Choose the Fitbit Charge 5 if you want built-in GPS for outdoor routes without carrying your phone, a color AMOLED display, or extra sensor features including EDA Scan and compatibility with Fitbit’s ECG app. Choose the Fitbit Inspire 2 if core activity, sleep, and heart-rate tracking is enough and the longer stated battery estimate matters more: Fitbit lists up to 10 days for Inspire 2 versus up to 7 days for Charge 5. Those are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed real-world runtimes.

Which Fitbit has built-in GPS?
The Charge 5. Its manual lists built-in GPS and GLONASS, while Fitbit’s comparison chart identifies Inspire 2 as using phone-connected GPS. If you want to leave your phone behind while recording an outdoor route, that distinction makes Charge 5 the clearer choice.
With Inspire 2, GPS tracking depends on a connected phone. Both devices still cover everyday activity tracking such as steps and distance, but their GPS arrangements are not interchangeable.
Which one lasts longer on a charge?
Fitbit lists up to 10 days for Inspire 2 and up to 7 days for Charge 5 in its comparison chart. The Inspire 2 manual also gives an estimate of up to 10 days and says actual battery life and charge cycles vary with use and other factors. The figures are manufacturer estimates, not independent battery-test results or a promise that every user will get that runtime.

What extra health features does Charge 5 add?
EDA Scan
Charge 5 includes electrical sensors compatible with EDA Scan. Google’s 2021 product announcement says the feature measures the body’s response to stress through tiny changes in sweat glands on the fingers. This describes the sensor’s intended function; it should not be treated as a diagnosis or proof of a health outcome.
ECG app compatibility
Charge 5 is compatible with the Google ECG app. Google’s ECG app help page describes a 30-second recording of electrical signals from the heartbeat. App availability depends on location and eligibility, so confirm it is available to you before choosing the tracker for this feature. Compatibility and a recording do not, by themselves, establish a diagnosis.

These additions make Charge 5 the more feature-rich choice on paper, but the available product documentation does not establish that its sensors are more accurate than Inspire 2’s, or that either model is superior in a head-to-head accuracy test.
Which tracker should you choose?
Choose Charge 5 if
- You want built-in GPS and do not want to rely on your phone for route recording.
- You prefer a color AMOLED display.

Neither device has an established advantage in comparative sensor accuracy based on the available documentation. Current new-product availability and prices are also not established here, so check the seller and the condition of any listing rather than assuming either tracker is currently sold new.
