The AirPlay code appears on your Samsung TV when you start a connection that requires one. Select the TV from your Apple device, then enter the code shown on the television. There is no universal code to look up in a menu, and a prompt may not appear if the TV’s settings or an earlier pairing do not require one.
Before you start: check support and Wi-Fi
- Confirm your TV supports AirPlay 2. Samsung supports AirPlay on selected TVs and monitors, not every Smart TV. Check the full model code against Samsung’s support information for your region; product lineups differ by market. Samsung’s compatibility guidance lists selected families from model years beginning in 2018, but that does not mean every model from 2018 onward is compatible. - Put the TV and Apple device on the same Wi-Fi network. Samsung lists this as part of the wireless setup. Samsung Latin America’s iOS mirroring instructions.
How to get the AirPlay code
- On the Samsung TV, open Settings and look for Apple AirPlay Settings. Depending on the model and software, the path may be Settings > All Settings > Connection > Apple AirPlay Settings or Settings > General > Apple AirPlay Settings. Turn AirPlay on if it is off.
- On an iPhone or iPad, open Control Center and tap Screen Mirroring. You can also use the AirPlay control in a supported photo, video, or audio app. On a Mac, choose the TV from an available AirPlay control.
- Select your Samsung TV from the available devices. If a code prompt appears, read the code displayed on the TV and type it on your Apple device.
- To end iPhone or iPad mirroring, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring.
Samsung notes that menu labels and screens vary by model and software version, so the exact settings path may differ. Its setup instructions are here: Samsung UK: Screen Mirroring and AirPlay setup.
Why the TV might not ask for a code
The code prompt depends on the TV’s Require Code setting and pairing history. Samsung describes options that can require a code the first time an Apple device connects or on every connection. The relevant controls are in the TV’s Apple AirPlay settings, though their location and labels can vary.

Samsung also describes creating a code and resetting paired devices. Resetting clears remembered Apple devices; it is useful when pairing state is causing trouble, but it does not reveal a hidden universal code. If you want to change code behavior, check the AirPlay settings on the TV rather than searching for a permanent code elsewhere. Samsung UK’s AirPlay instructions.

Troubleshoot a missing TV or code prompt
- Check model compatibility. Verify the full TV model code on your local Samsung support page. AirPlay support is selective; a Smart TV label alone does not establish compatibility.
- Check the connection. Confirm the Apple device and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check AirPlay is enabled. Open Apple AirPlay Settings on the TV and turn the feature on.
- Check the code requirement. If the TV connects without asking for a code, its Require Code setting or a previous pairing may explain why. If it does ask, use the code currently displayed on the television.
- Update the TV software if the problem continues. Samsung recommends checking for software updates when troubleshooting AirPlay issues. Instructions and screens vary across models and software versions. Samsung UK support.
Use HDMI if wireless sharing is difficult
Samsung documents a wired alternative: connect the Apple device to the TV with an HDMI adapter and HDMI cable. The adapter is sold separately and must match your Apple device’s connector and output capabilities. This is a separate wired connection, not a way to add AirPlay to a TV that does not support it.
