The Fisher & Paykel HP90IDCHX4 is a 90cm Series 7 insert rangehood designed to sit within cabinetry. Its published maximum air movement is 780 m³/hr, but that is a manufacturer rating—not an independently measured extraction result. Whether it is a good fit depends first on your cabinet opening and ventilation route; the available evidence does not establish how it performs for noise or extraction in a real kitchen.
What the HP90IDCHX4 offers
Fisher & Paykel lists three fan speeds plus boost, perimeter extraction, a dimmable LED strip, a run-on timer, and Wi-Fi notifications through SmartHQ when filters need attention. The manufacturer describes the run-on feature as operating for up to 15 minutes; that feature description does not establish how effectively it removes lingering cooking odours. The product is intended to pair with compatible cooktops, but check compatibility for your specific appliances and market on the Fisher & Paykel product page.
Its edge-to-edge extraction and hidden, cabinetry-integrated form are central to the design. Fisher & Paykel’s own description says, “With edge-to-edge extraction, this rangehood is perfectly hidden away in your cabinetry.” That is the manufacturer’s design claim, not an independent assessment of fit or extraction.
Will it fit your cabinetry?
The current product page and Fisher & Paykel’s quick reference guide dated 10 March 2026 list overall dimensions of 830 mm wide, 316 mm high, and 280 mm deep. Those measurements describe the appliance, not the cabinet opening needed to install it.

A preliminary manufacturer guide dated 28 November 2022 lists a standard cutout of 800 × 260 mm, but expressly warns that the guide is preliminary, may be superseded, and is not installation guidance. Do not use that older cutout measurement as a template for cabinetry or a building alteration. Have your installer check the current installation guide for the exact production version and confirm the opening, fixing method, clearances, and local requirements before work begins. Does the ventilation setup suit your kitchen?
The manufacturer lists top ducted extraction and optional top extraction for recirculation. The product page lists 150 mm and 120 mm outlet sizes and separately sold eave, roof, and side-wall ducting kits. The right arrangement depends on the route available in your home; confirm the outlet, duct path, accessories, and local installation requirements with your installer.

For recirculation, Fisher & Paykel identifies carbon filter part 793599 as a separate accessory. Confirm that the filter and any other parts are available and compatible with the precise model version in your country before choosing this setup. Ducted and recirculating arrangements are not interchangeable without checking the required parts and installation instructions.
How strong is the published extraction figure?
Fisher & Paykel lists maximum air movement of 780 m³/hr on its current product page and in its 2026 quick reference guide. Treat this as a manufacturer-published rating, not a measured result from an independent test or a guarantee of what the hood will deliver once installed. No comparable independent extraction measurements or sound measurements were established for this model in the available evidence, so there is no basis here for a performance or noise comparison with other hoods.

What is known about filters and day-to-day use?
The 2026 quick reference guide lists an aluminium filter, part 792943, as included. Fisher & Paykel describes the two mesh filters as dishwasher-safe, and SmartHQ notifications can alert users when filters need attention. Check the current user guide for cleaning instructions and any care conditions before putting filters in a dishwasher.
The feature list gives the model practical conveniences—multiple speeds, boost, dimmable lighting, and a timer—but it does not establish long-term reliability, lifespan, energy use, or how loud the fan is at each setting. Those are useful questions to ask an installer or retailer, but the available specifications do not answer them.

How to decide whether to buy it
- Start with the cabinet: compare the appliance’s 830 × 316 × 280 mm overall dimensions with the current model-specific installation requirements, not the 2022 preliminary cutout drawing.
- Plan the air route: determine whether your kitchen can use top ducting or needs recirculation, then verify the parts required for that arrangement.
- Check the evidence you care about: if noise or extraction under realistic conditions is decisive, seek comparable independent measurements. The 780 m³/hr rating alone does not supply them.
- Confirm local support: check availability of the carbon filter and replacement parts, plus installation support, in your country.
- Compare like with like: for another 90cm integrated hood, compare cabinet dimensions and cutout, ventilation options and filter costs, independently measured extraction and sound, controls and maintenance, and local parts support.
The HP90IDCHX4 is best considered when its integrated form and feature set suit your kitchen and an installer confirms the cabinetry and ventilation plan. The published specifications make it possible to screen for fit and features, but they do not establish real-world noise or extraction performance.
