In the United States, Fortnite V-Bucks packs currently cost $8.99 for 800, $22.99 for 2,400, $36.99 for 4,500, or $89.99 for 12,500. Those prices and amounts took effect on March 19, 2026, and regional prices can differ. The larger packs provide more V-Bucks per dollar, but Epic Rewards, platform, card, refund and parental-control rules determine which option actually fits your purchase.
Current U.S. V-Bucks prices at a glance
Epic’s U.S. store lists four direct V-Bucks packs. The table below uses the displayed prices and calculates the approximate cost per 100 V-Bucks; the per-100 figures are arithmetic based on those U.S. prices, not a separate Epic discount.
| Displayed price | V-Bucks received | Epic’s displayed bonus | Approximate cost per 100 V-Bucks |
|---|---|---|---|
| $8.99 | 800 | None | $1.12 |
| $22.99 | 2,400 | 350 bonus; 17% extra versus the 800 pack | $0.96 |
| $36.99 | 4,500 | 1,200 bonus; 36% extra versus the 800 pack | $0.82 |
| $89.99 | 12,500 | 4,450 bonus; 56% extra versus the 800 pack | $0.72 |
The 17%, 36% and 56% labels use the 800-V-Bucks pack as Epic’s baseline. They describe the extra currency included in each larger pack, not a cash discount at checkout. The listed prices are U.S. store prices before any applicable taxes or local adjustments shown by your checkout.

What changed on March 19, 2026
Epic’s price-change notice says the current U.S. prices and amounts took effect on March 19, 2026. Compared with the previous U.S. offers, every direct pack now contains fewer V-Bucks at the same displayed price:

| $36.99 | 5,000 | 4,500 | 500 fewer |
| $89.99 | 13,500 | 12,500 | 1,000 fewer |
Epic’s March 10, 2026 announcement explained the change by saying, “The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.” That is Epic’s stated reason; it is not an independently verified cost analysis.
The announcement also said the exact-amount offer changed from about $0.50 to $0.99 per 50 V-Bucks. Treat that figure as the specific exact-amount pricing cited in the announcement, rather than as the per-unit price of one of the four standard packs.
Epic marks the amounts as subject to regional values. A player outside the United States may see a different currency, price, tax treatment or denomination, so the store attached to your account is the final authority before you pay.
Which pack is the best value?
If you know you will use the entire balance, the $89.99 pack has the lowest calculated U.S. cost per 100 V-Bucks, followed by the $36.99 and $22.99 packs. The $8.99 pack has the highest unit cost but the smallest cash commitment. “Best” therefore depends on whether you are optimizing unit price or limiting the amount charged today.
Choose the $8.99 pack when
- You need about 800 V-Bucks and do not want to leave a large unused balance.
- You are testing a purchase or buying for a child and want the smallest listed real-money transaction.
- You would otherwise buy a larger pack simply because its unit price is lower, even though the extra currency may never be spent.
Choose the $22.99 pack when
- You need more than 800 V-Bucks but do not want to commit to the two larger packs.
- The 350-V-Buck bonus is useful and the $22.99 charge fits your budget.
- You can use the 2,400-V-Buck balance before buying more.
Choose the $36.99 pack when
- You have a planned set of purchases that needs several thousand V-Bucks.
- The 1,200-V-Buck bonus matters more than keeping the upfront payment below $37.
- You want a lower calculated unit cost without moving to the $89.99 tier.
Choose the $89.99 pack when
- You have a specific plan for most or all of 12,500 V-Bucks.
- The lowest calculated U.S. cost per 100 V-Bucks is worth the highest upfront charge.
- You have confirmed that your payment method, family rules and platform route allow the transaction.
Do not treat a bonus as savings if it causes you to spend more than planned. A balance of V-Bucks is still in-game currency, not cash that can normally be returned to your payment method.

Direct packs, gift cards and exact-amount purchases
Direct packs
Epic lists direct-purchase increments of 800, 2,400, 4,500 and 12,500 V-Bucks. These are the four amounts shown in the current U.S. pack table. The Fortnite V-Bucks shop states that V-Bucks packs are non-refundable, so check the account, amount and payment route before confirming.
V-Bucks gift cards
Epic lists V-Bucks card denominations of 1,000, 2,800, 5,000 and 13,500 V-Bucks. Those denominations do not match the current direct-purchase packs. Existing cards still redeem for the printed value, according to Epic’s price announcement, so a card issued under an earlier pack structure does not automatically convert to the newer direct-pack amount.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesNo universal retail price is published for these denominations. A card’s cash cost, availability and redemption restrictions can vary by country and seller. Check the card’s region and the redemption instructions before buying; do not assume that a 5,000-V-Buck card costs the same amount everywhere.
Exact-amount options
Epic says selected platforms can purchase exact amounts, a feature it says began October 14, 2025. Whether the option appears, and which denomination is available, depends on the platform and region. If an exact amount is offered in your checkout, compare its regional price with a standard pack and buy only the amount you have a near-term use for.
Epic Rewards: credit later, not an instant discount
Eligible purchases in Fortnite, Fall Guys and Rocket League earn 20% back in Epic Rewards when purchased through the Epic Games Store or Epic’s payment system on PC, iOS, Android or the web. The 20% is rewards credit for later eligible spending through Epic payment; it does not reduce the V-Bucks pack’s listed checkout price immediately.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

How to account for Rewards when comparing packs
- Start with the price displayed for your region and platform.
- Confirm that the checkout uses Epic Games Store or Epic payment, rather than a platform payment route that is not listed as eligible.
- Check that the purchase is an eligible Fortnite transaction; the 20% rule is not a blanket promise for every payment or every platform.
- Only then treat the future rewards credit as a benefit. It is useful if you expect another eligible purchase, but it is not the same as receiving 20% more V-Bucks in the current transaction.
For example, a $36.99 eligible purchase would generate rewards credit calculated from that eligible spend, while the V-Bucks delivered at checkout would still be the amount shown for the selected pack. The credit’s later use must also be through eligible Epic payment.
How to compare the real cost before you buy
Use the same checks for every option rather than comparing the headline price alone:
- Regional checkout price: U.S. figures are not a promise of the price in another country.
- Currency delivered: compare the total V-Bucks, including any clearly identified bonus.
- Unit cost: divide the displayed price by the V-Bucks amount to estimate cost per 100.
- Payment route: determine whether the purchase is made through Epic’s listed Rewards-eligible channels.
- Denomination fit: a card or exact-amount purchase may leave less unused balance than a large pack.
- Refund status: Epic’s V-Bucks shop identifies packs as non-refundable.
- Family controls: separate the person authorized to charge real money from the person spending an existing V-Bucks balance.
For a simple calculation, use (displayed price ÷ V-Bucks received) × 100. Apply it to the price and amount actually shown in your store, not to an old screenshot or a card denomination from another region.
Setting Fortnite spending controls for a child
Epic’s parental controls address two different behaviors: charging real money through Epic payment and spending V-Bucks already on the account. Configure both if you want a complete household policy.
Require approval for Epic-payment purchases
- Open the Epic account’s parental-control settings while signed in as the parent or guardian.
- Create or enable the parental-control PIN for real-money purchases made with Epic payment.
- Keep the PIN private and do not reuse a code the child can guess.
- Have the child attempt the intended purchase only after you have reviewed the amount, pack and account.
- Enter the PIN yourself when you approve a transaction.
Menu wording and availability can vary by account and platform. Epic also recommends using the payment controls built into the console, phone or computer for purchases that do not use Epic payment.

Control spending of V-Bucks and paid random items
Epic provides a separate control for whether a child can spend V-Bucks, or content bought with V-Bucks, on paid random items. The availability of paid random items varies by region. A real-money purchase PIN does not by itself describe every use of an existing V-Bucks balance, so review this setting separately.
Understand the under-13 $100 limit
For a child who indicates they are under 13, Epic describes a $100 daily limit for combined purchases made using Epic Games payment. A purchase above that limit requires a parent or guardian’s PIN to override it.
This is not a universal Fortnite spending cap. The limit does not apply to payments on PlayStation, Steam, Xbox or Nintendo Switch, and it does not apply to purchases made with in-game currency such as V-Bucks. A child could therefore spend an existing V-Bucks balance even when the Epic-payment daily threshold has not changed. Use each platform’s own family or payment controls for console and device transactions.

Using an old price list
Screenshots showing 1,000 V-Bucks for $8.99 or 13,500 for $89.99 describe the previous U.S. amounts. Recheck the live store because the current U.S. amounts changed on March 19, 2026.
Assuming every region has the U.S. deal
Epic says regional values can differ. Do not convert the U.S. table into a local price with an exchange-rate calculation; open the store for the account and platform that will receive the V-Bucks.

Confusing Rewards with a discount
The 20% Epic Rewards figure is future credit on eligible routes. It does not mean the checkout price is automatically 20% lower or that the current pack contains 20% more V-Bucks.
Buying a card for the wrong region
Cards retain their printed V-Bucks value, but redemption and availability are tied to the card’s market and instructions. Verify compatibility before opening or purchasing a card.
Expecting a refund
The Fortnite V-Bucks shop identifies packs as non-refundable. Verify the player account, platform, denomination and payment authorization before selecting the final purchase button.

The under-13 limit covers combined purchases through Epic Games payment under the stated conditions. It excludes several platform payment systems and all purchases made with V-Bucks, so it cannot replace console, device and in-game controls.
A practical purchase checklist
- Sign in to the Fortnite account that should receive the currency.
- Confirm the country or region and open the live store for the platform you will use.
- Write down the exact price, V-Bucks amount and any displayed bonus.
- Calculate the approximate cost per 100 V-Bucks if you are comparing packs.
- Check whether the payment route is one of Epic’s listed 20%-Rewards-eligible channels.
- Compare a direct pack with a 1,000-, 2,800-, 5,000- or 13,500-V-Buck card, or an exact-amount option where your platform offers one.
- Review parental approval, platform family settings and the account’s existing V-Bucks balance.
- Confirm the non-refundable status and then authorize the purchase.
- Save the receipt and verify that the balance arrived on the intended account.
Bottom line for U.S. buyers
The current U.S. choices are $8.99 for 800 V-Bucks, $22.99 for 2,400, $36.99 for 4,500 and $89.99 for 12,500. Larger packs have lower calculated unit costs and Epic-displayed bonuses, while the smallest pack limits the immediate charge. Gift cards use different denominations and preserve their printed values; exact-amount purchases are platform- and region-dependent; and packs are non-refundable. Epic Rewards can return 20% as later eligible credit on specified Epic payment channels, but family limits still depend on where real money is charged and whether the child is spending V-Bucks already in the account.
