The best flight-deal alert service depends on your departure airport, flexibility, cabin preference and willingness to use points. Going is the lower-cost listed option for U.S. travelers seeking broad economy alerts, with a higher tier for premium cabins. Dollar Flight Club separates economy coverage from premium-cabin alerts and allows multiple origins on its paid plan. Thrifty Traveler is the broadest fit for travelers who want advertised points-and-miles, premium-cabin and text-alert features from U.S. and Canadian cities. Jack’s Flight Club is worth investigating for worldwide, curated alerts, but its current plans could not be verified.

That model is different from entering “New York to Rome, 10–20 June” into a route tracker. If your dates and destination are fixed, verify that a service offers route-specific monitoring before subscribing; the descriptions summarized here do not establish that all four services do.
What happens after an alert arrives
An alert is information and a booking link, not a ticket or a guaranteed fare. Going explicitly says it is “not a travel agency, flight search engine, or travel booking site.” Thrifty Traveler likewise provides instructions while the traveler books directly with an airline or hotel. Going says an online travel agency may sometimes be used, but booking is typically direct with the airline.

- Compare the displayed fare with the airline’s own checkout page when possible.
- Check whether the fare is cash, an award ticket or a transfer-points opportunity.
- Book only after confirming that the itinerary works for your schedule and travel documents.
Going: a U.S.-airport economy funnel with a premium-cabin tier
Going lists three annual membership levels. Limited is free and provides a sample of economy deals to destinations in the continental United States. Premium is listed at $49 billed annually and adds domestic and international economy deals plus custom destination alerts. Elite is listed at $199 billed annually and adds premium-economy, business-class and first-class deals.

Going says it searches from U.S. departure airports, including airports in all 50 states, St. Thomas, Guam and Puerto Rico. That stated geography makes it a poor fit if your usable origin is outside those locations. It is a reasonable starting point for a U.S.-based traveler who can let a fare influence the destination, rather than someone demanding one exact itinerary.

The cited help information says paid plans automatically renew each year and are non-refundable. It also says a 14-day trial converts to the annual plan at the listed price. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Read the checkout terms carefully if you do not want a renewal.
Airport choice matters: Dollar Flight Club warns that airports do not all receive the same number of deals. Selecting four origins can help a traveler who can reach several airports, but it does not guarantee equal alert volume from each one.
Thrifty Traveler: points, premium cabins and text alerts
Thrifty Traveler lists Premium at $129.99 per year and Premium+ at $189.99 per year. Its membership page advertises instant email alerts, cash and points deals, business- and first-class fares, text alerts for mistake fares, and coverage from more than 200 U.S. and Canadian departure cities. The “200+” figure is the provider’s advertised count, not an independently audited airport total.

Free members receive alerts later; the page lists a 24-hour delay. That timing difference can matter for mistake fares, which may disappear quickly. The page also advertises a 100-day refund offer. Treat the refund language and displayed prices as page claims and confirm the conditions during checkout.
This service is the most natural candidate for a traveler who actively collects points, wants award-seat ideas or values a combined flight-and-hotel alert stream. Its higher listed price only makes sense if those features are useful to you; it does not establish superior savings.
Jack’s Flight Club: a possible worldwide option with unverified current terms
A search-result description for Jack’s Flight Club says its alerts cover worldwide destinations, prioritize full-service airlines and include a budget-airline deal when that fare is particularly good. The provider page returned a fetch error during the comparison, so no current plan name, price, trial, airport limit or regional eligibility can be confirmed here.
Use the description as a reason to investigate, not as a basis for a purchase decision. Confirm the current membership page, renewal policy and departure-city coverage directly before entering payment details.
Compare the prices by usable coverage, not by the sticker amount
The listed annual prices range from free samples to premium memberships costing nearly $190. A higher price does not prove that alerts are more valuable. The relevant calculation is whether you can act on enough deals to justify the fee.

- Check origin coverage: Is your home airport included, and can you select alternate airports you can realistically reach?
- Check the fare class: If you only fly economy, a business-class tier may add little value. If you redeem miles, an economy-cash newsletter may not answer your main question.
- Check timing: Delayed free alerts may be unsuitable for short-lived mistake fares.
- Check renewal: Compare the full recurring annual charge, not a trial or introductory message.
- Check booking effort: Decide whether you can search nearby dates, airports and routings when an alert arrives.
There is no independent comparative study in the available material showing which provider delivers the greatest savings or the highest success rate. Do not assume a membership will pay for itself.

You are destination-flexible and based in the United States
Start with Going Premium if domestic and international economy fares are enough. Its listed $49 annual price is the lowest paid figure among the services compared, but the value depends on receiving deals from an airport you can use. The free Limited tier can show the service’s style before you commit.
You can use several nearby airports
Dollar Flight Club Premium is designed around up to four selected origins. This can suit travelers who live between metropolitan areas or routinely compare nearby airports. Remember that the provider says deal frequency varies by airport.
You use airline miles or transferable points
Examine Thrifty Traveler Premium first because its published features explicitly include points deals. Verify whether the alert explains the required program, transfer path, taxes and fees, and seat availability before valuing an award itinerary.
You want business or first class
Going Elite, Dollar Flight Club Premium Plus+ and Thrifty Traveler’s advertised Premium and Premium+ features all address premium cabins, but they package them differently. Compare the origin airports, whether alerts are cash or award fares, and how quickly you can act. The listed prices alone do not identify a winner.

You need hotels in the same workflow
Thrifty Traveler Premium+ is the only tier in this comparison that advertises hotel deals and alerts in addition to flights. That is useful if you want one membership to surface both parts of a trip; it is unnecessary if you already arrange lodging elsewhere.
You live outside the United States and Canada
Do not infer worldwide coverage from a service’s destination list. Going describes U.S. departure airports, and Thrifty Traveler advertises U.S. and Canadian departure cities. Dollar Flight Club’s cited information does not establish a worldwide airport network. Jack’s Flight Club describes worldwide destinations, but its current origin eligibility was not verifiable.
Booking and subscription checks that prevent surprises
Before subscribing
- Write down every airport you can realistically use, including transport time and positioning-flight cost.
- Decide whether you want destination inspiration or monitoring for one fixed route.
- Choose economy, premium economy, business, first class, cash or points as your primary target.
- Record the full annual price shown at checkout and the renewal date.
When an alert arrives
- Check live inventory immediately; an alert can outlast the fare it describes.
- Review baggage, seat, change and cancellation rules, especially on budget-airline itineraries.
- For points deals, confirm award inventory and the exact mileage and cash requirements.
- Compare the airline’s direct price and payment conditions before using another seller.
After booking
Save the confirmation, fare rules and alert details. If a subscription has an automatic renewal, set a calendar reminder before the renewal date.
