Outside combat in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, focus on four things: train for the next challenge, use Dagsion’s facilities to address your roster’s needs, pursue worthwhile recruits and deadline-based requests, and plan trips beyond the city carefully. Each activity can help, but Nintendo says time advances with every move on the world map, so the best choice depends on what you need before the next match or main quest.
1. Train for a near-term need
Arena Plaza offers training once per week between matches, according to Nintendo UK’s game page. Training improves skills, which can unlock moves and stronger weapons. Treat this as a scheduled opportunity: consider which unit or skill could help with an upcoming challenge rather than training without a particular gap in mind.

On match days, you can also watch other battles to research opponents. That is a different kind of preparation from training: it helps you gather information about what lies ahead.

2. Match Dagsion’s facilities to the party’s needs
Dagsion’s stops serve distinct purposes, so choose based on the shortfall you want to address. Nintendo describes the city and its facilities in its official game overview and Nintendo UK feature listing.

- As its professor, you must lead your students in class and in tactical RPG battles wrought with strategic, new twists to overcome.
- Shopping Arcade: Buy equipment and items when the party needs practical supplies.
- Temple Row: Volunteering earns a beneficial blessing.
- Class exams: Certification exams enhance unit classes, making them relevant when you want to develop a unit’s class.
- Inns: Rest and meals provide a place for recovery and character interaction. Spending turns there can also grant experience and gather materials automatically; characters may converse and build support.
These options are not interchangeable. Weigh the immediate benefit against the time involved, and favor the facility that addresses a current need or helps before a deadline.
3. Consider recruits and requests before time runs out
Potential allies in the city do not all join in the same way. Some may enlist immediately; others need persuasion, such as receiving gifts or an invitation to share a meal. Townsfolk can also offer requests with rewards for completing them on time.

Because requests may have deadlines, check them before committing time elsewhere. A recruit or reward could be useful, but the available official details do not establish exact gift requirements, recruitment thresholds, or a complete reward list. Treat these as opportunities to assess rather than guaranteed returns.

Beyond Dagsion, you can visit towns for local wares and information, travel with allies to improve their abilities in battle, and explore dungeons for weapon-strengthening materials and treasure. These trips can support different goals: shop or gather information when the party needs preparation, take an ally along when you want to develop them, or search dungeons when weapon materials and treasure are the priority.

The key constraint is time. Nintendo’s 6 August 2026 overview says, “Time passes every time you move, so plan your expeditions carefully.” Nintendo does not publish a universal optimal route or quantify the time cost and return of every activity. TechRadar’s 16 September 2026 hands-on review also describes a limited exploration window before the main quest, but that is reviewer context, not a precise official schedule.
Before setting out, compare three things: the time a choice consumes, its likely immediate benefit—such as growth, equipment, materials, information, recruitment, or a request reward—and whether it helps before a deadline or upcoming main quest. This is a way to organize the available choices, not an official scoring system. There is no established single activity order that suits every situation.
