Forza Horizon 6 has three PS5 editions. Standard is the base game, Deluxe adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass, and Premium bundles those extras with VIP Membership, two expansions, two named car packs and up to five days of Early Access. The US PlayStation Store lists them at $69.99, $99.99 and $119.99 respectively; regional and physical-retail prices may differ.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 editions at a glance
The following comparison reflects the US PlayStation Store listing and the release information published by Playground Games. Prices are the amounts shown for the US digital listings at the time of writing, not a guarantee for every country or retailer.
| PS5 edition | US PlayStation Store price | Included content | Access timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $69.99 | Full game | January 26, 2027 |
| Deluxe | $99.99 | Full game, Welcome Pack and Car Pass | January 26, 2027 |
| Premium | $119.99 | Full game, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, VIP Membership, Expansions 1 and 2, Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack | Early Access begins January 21, 2027 |
Premium is the only tier with Early Access. The PlayStation listing describes that window as up to five days, while Standard and Deluxe begin on the regular release date.
What the Standard Edition is for
Standard is the straightforward choice if you want the complete launch game without bundled add-ons. It includes the Japan-set racing campaign and the launch game’s more-than-550-car roster advertised by PlayStation.
#1 Best Overall
- FORZA HORIZON 6 LIMITED EDITION — Explore breathtaking Japan with the XBOX Wireless Controller – Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition. Inspired by the winding Touge roads of Japan, this controller blends high-performance style with festival flair.
- FESTIVAL-INSPIRED DESIGN — Watch the translucent top case and triggers unveil dynamic lighting effects of a vibrant pink and green XBOX button. Bold pink thumbsticks, multi-color ABXY buttons, and a Horizon logo stamped on the battery door seal the look.
- RACING-READY GRIP — Lock into the open-world driving action with black and pink diamond-patterned grips and textured triggers built for every moment on the road.
- UP TO 40 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE — Get up to 40 hours of battery life so you can explore Japan from neon-lit streets to mountain passes without stopping to recharge.*
- PLAY ACROSS EVERY SCREEN — Quickly pair with, play on, and switch between console and PC. Stream games across mobile, gaming handhelds, Smart TVs, and supported VR headsets with XBOX Cloud Gaming.**
Nothing in the edition description indicates reduced performance, a smaller map or fewer core activities compared with the higher tiers. The difference is the post-launch content and bonuses bundled with Deluxe and Premium, not a separate gameplay engine or hardware mode.
Choose Standard when you plan to decide about expansions later, prefer to buy only the downloadable content you actually want, or simply want the lowest listed entry price. Remember that later purchases may be subject to their own pricing and release schedules, which are not established by the edition listing.
What Deluxe adds
Deluxe keeps the full game and adds two components:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Welcome Pack: a starter bundle containing five pre-tuned cars, one Car Voucher redeemable for an Autoshow car, a free Player House and three tickets for Common or Rare clothing items.
- Car Pass: 30 additional cars, delivered according to the official content schedule.
Deluxe does not include VIP Membership, either expansion, the Time Attack Car Pack or the Italian Passion Car Pack. It also does not provide the Premium Early Access period; its access follows the regular launch timing shown in the table.
This tier fits players who want a larger garage from the beginning and the starter benefits in the Welcome Pack, but do not yet want the complete announced add-on bundle. Car Pass vehicles are not necessarily all available on launch day: the platform listing says Car Pass cars become available as released.
What Premium adds
Premium contains the Deluxe package and adds four further categories of content, plus Early Access:
- VIP Membership: three exclusive Forza Edition cars, Crown Flair, an emote, a car horn, a free Tokyo City Player House and perk, twice the credit rewards and weekly Super Wheelspins.
- Expansion 1: a new location with extra cars and gameplay. Its announced release date is January 21, 2027.
- Expansion 2: another location-based expansion with extra cars and gameplay. A release date and detailed contents have not been stated in the official information reviewed for this comparison.
- Time Attack Car Pack: eight extra cars.
- Italian Passion Car Pack: four extra cars.
The store description treats expansions, Car Packs and Car Pass vehicles as content that becomes available as it is released. Buying Premium therefore grants entitlement to the announced bundle; it does not mean every add-on is playable immediately when the base game starts.
Premium Early Access begins January 21, five days before the Standard and Deluxe release. The earlier start is the main timing advantage; the edition is not advertised as having higher frame rates, better graphics or exclusive hardware performance.
Understanding the Welcome Pack, Car Pass and VIP benefits
Welcome Pack
The Welcome Pack is aimed at the opening hours of the game. Its five pre-tuned cars give you ready-to-drive options without requiring you to build those setups yourself. The single Car Voucher applies to an Autoshow car, while the Player House and clothing tickets provide in-game customization and convenience rather than a separate campaign.
The voucher is limited to one redemption. The official description does not establish which specific Autoshow car a player should select, so treat it as flexible garage credit rather than a guaranteed high-performance model.

Car Pass
Car Pass is a 30-car entitlement. The count is a product-content total from the official Forza edition list, not a claim about the cars’ performance, rarity or individual value. Availability follows the publisher’s release schedule.
VIP Membership
VIP combines cosmetic items, extra cars and progression-oriented bonuses. The twice-the-credit reward is the most consequential systemic benefit listed, while weekly Super Wheelspins and the Tokyo City Player House add recurring rewards and a location-specific perk. The official information does not specify the exact credit amounts, wheelspin contents or the full perk rules, so those details should not be inferred from the edition name alone.
Release dates, Early Access and preorder bonus
Playground Games announced on October 8, 2026 that the regular PS5 launch for Standard and Deluxe is January 26, 2027. Premium Early Access starts January 21, 2027. The PlayStation listing describes Premium as offering up to five days of Early Access, so the actual access window should be checked against the current store page and account status near launch.
PlayStation Store preorders made before January 26, 2027 include a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 in-game. It is added after you start the game and complete the prologue. PlayStation states a limit of one Ferrari J50 per person or account. Eligibility, cutoff timing and other preorder terms can change, so verify the live listing before paying.
Early Access is not the same as a different release build. It is an earlier permission to launch the game for the Premium entitlement; the core PS5 edition remains the same product.

How to choose the right edition
| If your priority is… | Most direct fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Playing the base game at the lowest listed US digital price | Standard | It contains the full game without bundled add-ons. |
| Starter bonuses and 30 additional cars, but not the full expansion bundle | Deluxe | It adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass while keeping regular launch access. |
| Every announced add-on in one purchase | Premium | It combines Deluxe content with VIP, both expansions and both named car packs. |
| Starting as early as the listed PS5 schedule allows | Premium | It is the only edition with up to five days of Early Access. |
| Waiting to see which expansions interest you | Standard | You avoid committing to the announced add-on bundle at purchase. |
There is no official standalone price list for every Premium component in the information available here, so a precise “savings” calculation would be speculative. Decide using the confirmed contents, the listed price for your region, and whether five days of earlier access matters to you.
PS5 digital, disc and account requirements
Digital editions
The prices above come from the US PlayStation Store. Store pricing, taxes, currency conversion, preorder availability and regional content can differ outside the United States. Digital add-ons may also have their own release dates even after you purchase an edition that includes them.
Physical PS5 release
Playground Games confirms that Forza Horizon 6 will also be available on PS5 disc at supporting retailers. The announcement does not identify which retailers will stock it, how many copies they will receive or what the physical price will be. A disc listing should therefore be checked for the correct PS5 format and edition before purchase.
Online and account requirements
- A Microsoft account is required.
- A persistent internet connection is required.
- PlayStation account requirements apply to online features.
- Online console multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus, sold separately, according to the linked PlayStation Store information.
These requirements are separate from the edition choice. Buying Standard, Deluxe or Premium does not remove the need for the required accounts, connection or multiplayer subscription.
Cross-platform play, cross-save and user-created content
Playground Games says the PS5 version supports cross-platform play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions. It also states support for cross-platform user-created content. That means your edition decision does not lock the game into a PS5-only ecosystem, although account linking and the applicable online requirements still apply.
Cross-save support should not be confused with cross-buy. The published statement confirms cross-save and cross-platform play, but it does not say that purchasing a PlayStation edition grants a separate Xbox or Steam license.
Important limits and details to check before buying
- Regional pricing: the figures in this article are US PlayStation Store prices, not universal prices.
- Retail pricing and stock: the disc release is confirmed, but retailer availability and physical pricing are not.
- Staggered content: Car Pass cars, Car Packs and expansions arrive as released; Premium does not make unreleased content playable immediately.
- Expansion 2: its date and detailed contents remain unspecified in the cited official listings.
- Preorder terms: the Ferrari J50 bonus has a one-per-account limit and requires completing the prologue; eligibility should be rechecked on the current store page.
- Online play: PlayStation Plus is an additional requirement for console multiplayer.
For the most current terms, compare the live PlayStation Store page with the latest Playground Games announcement immediately before purchase, especially if you are buying outside the United States or close to launch.
