PowerPyx’s August 2026 walkthrough names 36 Mortal Shell 2 dungeons and groups them by nearby Beacon, but that is a route checklist—not a confirmed total of every dungeon or hidden area. PlayStation’s product page says the game has “more than 80 dungeons,” and the available sources do not explain how that broader count relates to the walkthrough’s list. Use the routes below to track named locations, and treat hidden-area counts as incomplete.
How to interpret the dungeon counts
The figures describe different kinds of coverage, so they should not be treated as competing counts of the same thing.
- PlayStation’s official product page describes “more than 80 dungeons.” It does not provide a location-by-location list or explain its counting method.
- PowerPyx’s August 18, 2026 walkthrough names 36 dungeons and gives Beacon-based directions. It also counts an additional tutorial-area dungeon outside its overworld list.
- The MortalShellDB interactive map snapshot displays 33 dungeon markers, but explicitly omits six regions. It is not a complete census.
- Mortal Shell 2 Hub’s checklist gives 13 hidden walls, switches, pipes, and paths as a cleanup goal, but its page does not enumerate all 13.
The 36 entries below are therefore a practical named-route checklist, not proof that every dungeon or secret location in the retail game is catalogued. Directions follow PowerPyx’s Beacon order; check the current game for exact route or spelling differences.

All 36 named dungeon routes by Beacon
Marrow Keep, Nochtean Gate, Mushroom Village, and Outskirts of Nochte
- Desolate Keep — Marrow Keep: In Sester Genessa’s room, strike the symbol-marked wall. Break four chains and commune with chaos; return after sufficient story progress.
- Ravaged Tomb — Nochtean Gate: Take the southeast elevator and enter the room below.
- Thieves Retreat — Nochtean Gate: Go north and drop one level, then use the switch to open the metal gate.
- Shrine of Trials — Mushroom Village: Head northwest of the Beacon. The chapel door requires the Chapel Key.
- Holding Cells — Mushroom Village: Go north of Shrine of Trials. Clear corruption with Mether’s Breath, use the jump pad, and enter through the well.
- Waterfall Camp — Outskirts of Nochte: Go south of the Beacon and press the button on the northern wall to move it.
- Disciple’s Stash — Outskirts of Nochte: Head east into town and break the wall on the large building.
- Illusionist’s Cache — Outskirts of Nochte: Travel north through a Bone Gate to Desolate Peak; the entrance is inside the building. The Crypt Key is on the back counter.
Blackridge Pass, Widow’s Overlook, and Gloomshade Grove
- Flooded Village — Blackridge Pass: Go northwest and use the archway to open the building doorway.
- Coward’s Retreat — Blackridge Pass: Enter the cave east of the Beacon.
- Crumbling Tunnel — Blackridge Pass: Head northeast, just east of the Shattered Beacon entrance.
- The King’s Crypt — Blackridge Pass: Go north of Shattered Beacon to a cave near explosive jars.
- Martyr’s Tomb — Widow’s Overlook: Head southeast of the Beacon and enter the building.
- Ritual Grounds — Widow’s Overlook: Search the southeast village area where Tiel is found.
- Ravaged Hideout — Gloomshade Grove: Go south of the Beacon, beyond the Bloodcursed Lithopod miniboss.
- Martyr’s Prison — Gloomshade Grove: Look for a hole in the northwest castle corner. The dungeon also connects from Holding Cells.
One-Legged Wolf, Blackridge Pass graveyard, and Outskirts of Mammon
- Deserted Mine — One-Legged Wolf: Go west through the cave near the flags.
- Overrun Quarry — One-Legged Wolf: Travel north through the castle, then southeast near the destroyed wooden bridge.
- Grisha Hunting Grounds — One-Legged Wolf: Head northwest into the valley past the ruins.
- Hall of Echoes — One-Legged Wolf: Find the northwest building. Its door requires the Crypt Key from Illusionist’s Cache.
- Feeding Grounds — Blackridge Pass graveyard: Destroy three glowing headstones to open the building.
- Smuggler’s Hideout — Outskirts of Mammon: Go northwest near a camp.
- Hag’s Pit — Outskirts of Mammon: Search the cliffside to the southeast.
Sester’s Gate and Castigator’s Keep
- Revered Beacon — Sester’s Gate: Take the northwest stairs to the western platform, drop to the Bone Gate ledge, then go north past the hammer enemy.
- Blackwell Cavern — Castigator’s Keep: Drop behind the Beacon to the lower cliff-edge path.
- Hall of Murmurs — Castigator’s Keep: Go southwest through the center and find the entrance stairs in the outdoor courtyard.
- Alchemist’s Workshop — Castigator’s Keep: Find a Makeshift Projectile south of Outskirts of Mammon and fire the catapult. Reach the wooden platforms southwest of Castigator’s Keep.
Abandoned Outpost, Gate of Mammon, and The Silent Steps
- Bellkeeper’s Corner — Abandoned Outpost: Go north and ring the bell to create a path on the bridge.
- Collapsed Mine — Abandoned Outpost: In the south slums, use the west cave reached from platforms around the central pit.
- Obsidianite Mines — Abandoned Outpost: In the south slums, drop down to the miners and use the west-wall entrance.
- Spoiled Mortuary — Gate of Mammon: Take the northeast path uphill and look in the corner beyond the upper steps.
- Sentry’s Grave — Gate of Mammon: Take the first northeast stairs, then follow the indoor stairs down clockwise.
- Chamber of Becoming — The Silent Steps: After the first Sariel fight, use the southeast stone platform to open the south walls.
- Parasitic Stash — The Silent Steps: Go northwest and search the lower level beneath a wooden bridge.
High Lord’s Courtyard and Disciple’s Grotto
- Besieged Ruins — High Lord’s Courtyard: Go east and drop two levels toward the jump-pad enemies; the entrance is in a nearby wall.
- Garrick’s Den — Disciple’s Grotto: Enter the cave left of the Beacon.
Hidden entrances, keys, and progression gates
Some routes are easy to miss because the entrance is concealed or depends on an item or story event. The named list includes these specific checks:

- Flooded Village: Use the archway to reveal the building doorway.
- Disciple’s Stash: Break the wall on the large building.
- Shrine of Trials: Use the Chapel Key on the chapel door.
- Hall of Echoes: Bring the Crypt Key found on the back counter in Illusionist’s Cache.
- Alchemist’s Workshop: Use a Makeshift Projectile to fire the catapult and reach the platforms.
- Chamber of Becoming: Its south walls open after the first Sariel fight, using the southeast stone platform.
- Martyr’s Prison: Find the hole in the castle wall; an alternate connection leads from Holding Cells.
The 13-route hidden-area figure from Mortal Shell 2 Hub combines walls, switches, pipes, and paths, but the checklist page does not name or locate each one. It should not be read as a verified count of every secret region. The interactive map also warns that pin coverage can change.

PowerPyx says a dungeon appears on the map after you pass its fog gate once, but the game does not automatically track whether you have completed it. Mark the map icons yourself if you want a completion checklist. The walkthrough says its listed dungeons can be completed in free roam after the final boss and before starting New Game+.

The MortalShellDB map snapshot displays 33 markers and says it does not plot Ashen Sanctum, Forlorn Village, Prisoner’s Way, Sunken Village, Valley of the Revered, or Withered Shoals. PowerPyx says there are no dungeons in the six Corrupt Gate areas or the final area; its list also includes one tutorial-area dungeon outside the overworld map. These differing scopes are another reason not to treat any single visible marker or list as a definitive retail-wide total.
