Forza Horizon 6 does not yet have a publicly confirmed HUD setting that highlights, filters, or tracks collectibles. The announced tools that can make exploration more manageable are customizable High Contrast mode, Car Proximity Radar, AutoDrive, and a map that gradually reveals as you travel. Their documented purposes are visual clarity, nearby-car awareness, relaxed driving, and navigation—not collectible detection. Exact menu paths and current-build options still need to be checked in the game before following any button-by-button guide.
What Forza Horizon 6 officially confirms
Playground Games’ announcement for Forza Horizon 6 lists several accessibility features carried forward from earlier Horizon games. The named features are American Sign Language and British Sign Language support, Car Proximity Radar, AutoDrive, and customizable High Contrast mode. The announcement presents these as general accessibility and awareness tools, not as a collectible system. You can read the announcement on Forza.net.
Xbox Wire separately describes a map with fog of war: areas become visible as you explore. Design Director Torben Ellert explains, “This new system is designed to tell you where you have been and what you have seen in a really legible way,” in its preview of the game’s open-world design. That wording supports using the map to understand your exploration progress, but it does not promise a collectible marker, category filter, or completion counter. The preview is available at Xbox Wire.

The practical answer is therefore cautious: use the available contrast, awareness, driving-assistance, and map-discovery tools to reduce friction while searching, but do not assume that any of them identifies every collectible.

Which announced accessibility features can help exploration?
| Feature | Documented purpose | How it may help a collector | What is not confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customizable High Contrast mode | Improves visual distinction in the interface and game presentation. | Higher contrast may make map elements, route lines, signs, terrain edges, or nearby objects easier to distinguish, depending on the current implementation. | It is not documented as a collectible highlighter or collectible-only overlay. |
| Car Proximity Radar | Adds awareness of nearby vehicles, with particular value in first-person cockpit view. | Can reduce surprise traffic while you scan roadsides or approach an exploration location. | It reports nearby cars, not boards, landmarks, rewards, or other collectibles. |
| AutoDrive | Lets players sit back and appreciate the world instead of continuously controlling the car. | May give you more attention for observing scenery during a slow trip or a planned search route. | It is not an automatic search, detection, or pickup function. |
| ASL and BSL support | Provides sign-language support announced by Playground Games. | Can improve access to supported communication or presentation content for players who use sign language. | No collectible-specific behavior is described. |
These distinctions matter because a setting can improve visibility without changing what the game recognizes. A contrast option may help you see an object that is already in front of you; it does not establish that the object will appear on the map. Likewise, a proximity radar for traffic should not be treated as a general-purpose scanner.
How the map’s fog of war helps you search
The map’s announced discovery system reveals territory as you drive through it. This gives you a way to separate explored roads and regions from places you have not yet visited. For collectible hunting, that is useful as an organization method: first uncover the map, then revisit areas methodically instead of relying on memory.
Use the map as an exploration record
- Open the map after a session and identify blank or lightly revealed areas.
- Plan a route that follows roads through an unexplored region rather than jumping randomly between activities.
- When a route is complete, note which roads and branches you have actually driven.
- Return to the map before the next session and continue from the nearest unrevealed section.
The official description says the system communicates where you have been and what you have seen. It does not say that every collectible appears as an icon, that hidden items are counted, or that the map can be filtered to show only collectibles. Treat the revealed map as geographic progress, not proof of item completion.

No official source identified for this guide confirms a dedicated collectible tracker on the HUD. There is also no confirmed statement that High Contrast mode, Car Proximity Radar, AutoDrive, or the fog-of-war map can filter collectibles. The absence of confirmation is important: a visible icon in a particular build could be an activity marker, event marker, or player-created map information rather than a universal collectible system.

Collectible behavior can change through patches, platform builds, and interface updates. Check the current in-game menus and the latest Forza Support documentation before publishing or relying on a procedural path. If you find an option labelled for collectibles in your build, record its exact name, platform, update version, and whether it affects the map, the driving view, or both. Do not generalize that result to other platforms without checking them.
A practical, accessibility-aware hunting workflow
The following process uses only the purposes that have been publicly described. It avoids assuming a menu location or a feature that has not been documented.
- Confirm your build and platform. Write down whether you are playing on Xbox Series X|S or PC and install the current update. Interface labels can differ after updates, so note the version shown by the game or platform.
- Review accessibility options before driving. Look for the announced High Contrast, Car Proximity Radar, and AutoDrive entries in the game’s current Accessibility or Settings screens. Because official materials do not publish exact paths, use the labels displayed by your build instead of following an unverified button sequence.
- Choose contrast deliberately. Start with a setting that separates interface elements and terrain without making route information harder to read. If map symbols become less distinguishable, revert or adjust the contrast level; the goal is readable information, not maximum visual intensity.
- Decide whether radar reduces distraction. Car Proximity Radar is intended for awareness of nearby vehicles, especially in cockpit view. Enable it when traffic makes roadside scanning difficult, and disable or reduce it if extra indicators compete with the map or scenery.
- Use AutoDrive only for observation. AutoDrive can let you watch the environment during a planned trip. It does not collect items for you, and you should be ready to resume control when a road turn or search location requires it.
- Reveal one region at a time. Drive every branch and connecting road in a chosen area, then inspect the map for remaining fog. Keep a written or digital checklist of regions visited; the announced map system is a travel record, not a confirmed item inventory.
- Search the physical space. Once an area is revealed, slow down and inspect likely roadside locations, elevated paths, dead ends, and spaces behind structures. Accessibility settings can improve perception, but they do not replace visual searching unless a future update explicitly adds detection.
- Recheck uncertain locations. If an object was obscured by weather, traffic, camera angle, or terrain, approach from another direction and use a different camera view. Mark the location externally if the current game build does not provide a reliable in-game note.
What the settings change—and what they do not
Visual clarity versus item discovery
High Contrast mode addresses the difficulty of distinguishing visual elements. It may benefit players with low vision or anyone playing on a display where map and terrain details blend together. The announced material does not say that it changes collectible spawn behavior, adds outlines, or reveals hidden objects through walls.

Car Proximity Radar is about nearby cars. In first-person cockpit view, that awareness can make it safer to look toward the roadside, but the radar should not be interpreted as a sensor for collectibles or points of interest.

Relaxed driving versus automatic completion
AutoDrive is described as a way to sit back and appreciate the world. It can support a slow reconnaissance trip, especially when manual driving is tiring, but it does not establish a route to every collectible or perform pickups.
Map revelation versus completion status
Fog-of-war removal tells you where you have travelled and what you have seen in the map system. A fully revealed region can still contain uncollected items unless the game separately documents a completion indicator. Do not infer item completion from map coverage alone.
Platform and release details that affect availability
Playground Games announced Xbox Series X|S and PC availability with a launch date of May 19, 2026. The Premium Edition was announced with four days of early access, beginning May 15, 2026. The official FAQ says a PlayStation 5 version is planned later in 2026; that statement does not by itself confirm that the version has released, or that its settings match Xbox and PC. Check the current status in the official FAQ and the store or support page for your region before giving platform-specific instructions.

Settings may also be introduced or renamed in post-launch updates. A guide written against an early build can become inaccurate even when the underlying feature remains. Include the platform and update date whenever you document a menu path.

Screen narration and accessibility expectations
Microsoft’s Xbox Accessibility Guideline 106 says core game UI text, including options and HUD elements, should support platform screen readers or be voiced through a speech synthesizer. This is a platform guideline, not confirmation that a particular Forza Horizon 6 screen is narrated. Do not promise that every map label, collectible marker, or setting will be spoken. Consult the current game and platform documentation to determine which screens actually expose narration.
If spoken output is essential, test the settings menu, map, HUD, and any collectible-related screen separately. A platform-level screen reader may read interface text while omitting dynamic world objects, icons, or information rendered outside standard UI text.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshooting when an expected option is missing
- The setting is not listed: Confirm that the game is updated and that you are looking under the current Accessibility, Display, HUD, or Driving sections. Do not assume an older Horizon menu path still applies.
- High Contrast makes the map harder to read: Try a different contrast level or return to the default presentation. Contrast is a readability aid, not a requirement for collectible hunting.
- Radar is distracting: Turn it off while mapping roads, or use a camera view in which its indicators do not obscure the area you are examining.
- AutoDrive leaves you in the wrong place: Use it only on a route you have already planned and take control before junctions or search spots.
- The map is revealed but items remain: Treat this as expected unless your build explicitly reports collectible completion. Revisit the area and search physically rather than assuming the map is an inventory.
- Platform instructions conflict: Record the platform, game edition, update number, and region. Report the exact label shown in that build instead of presenting one platform’s path as universal.
How to verify a future collectible setting
If a later update adds a collectible aid, verify five details before calling it a tracker:
- Does the option name explicitly mention collectibles, or does it describe general markers, discovery, or map visibility?
- Does it place icons on the map, indicators on the HUD, outlines in the driving view, or only change contrast?
- Does it show uncollected items, previously collected items, or merely visited locations?
- Is it available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and any later platform release, or only on one build?
- Does enabling it alter challenge rules, rewards, exploration difficulty, or only presentation?
Capture the result from the live build and cite the current official support page or update notes. Until those details are documented, the accurate description is that accessibility tools can make exploration easier to perceive and manage, while a dedicated collectible tracker remains unconfirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can AutoDrive find and collect items while I am away from the controls?
No. AutoDrive is announced as a relaxed-driving option for appreciating the world. No official description says it detects, targets, or collects collectibles.
Does the announced car roster indicate how many collectibles are in the game?
No. The announcement’s figure of more than 550 cars is a vehicle-roster statistic, not a collectible count or evidence about HUD settings.
Will the PlayStation 5 version have the same accessibility menu?
That cannot be assumed. The FAQ describes PlayStation 5 as planned later in 2026, and platform-specific settings should be verified after the version and its updates are available.
Can Xbox screen narration be treated as proof that the Forza map is fully voiced?
No. Xbox Accessibility Guideline 106 is general platform guidance. It does not confirm narration for every map, HUD, or dynamic world element in this game.
