Jaime Leverton was appointed CEO of Fortitude Mining Holdings effective September 21, 2026, succeeding Andrea Childs, who moved into the COO role. Fortitude announced the change on September 17. The company tied the appointment to its Zcash-focused mining strategy and proposed public-market plans, but its planned combination with HeartSciences and proposed Nasdaq ticker remained conditional in the cited announcements.
What changed at Fortitude Mining Holdings?
Fortitude announced that Jaime Leverton would become chief executive officer on September 21, 2026. The company’s board also approved her appointment as a director. Andrea Childs, who had been CEO, was to transition to chief operating officer on the same date. Fortitude’s September 17 announcement, filed with the SEC, records the change.
The announcement connects the leadership transition to Fortitude’s expansion of its digital-asset mining strategy and progress toward a proposed public listing. The appointment itself is confirmed; it does not establish that a business combination closed or that a planned listing was approved.
Who are Jaime Leverton and Andrea Childs?
Jaime Leverton
Fortitude describes Leverton as having more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning digital assets, capital markets, data-center infrastructure, energy, and computing, including experience as a public-company CEO in digital-asset mining. That résumé summary is the company’s characterization; the appointment announcement is not a detailed independent account of her career.

Leverton said: “I have spent my career at the intersection of digital assets, infrastructure, and the public markets, and I am honored to lead this team at such a consequential moment for the Company.” The quotation appeared in Fortitude’s announcement.
Andrea Childs
Childs moved from CEO to COO, retaining a focus on mining operations, fleet and infrastructure strategy, and industry relationships. She said her focus would be “mining operations, fleet and infrastructure strategy, and the industry relationships that have defined Fortitude’s growth.” This was her stated view in the company’s announcement.

Why did Fortitude make the change?
Fortitude presents itself as a vertically integrated digital-asset mining platform anchored in Zcash, with a venture-mining approach across proof-of-work networks. The leadership announcement frames Leverton’s appointment as part of that strategy and the company’s preparations for a possible move into public markets. These are Fortitude’s descriptions of its strategy, not evidence that the strategy has achieved a particular operating or financial result.

How does the proposed HeartSciences deal fit in?
In June 2026, Fortitude and Nasdaq-listed HeartSciences announced a proposed all-stock business combination. Their announcement said the combined company was expected to operate under the Fortitude brand and seek Nasdaq trading under the symbol TUDE, subject to Nasdaq approval. The June 23 announcement filed with the SEC describes those plans as a proposed transaction.

Accordingly, the cited announcements do not establish that the combination has closed, that the combined company is operating under the Fortitude name, or that Nasdaq has approved TUDE. The CEO appointment should not be read as confirmation of any of those outcomes.
