The Extraction Accelerator silently starts a nearby Extraction Site and instantly summons its Extraction Crate. It is a seasonal Extraction Gizmo in Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 4: Override—not a permanent upgrade—and Epic does not confirm an Accelerator-specific quest count in its official guidance.
What does the Extraction Accelerator do?
Epic’s v42.00 update notes describe the effect as: “Silently initiate a nearby Extraction Site, summoning the Extraction Crate instantly.” In practical terms, it lets you trigger a nearby Sprite extraction with less sound and without waiting for the crate to arrive. Epic does not publish a specific timing statistic for the item.
The Accelerator is one of Fortnite’s Extraction Gizmos, which Epic classifies as consumables that speed up or enhance Sprite extraction. Override introduced the Sprite Garden and Sprite Dust Loot Hacks as part of its Battle Royale changes. Epic’s v42.00 update notes and its Override announcement provide the season context.
How do you use an Extraction Gizmo?
Epic says Extraction Gizmos are accessed through the pickaxe slot. Use the in-game Gizmo Wheel and the prompts shown at the Extraction Site to select and activate the item. Exact button inputs can depend on your platform and may change, so follow the current on-screen instructions rather than relying on a fixed button combination.

How can you get more Extraction Gizmos?
Epic lists three general ways to earn Extraction Gizmos:
- Complete Bonus Goals quests.
- Trade in Sprite Dust.
- Progress through Sprite Mastery.
These are general Gizmo sources, not a confirmed Accelerator-specific unlock recipe. A third-party guide claims that three Override Daily Quests grant an Accelerator, but Epic’s support article and v42.00 notes do not confirm that quest count or the guide’s specific objectives. Check the current Quests tab for available tasks and their displayed rewards.

You do not need to buy the Override Battle Pass or subscribe to Fortnite Crew simply to follow Epic’s listed gameplay routes for earning Gizmos. The Battle Pass is a separate optional purchase. Epic lists it as available through Fortnite Crew or for 800 V-Bucks; its page says the Override Battle Pass ends November 1, 2026, Eastern Time. See Epic’s Override Battle Pass page for the current details.

Do Extraction Gizmos disappear at season end?
Yes. Epic says Gizmo inventory persists throughout the season and expires when the season ends. Gizmos also cannot be traded or dropped when you are eliminated, so they are not transferable to another player.

For the live expiration date and time, check the timer on the Battle Royale mode-selection screen or in the in-match Gizmo Wheel. Epic’s Override Battle Pass page gives November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, as the Battle Pass end date, but use the in-game Gizmo timer for the item’s seasonal expiration.

- No Accelerator visible: Look in the Gizmo Wheel accessed through the pickaxe slot, then check current Bonus Goals, Sprite Dust trades, and Sprite Mastery progress.
- A quest guide does not match your game: Treat the Quests tab and the reward shown in-game as authoritative; the exact three-Daily-Quest requirement is not confirmed by Epic’s reviewed sources.
- Unsure of the controls: Use the prompt displayed in your current match at the Extraction Site. A platform-specific button sequence is not established in Epic’s cited notes.
- Checking whether the item will still be available: Read the live timer in the mode-selection screen or Gizmo Wheel, since inventory expires at season end.
Epic’s official explanations are available in What are Extraction Gizmos in Fortnite? and the v42.00 Override update notes.
