The Fisher & Paykel HC90DCXB3 is a 90 cm wall-mounted rangehood with ducted extraction or optional recirculation. Its published maximum airflow is 780 m³/h and maximum sound rating is 65 dBA, but these are manufacturer specifications—not independent performance-test results. The Australian product page marks it “OUTGOING,” and CHOICE lists it as discontinued, so check availability and current documentation in your market before making plans around this model.
What the HC90DCXB3 is—and whether it fits
This is a Series 7 box chimney wall rangehood finished in stainless steel and glass. Fisher & Paykel lists it at 898 mm wide, 500 mm deep and 595–1035 mm high, with an adjustable chimney. Check the full installation drawing and the space around your cooktop before purchase; the width alone does not establish that the hood will fit your cabinetry or installation.
The manufacturer specifies a 220–240 V supply and 248 W total power: a 240 W motor and 8 W of lighting. These are published product figures, not measurements of energy use in a particular household.
How to interpret the airflow and noise ratings
Fisher & Paykel lists maximum air movement of 780 m³/h and a maximum sound rating of 65 dBA. Treat both as manufacturer specifications. They do not establish how effectively the hood captures cooking fumes in a specific kitchen, or how loud it will be at each fan speed and installation configuration. The available CHOICE listing does not expose its ducted expert rating, performance score or noise score publicly, so those figures cannot be used here to make an independent performance verdict.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
CHOICE’s separate recirculating listing shows a 65% recirculating-mode score. That is a mode-specific listing result, not an overall product score and not a substitute for the unavailable ducted results.
Ducted extraction or recirculation?
Ducted installation
The manufacturer lists top ducted extraction. CHOICE’s ducted listing gives a recommended duct diameter of 150 mm and a mounting-height range of 600–700 mm above the stove. Treat those as listing details to verify—not installation instructions. Confirm requirements in the current manual, against the cooktop documentation and with a qualified installer familiar with local rules.

Recirculating installation
Top-extraction recirculation is an optional configuration, not the same as venting air outdoors. It requires separately sold carbon filters. CHOICE identifies filter 792481, says two are required and lists a three-month replacement interval. That interval is a listing detail, not a guaranteed schedule for every household; check the current manual and account for actual usage when planning replacements.

The manufacturer also lists optional accessories including a recirculation diverter (792560), chimney extension (792492), and eave, roof and side-wall ducting kits (PD-RHK150E, PD-RHK150T and PD-RHK150W). Confirm that any accessory is available and compatible with your exact installation in your market before ordering.

The Australian Fisher & Paykel page calls the model “OUTGOING,” while CHOICE’s ducted listing labels it discontinued. Those status labels concern the Australian pages and do not prove that the model is unavailable everywhere. Ask local retailers about stock, price, included fittings and warranty, and check that the documentation applies to your region and installation.

At access in 2026, the Australian manufacturer page displayed a customer rating of 3.6 out of 5 and AU$499; CHOICE’s ducted listing also displayed AU$499. These are page snapshots, not current nationwide pricing or a promise that the product is still for sale. The public CHOICE pages provide some listing information but restrict key ducted test results to members. The available evidence therefore supports a specification-led assessment, not a hands-on review or an independent verdict on real-world capture and noise.
