “unlimited storage” as a complete records-management solution.
Smart Redact and AI credits
Foxit lists Smart Redact as an AI-powered redaction feature in Editor+. The plan includes 300 AI credits per user per month. Credits are an allowance, not an unlimited guarantee; check which actions consume credits and what happens when an account reaches its monthly limit.
Included eSign envelopes
Editor+ includes 150 Foxit eSign envelopes per user per year. An envelope generally represents one signature transaction sent to one or more recipients, but your procurement team should verify Foxit’s current counting rules, recipient limits, reminders and audit requirements. A team sending fewer than 150 transactions per licensed user may avoid a separate e-signature purchase.

Mobile coverage
Foxit lists Editor+ applications for iOS and Android in addition to Windows, macOS and web access. This is useful when staff review, annotate or sign PDFs away from a desktop. Test offline behavior, file synchronization and organization-managed mobile deployment if field work is important.

Adobe Acrobat Pro: where it has the strongest case
Mature Acrobat workflows and Adobe integrations
Adobe’s advantage is often operational rather than a single editing command. Organizations that already use Adobe products, Acrobat templates, established approval procedures or Adobe identity and administration may save migration effort by staying with Acrobat. Adobe also lists integrations including OneDrive and Google Drive.
Advanced Pro features over Standard
Adobe’s pricing FAQ says Acrobat Pro adds the following over Acrobat Standard:
- OCR for scanned documents.
- PDF comparison.
- Redaction.
- Branded agreements.
- Reusable e-signature templates.
- Bulk e-signature tracking.
These capabilities are particularly relevant to legal, procurement, human-resources and sales teams that send repeatable agreements or monitor many signature requests at once.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Bulk signature operations
Foxit supplies a stated annual envelope allowance in Editor+, while Adobe describes Pro in terms of reusable templates, web forms and bulk signature tracking. The products are not expressing e-signature capacity in the same unit, so compare your actual monthly send volume, template needs, signer authentication, audit trails and administration rather than comparing “150” with an unspecified Adobe number.
Adobe’s broader paid tiers
Adobe’s Studio tier adds PDF Spaces, Acrobat AI Assistant and Adobe Express Premium. Those additions are outside the standard Pro feature set described here. If your team needs AI-assisted document conversations or Adobe Express, include Studio in the comparison instead of assuming Pro includes those services.
OCR and redaction: which editor is better?
OCR
Both products support OCR, but Adobe explicitly positions Pro as adding OCR for scanned PDFs over Standard. Foxit lists OCR as a core capability in both its professional editor description and the Editor+ comparison. For a purchase decision, run representative scans through both products:
Rank #4
- EXCLUSIVE AMAZON BUNDLE - Securely create, edit, and share PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Secure your pc and personal information against advanced threats, frauds, and scams with McAfee Total Protection. Introductory offer for new users
- ULTIMATE TOOL FOR CREATIVING – Create and edit PDFs. Collaborate with ease. E-sign documents and collect signatures. Get everything done in one app, wherever you go
- REVISIONS - Edit text and images without jumping to another app.
- ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES - E-sign documents or request e-signatures on any device. Recipients don’t need to log in to esign.
- CONVERT PDFs - Convert your pdf files to editable Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents.
- Choose clean, mixed-layout scans and difficult samples such as tables, forms, stamps and low-contrast pages.
- Check recognition of names, dates, decimal values and non-English characters.
- Export to an editable format and inspect reading order, line breaks, columns and table structure.
- Search the resulting PDF for every sensitive field and verify that copied text matches the image.
- Record processing time and error corrections for the volume your team handles each month.
There is no controlled accuracy benchmark in the available product material, so neither editor should be declared universally superior on OCR accuracy without testing your documents.

Redaction
Adobe Pro includes redaction, and Foxit Editor+ adds Smart Redact. Secure redaction requires more than drawing a black rectangle: the underlying text, images, metadata, comments, attachments and hidden layers must be removed or sanitized. Use each product’s redaction workflow on a copy, apply the redactions, save a new file and test search, copy-and-paste, text extraction and metadata inspection before release.
Foxit’s Smart Redact may reduce manual selection work, while Adobe’s established redaction process may be preferable where an organization already has approved Acrobat procedures. Neither feature eliminates the need for human review of names, account numbers, privileged material or context-specific sensitive information.
Document management, collaboration and storage
Foxit Editor+ explicitly bundles Foxit DMS, unlimited storage, search, version control and governance features. That creates a more complete out-of-the-box document workspace for teams that do not already have one.
Adobe Acrobat Pro is strongest when PDFs already live in an Adobe-centered or connected storage workflow. Adobe lists desktop, mobile and browser access and integrations including OneDrive and Google Drive. If your organization uses SharePoint, a records platform, a CRM or a line-of-business system, verify the exact connector, administrator controls and licensing tier before assuming that a general cloud integration covers your workflow.

Platforms, seats and deployment

| Desktop operating systems | Windows and macOS | Desktop applications for Windows and macOS are part of Acrobat’s desktop offering |
| Browser access | Web support listed | Web browser access listed |
| Mobile | iOS and Android listed for Editor+ | Mobile access listed |

Count people who create, edit, OCR, redact or send documents, not everyone who merely views a PDF. Occasional readers may be served by a free Reader application or a trial, subject to each vendor’s current terms. Shared accounts complicate audit trails and should not replace properly assigned user licenses.
Which editor should you choose?
Choose Foxit PDF Editor+ when
- Your main constraint is the annual cost per seat.
- You want a perpetual Windows or macOS license for some machines.
- Unlimited-storage DMS, version control and governance are valuable in the same purchase.
- Smart Redact and a stated 300-credit monthly AI allowance fit your process.
- You expect up to 150 eSign envelopes per licensed user per year.
- Users need included iOS and Android applications.
Choose Adobe Acrobat Pro when
- Your organization already standardizes on Acrobat or other Adobe products.
- Existing templates, web forms and approval procedures would be expensive to rebuild.
- You need Pro’s documented OCR, comparison, redaction, reusable templates and bulk signature tracking over Standard.
- OneDrive, Google Drive or other Adobe-connected workflows are central to daily work.
- Your legal, sales or operations team depends on established Acrobat support and training.
Choose neither paid plan yet when
- You only view PDFs, add occasional comments or fill simple forms.
- You have not measured OCR, redaction or signature volume.
- Your team already owns document management and e-signature systems that may make bundled services redundant.
A practical evaluation plan before buying
- Inventory your workflows. List document creation, conversion, scanned-PDF OCR, redaction, forms, signatures, comparison, accessibility checks, mobile use and storage.
- Count seats and transactions. Separate heavy editors from viewers, then record monthly signature sends and annual envelope demand.
- Test real files. Use a representative packet containing scans, tables, forms, comments, signatures and sensitive data. Measure corrections rather than relying on feature checklists.
- Validate integrations. Test identity management, OneDrive or Google Drive access, sharing, version history, exports and offboarding.
- Check administration. Confirm deployment, update controls, permissions, audit logs, retention and regional data requirements.
- Request team quotations. Foxit documents volume discounts, and Adobe pricing can vary by contract and region. Compare the written total, not a headline price.
- Run a short parallel pilot. Have representative users complete the same tasks in both applications and record training time, correction effort and failed transactions.
Evidence, ratings and limits of comparison
Foxit reports a G2 comparison accessed September 3, 2026 showing 4.6/5 for Foxit PDF Editor and 4.5/5 for Adobe Acrobat overall. User ratings change over time, reflect the respondents and categories selected, and are not a controlled performance test.
TechRadar’s 2026 roundup places Adobe Acrobat Standard at the top of its PDF-editor list and describes Foxit as a broad, multi-platform alternative. That is an editorial evaluation, not a laboratory benchmark. It should inform, not replace, a pilot using your own documents and policies.
Final verdict
For a cost-conscious team buying a complete PDF workspace, Foxit PDF Editor+ offers the clearer published value: $159.99 per US user per year, a perpetual-license path for Windows and macOS, DMS storage and controls, Smart Redact, 300 monthly AI credits, 150 annual eSign envelopes and mobile applications.
Adobe Acrobat Pro earns its premium when compatibility with existing Acrobat processes, Adobe integrations, reusable agreement templates, web forms or bulk signature tracking is more important than the lowest seat price. Compare like-for-like team quotations and test your OCR, redaction and signing workflows before committing.
