The first gameplay trailer for Angelfall introduces a reverse-horror action game in which you play the threat humanity is trying to survive. Combat feeds progression
Defeating enemies does more than clear an arena. Their Souls become the resource for developing the Archdemon, unlocking abilities and making decisions that define the current run. That creates a loop of fighting, collecting, choosing and adapting instead of a fixed sequence of upgrades.

How the roguelike loop works
- Enter a run as the Archdemon. The player starts from the monster’s perspective, with human and holy-warrior forces as enemies.
- Eliminate opposing forces. Combat produces Souls while progressively more challenging encounters test the current setup.
- Spend progression choices. Souls support ability unlocks and other decisions that alter how the Archdemon fights.
- Reroll and refine. Rerolls can replace an unsuitable offer, helping players pursue a particular combination of skills, runes, passives and specializations.

What makes the concept different from standard demon games?
The clearest comparison is perspective. In a conventional demon-hunting action game, the player protects people or hunts monsters. Angelfall makes the monster the protagonist and turns humanity’s defenders into the opposition.
