In Chapter 7 Season 4, players could reportedly get a Fortnite 1-Up Token from a Llama Supply Drop Gizmo, by defeating Doctor Eggman, or through the Extra Life Match Override at an Override Console. The token’s purpose is to bring you back after elimination with your inventory. These routes are season-specific, and current-season availability is not confirmed.
What the 1-Up Token does
Epic’s v42.00 Fortnite Override update notes describe the 1-Up Token as letting you “Respawn with your full inventory after you’ve been eliminated.” A guide updated August 21, 2026 reports that the effect triggers automatically when you are eliminated; you do not activate it with a button. The guide also says you return with full health.

The Extra Life Match Override is a related but distinct mechanic. Epic describes it as letting you “Respawn when on the brink of elimination one time.” It is one possible Override outcome, not a guarantee that every Override grants a 1-Up Token.
How to get a 1-Up Token in Chapter 7 Season 4
A guide updated August 21, 2026 reports three ways to obtain one during that season:
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
Use a Llama Supply Drop Gizmo
Use the Gizmo to call in a supply drop, then loot its crate. The guide reports that the 1-Up Token can be found there.
Defeat Doctor Eggman
The guide reports that Doctor Eggman drops a 1-Up Token when defeated.
Rank #2
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts

- Redemption: Online
Get the Extra Life Match Override
Activate an Override Console and receive the Extra Life outcome. That outcome grants one respawn; the guide identifies it as another route to the extra-life effect. The outcome is not guaranteed when using an Override Console.

Is the 1-Up Token available now?
Availability beyond Chapter 7 Season 4 is not confirmed. An item snapshot dated October 7, 2026 records the token for Chapter 7 Season 4 and says, “Historical records do not confirm availability in the current season.” Check the live in-game loot pool and current update notes before relying on any of these routes.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
What is not confirmed
- Token spawn rates or Doctor Eggman’s drop probability.
- Exact Override Console locations.
- Whether any of the three reported routes remain available in a later season.
Epic’s v42.00 notes confirm the token’s inventory-retaining respawn effect and the Extra Life Override description, but do not independently document all three acquisition routes. The routes above are reported by the season-specific guide, rather than guaranteed current instructions.
