If a Fortnite skin or other cosmetic is missing, first confirm that Fortnite is signed in to the Epic Games account used for the purchase. Then check the in-game cosmetic purchase list, the order history of the store that charged you, and the device date and time. Epic says a recent purchase made through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung can take up to two hours to appear. If it is still missing, the company that processed the payment—not necessarily Epic—owns the next support step.
Start with the account Fortnite is actually using
A cosmetic entitlement is attached to an account. Being signed in on the right console profile is not enough if that profile is linked to a different Epic Games account from the one used at checkout.
- Open Fortnite and note the account name, display name, and account details shown in your profile.
- Compare that identity with the Epic Games account used when the purchase was made. Check the receipt email and the account currently signed in on the Epic account website.
- If you use more than one console profile, Epic account, or family account, sign out and back in with the purchasing account before troubleshooting anything else.
This check explains many apparent “missing skin” cases: the purchase exists, but the game is open under another account. Do not buy the cosmetic again until the account identity is settled.
Check every linked identity
Use the same Epic account and the same platform profile that completed checkout. A console can have several user profiles, and a household may share a device while using separate Epic accounts. Compare the account associated with the receipt, the account shown in Fortnite, and the account shown in the platform store. If any one is different, correct that mismatch before opening a support case.

For V-Bucks questions, also verify that you are signed in on the same platform account that received the currency. Epic’s Shared Wallet rules can make balances look different across platforms, so a balance problem should not be treated as proof that a cosmetic entitlement is gone. A purchased skin still requires the correct Epic account and a completed transaction.
Allow the normal delivery window and verify device time
For a recent purchase made through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or a Samsung device, Epic’s troubleshooting guidance allows up to two hours for the entitlement to appear. This is a support rule for recent transactions, not a guarantee that every purchase will arrive at the two-hour mark.
During the two-hour window
- Keep using the Epic account that made the purchase.
- Check that the device’s date, time, time zone, and automatic time setting are correct. A substantially incorrect clock can interfere with transaction validation.
- After the purchase has had time to process, close and reopen Fortnite and check the Locker again.
- If the platform’s instructions call for it after the account and time checks, reinstall Fortnite while signed in through the purchasing account.
If the item is still absent after the waiting period, continue with the records checks below. Reinstalling immediately is unlikely to fix an account mismatch or a transaction held by a platform store.

Check Fortnite’s cosmetic purchase history
Fortnite provides a recent cosmetic-purchase list that can confirm whether the game recorded the item. The list is limited to the last 30 days; an older purchase will not appear there even if it remains valid on the account.
In-game route
- Open Fortnite and open your player profile or the main menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Account and Privacy.
- Choose Return or Cancel Purchase to view eligible recent cosmetic purchases.
The exact placement of the profile or settings button can vary by platform and interface revision, but the relevant destination is the Account and Privacy area containing Return or Cancel Purchase.
Web route
- Sign in to the Epic account that should own the cosmetic.
- Open the Fortnite Item Shop.
- Open your profile menu and select the return or cancel-purchase area.
If the purchase was made more than 30 days ago, absence from this list is not proof that the entitlement is missing. Use the platform or Epic transaction record instead. Save a screenshot of the list when the purchase is recent; it can show support that Fortnite recognized the transaction even if the Locker view is not updating.
Find the transaction in the store that processed it
The payment channel determines which transaction history is authoritative. An Epic Games Store transaction is recorded in Epic’s Transaction History. A purchase charged by a console or mobile storefront is managed by that storefront and normally will not appear in Epic’s transaction-history page.

Match the receipt’s account, date, amount, item description, and order number against the account open in Fortnite. A charge shown only in a platform store is still useful evidence even though it is absent from Epic Transaction History.

Use the receipt as an account test
Search the email inbox for the store receipt, not just for “Fortnite.” The sender may be Epic, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or Samsung, depending on where you paid. Confirm which account received it, the exact purchase date, the amount, and whether the order is completed rather than pending, canceled, or refunded. If the receipt went to a different email address than the one used for the current Epic account, that is a strong sign to switch accounts or contact the platform account owner.
Use this decision path for a missing skin
If the purchase is recent and made on a console or Samsung device
- Confirm the Epic account and console or device account are the purchasing accounts.
- Correct the device date, time, and time zone.
- Wait up to two hours from the transaction.
- Restart Fortnite and inspect the Locker and the recent cosmetic-purchase area.
- If the item remains missing, check the platform order history and prepare the receipt for support.
If the item is listed in cosmetic purchase history but not in the Locker
The game has recorded the cosmetic, so focus on account context and display state rather than buying it again. Recheck the profile identity, switch to the correct account if necessary, and restart Fortnite. If the purchase record and the account are correct but the Locker still omits the item, include screenshots of the record and Locker in a support request.
If the platform charged you but Epic has no transaction record
This is expected for purchases processed by PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop, or Samsung Galaxy Store. Use the platform’s order history and contact that platform if the entitlement does not arrive after the two-hour guidance window. Epic cannot replace a platform’s missing order record.

If Epic Transaction History contains the order
For an Epic Games Store purchase, retain the order number, amount, date, and item name and submit them to Epic Games Support if the cosmetic remains absent. State which platform you play on and identify the Epic account currently displayed in Fortnite.
If the order is pending, canceled, or duplicated
A pending platform order is not the same as a completed charge with a missing entitlement. Wait for the store to finalize it and avoid attempting another checkout. If two completed orders appear, document both order numbers and amounts and ask the processor to investigate the duplicate rather than requesting a second purchase.
Who should you contact?
Support ownership follows the payment processor, not the device on which you happen to play.
- Epic Games Store purchase: contact Epic Games Support with the Epic order number, amount purchased, platform played on, and the account identity shown in Fortnite.
- PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo purchase: contact the platform’s support team after completing the account, time, waiting-period, and order-history checks. Epic’s guidance directs these platform purchases back to the relevant platform.
- Samsung purchase: use the Samsung storefront record and its support channel if the purchase remains missing after the waiting period.
For a cosmetic bought with real money, send the receipt and the platform transaction record to the seller or platform that actually processed the payment. Instructions for missing V-Bucks are related but are not automatically the right route for a missing skin.

What information to gather before opening a ticket
Support can investigate faster when the purchase is uniquely identifiable. Gather:

- The Epic display name and account details shown in Fortnite.
- The console, PC, or Samsung device on which you play.
- The store that charged you.
- The receipt email and order or transaction number.
- The purchase date, item name, and amount.
- A screenshot of the platform order history, if the purchase was made outside the Epic Games Store.
- A screenshot of Fortnite’s recent cosmetic-purchase area, if the transaction is within 30 days.
- A short timeline: when you paid, when you first checked, whether the item ever appeared, and whether any refund or payment reversal occurred.
Describe the problem precisely: say whether the skin never appeared, appeared and disappeared, appears in purchase history but not the Locker, or was bought with V-Bucks by mistake. Include the platform and account names without posting sensitive credentials publicly. Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, security codes, or two-factor authentication codes. The order number and account identifiers are the useful evidence.
When a skin appeared and then disappeared
A cosmetic that never appeared follows a different path from one that was visible and later removed. Epic says an item can be removed after a refund or payment reversal. Player Support cannot restore items removed for those reasons.
Check for a refund or reversed payment
- Review the store receipt, bank statement, and refund notices for the transaction.
- Check whether a charge was reversed, disputed, or refunded after the cosmetic was delivered.
- If you believe the removal was an error, contact the payment provider. For a third-party platform purchase, contact that platform’s support as well.
Do not describe a reversed transaction as a delivery delay. The evidence and the remedy are different: a delayed entitlement requires transaction tracing, while a reversed payment can invalidate the entitlement.
Do not confuse a missing entitlement with an unwanted purchase
If you bought the wrong Item Shop cosmetic with V-Bucks, that is a refund or cancellation question, not a missing-purchase question.
Cancel Purchase
Epic says Cancel Purchase can be available for an eligible Item Shop purchase for 24 hours after buying, provided the item has not been used or equipped. If the item was equipped or otherwise used, the cancellation condition may no longer be met.
Return Tickets
Eligible purchases made within the last 30 days may qualify for a Return Ticket. Exclusions apply and tickets are limited. Returning the item removes it from the account and returns the V-Bucks; it does not restore a cosmetic that is missing because of an account or delivery problem.
Use the Return or Cancel Purchase area only when you intend to undo an eligible purchase. Do not submit a return request simply because the item is temporarily delayed.

- Refresh the V-Bucks balance by leaving and reopening the relevant Fortnite screen.
- Verify that you are signed in to the account that made the return.
- Check whether the returned currency was credited to a different platform balance.
- Restart Fortnite and check again.
This balance-refresh process applies to V-Bucks returned after a cosmetic refund. It is separate from investigating a cosmetic that was never delivered.

Before you buy the item again
- Confirm the Epic account name displayed in Fortnite.
- Confirm the console or storefront account that will be charged.
- Save the receipt email and order number.
- Wait through the stated processing window for a recent platform purchase.
- Check the platform order history before assuming the first transaction failed.
A second purchase can create two valid charges without fixing the original account or delivery problem. Establish where the first transaction went before attempting another checkout.

Can I return a skin that is missing?
No. Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets are for eligible unwanted Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. Cancel Purchase may be available for 24 hours if the item was not used; Return Tickets may cover eligible purchases within 30 days and are limited.
Should I reinstall Fortnite?
Do not reinstall as the first step. Confirm the account, device time, waiting period, and transaction record first. If the platform’s troubleshooting sequence requests a reinstall, do it while signed in through the purchasing account.
