Dell Alienware AW2725DM: another 27-inch QHD gaming choice
The AW2725DM is a 27-inch 1440p Fast IPS monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate and variable refresh support. Dell lists height, pivot, swivel, and tilt adjustment, plus USB connectivity. RTINGS names the LG 24GS65F-B its best cheap 24-inch monitor. It is a 24-inch IPS display at 1920 × 1080 with a 180Hz refresh rate. A 24-inch footprint can work well on a small desk or in a multi-monitor arrangement; 1080p also asks less of a graphics card than gaming at 1440p or 4K.

It has no USB ports, weaker HDR performance than the AOC Mini-LED model, and worse motion handling than the AOC and LG gaming options, according to RTINGS. The cited evidence does not establish a current price for this model.

Dell Alienware AW3425DWM: a wide view for immersive games
The AW3425DWM is a 34-inch, 21:9 curved VA display with 3440 × 1440 resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate. The wider image can suit immersive games and sim racing, and the curve brings the edges closer to the viewer. Check desk width and whether your graphics card can drive games comfortably at this resolution before choosing an ultrawide.

It lists a 23.8-inch 1080p panel, 250-nit brightness, 99% sRGB coverage, USB-C, office-focused viewing modes, and height, swivel, and tilt adjustment. TechRadar reported prices of $189.99, £149.99, and AU$289; those are dated figures for the cited review and currencies, not verified live prices.

For office documents and everyday browsing, prioritize a suitable size, readable resolution, stand adjustments, and the ports needed by your computer. For fast-action games, refresh rate and motion behavior carry more weight. A stated maximum refresh rate alone does not establish motion quality; check review measurements and confirm that your cable, graphics hardware, and settings support the desired mode.

Match resolution to screen size and graphics capability
The picks range from 24-inch 1080p through 27-inch QHD and 4K to a 34-inch ultrawide. Higher resolution can provide a sharper desktop image, but games also require more graphics performance to render at that resolution. Compare contrast, HDR, and motion as separate qualities
Mini-LED local dimming helps the AOC produce deep blacks and bright highlights, but it does not eliminate the reported dark-scene smearing. The Dell AW2725DM may suit buyers who value Fast IPS and stand flexibility, but RTINGS reports weaker contrast and HDR. Neither refresh rate nor an HDR label alone describes every aspect of the viewing experience.
Check the exact ports, stand, and local listing
Connectivity differs: Dell lists an adjustable stand and USB connectivity for the AW2725DM, while RTINGS says the S2725QS has an ergonomic stand but no USB ports. The BenQ GW2486TC is listed with USB-C and an adjustable stand. Before ordering, confirm that the exact model and regional suffix have the ports and adjustments you need. How to interpret the rankings and prices
RTINGS says its 2026 monitor guide covers more than 405 monitors, and its 2026 1080p guide says it buys and tests more than 30 monitors each year without using cherry-picked units or samples. Those are the publisher’s stated methods; they are not tests conducted for this article. RTINGS’ category winners are useful starting points, not guarantees that a model is best for every buyer.
