Flight Centre Silver Annual Multi Trip is designed for Australian residents who take several trips a year, but whether it suits you depends on the maximum length of each trip, your cover needs and the premium quoted for your itinerary. Available evidence lists 30-, 45- or 60-day trip options and substantial medical cover overseas; the limits remain subject to the applicable policy wording, certificate, exclusions, sub-limits and excess.

What is Flight Centre Silver Annual Multi Trip?

It is an annual travel-insurance option intended for frequent travellers. Rather than buying a separate policy for each journey, an annual multi-trip policy can cover multiple trips during its policy period, subject to the selected trip-duration option and other policy conditions. Flight Centre says its annual product offers options for the duration of each trip: Flight Centre Travel Insurance.

This is a review of the Silver option based on publicly available product information and a 2025 policy document. There is an important version discrepancy: Flight Centre’s current insurance page identifies Europ Assistance Australia Pty Ltd as insurer, while CHOICE’s Silver Annual Multi Trip listing names Mitsui Sumitomo. A copy of a 2025 PDS also names Mitsui Sumitomo, but it is hosted outside Flight Centre’s domain. Do not assume that document governs a policy bought now. Check the current official PDS and the insurer and terms stated on your own certificate before relying on a specific provision.

Who may be eligible, and how long can each trip last?

CHOICE lists a maximum age of 79 and trip-duration options of 30, 45 or 60 days for the named Silver Annual Multi Trip product. The retrieved 2025 PDS copy describes eligibility for Australian residents, a policyholder over 18, and policies covering up to ten people; it also says children under 16 must be supervised by an adult. Confirm all eligibility rules and options in the current official wording before purchase, because the available PDS copy may not be the version governing new sales.

The duration limit applies to each trip, not just the year as a whole. The retrieved PDS says cover ends when a trip exceeds the maximum duration shown on the certificate, among other end points. If you expect to stay away longer than your selected allowance, check whether a suitable extension or another policy is available before travel; do not assume the annual policy will continue covering the over-limit portion.

What does Silver cover?

The figures below are benefit limits stated in the 2025 PDS copy or, where noted, CHOICE’s public product listing. They are not guarantees of payment. The PDS says its benefit tables are summaries and that conditions, exclusions, sub-limits and excesses may apply. Your current PDS and certificate take precedence.

Benefit Available stated limit or condition Source and qualification
Overseas medical and other expenses Unlimited 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; terms, exclusions and excess still apply.
Emergency dental $2,000 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy.
Cancellation Up to the limit specified on the certificate 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; no fixed Silver amount is established in the available material.
Personal belongings and baggage $10,000 combined 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; CHOICE also lists $10,000.
Other baggage, per item $750 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; CHOICE also lists $750.
Laptop/tablet and camera items $2,000 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; CHOICE lists the same amount.
Smartphones $1,500 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; CHOICE lists the same amount.
Travel delay $200 per day, up to $2,000 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy. CHOICE describes the benefit as $200 per 24 hours up to $2,000 after a 12-hour delay; confirm the trigger and evidence requirements in current wording.
Rental-car excess waiver $5,000 2025 Flight Centre PDS copy; CHOICE also lists $5,000.
Special-event additional expenses $3,000 CHOICE public product listing.
Cruise and snow-sports cover Optional, according to CHOICE Check current policy wording for availability, conditions and exact terms.

Where are the main limitations?

Cancellation depends on your certificate

The available PDS summary does not establish a single cancellation limit for every Silver customer: it directs policyholders to the amount on the certificate. Compare that figure with the non-refundable costs you want insured, and check what events qualify, how excess applies and whether any relevant booking or timing rules affect a claim.

Baggage limits are split across categories

The $10,000 combined baggage and personal-belongings maximum is not the same as a $10,000 allowance for one item. The available material gives lower item limits for general baggage and specific limits for electronics. Check how the policy classifies your belongings, whether the stated category limits are per item or otherwise qualified in the wording, and what proof of ownership or value may be required.

Medical cover still has terms

“Unlimited” is the stated maximum for overseas medical and other expenses in the 2025 PDS copy, not a promise that every medical cost will be paid. Read the definitions, exclusions, excess and any activity-specific conditions, and confirm how medical assistance and evacuation are addressed in the current wording for your destination and plans.

Pre-existing conditions require a case-specific check

Flight Centre says conditions not automatically covered may be submitted for screening; an additional premium may be required and acceptance is not guaranteed. Disclose relevant conditions accurately and obtain confirmation of the decision and any terms before relying on cover. The official page describes the screening process at Flight Centre Travel Insurance.

How to decide whether Silver fits your travel pattern

Annual cover can be convenient for someone taking multiple trips, but the available sources do not establish a premium or an independent value verdict. Flight Centre says pricing depends on destination, dates, policy type and plan, the number and ages of insured people, and selected options or add-ons. Compare quotes for your actual trips rather than assuming that annual cover is cheaper than separate policies.

  • Check trip length: Choose an available 30-, 45- or 60-day option only if it accommodates each trip you expect to take.
  • Check trip geography: The retrieved PDS describes overseas and Australian trips, but confirm which domestic and international travel is covered under the current policy and your chosen configuration.
  • Match limits to costs: Confirm the cancellation amount on your certificate and assess whether the baggage and electronics item limits suit what you plan to take.
  • Check activities and add-ons: Confirm current availability and conditions for cruise or snow-sports cover if relevant, along with any activity exclusions.
  • Compare like for like: Request a quote using your destinations, travel dates, travellers, trip frequency and required options; then compare the premium and policy terms against alternatives.

What to verify before buying

  1. Open the current official PDS, Target Market Determination and certificate information from Flight Centre’s travel-insurance page.
  2. Confirm the insurer, policy version, eligibility rules, maximum age, trip-duration option and whether the policy covers the domestic and overseas trips you intend to take.
  3. Read the cancellation limit, excess, medical and evacuation provisions, baggage sub-limits, delay trigger, rental-car terms, activity conditions, exclusions and pre-existing-condition decision rules.
  4. Check destination-specific restrictions and any conditions for cruise, winter sports or other planned activities.
  5. Keep your certificate and relevant booking, ownership and expense records, and make sure the selected dates and travellers match your actual arrangements.

Flight Centre describes a 21-day cooling-off period, subject to conditions including that no claim has been made, no policy benefits have been used and the trip has not started. Verify the current PDS conditions and any other eligibility requirements before treating this as an option to cancel.
