When does Finals Week release?

On release day, Steam should replace the unavailable status with a purchase and launch option if the schedule holds. Steam has not officially published a numeric maximum. The presence of an Online Co-op label confirms that multiple people can play together online, but it does not tell you whether the limit is two, four, six, or another number.
A Steam Community discussion asks whether the game supports four or more players, but the retrieved page contains no official developer answer. That discussion is therefore evidence of a player question, not evidence of a party-size limit.

Is Finals Week single-player?
Yes, at least in the sense that Steam explicitly lists Single-player. You can therefore play without joining an online lobby.
The listing does not explain how complete that solo option is. It does not say whether the full set of exams, activities, progression systems, or story content is available alone, nor does it explain whether computer-controlled teammates replace human players. Treat “Single-player” as confirmation of a supported solo mode, not as a promise that solo play reproduces every part of the co-op experience.

- Whether all exam scenarios can be completed alone.
- Whether the game adjusts objectives, enemy behavior, or difficulty for one player.
- Whether answer-sharing and tool-based tasks require human teammates.
- Whether the hall activities, including basketball and statue decorating, remain available in a solo session.
- Whether progression earned alone carries into online co-op.
If you mainly play single-player games, the safest approach is to wait for a launch-day description, developer FAQ, or player documentation that explains the solo scope. The feature label answers whether a solo mode exists; it does not answer how much content that mode contains.
Does Finals Week have cross-play?
Cross-play is unconfirmed. Steam lists Online Co-op, but its feature table does not list Cross-Platform Multiplayer and names no Xbox, PlayStation, or other platform release.

Online co-op and cross-play are different features. Online co-op can mean that Steam users connect with other Steam users, while cross-play means players on separate platforms can share a session. Because no official cross-platform statement is present, you should assume nothing about playing with friends on another platform.

- Check whether the Steam page adds a Cross-Platform Multiplayer feature tag.
- Look for a developer or publisher statement naming the supported platforms.
- Check whether the launch notes describe account linking, invitations, or platform-specific restrictions.
- Confirm the information again after release, because multiplayer features can be clarified or changed near launch.
Do not interpret the absence of a cross-play tag as proof that cross-play will never arrive. It only means that the feature is not confirmed in the current official listing.
How the co-op design may affect your group
The announced mechanics suggest that communication will matter. Players are expected to share answers and tools while avoiding a patrolling teacher, and Steam lists in-game chat. That combination points to coordination: one player may watch for danger while another handles an exam task or passes an item.
However, the store description does not establish role classes, matchmaking, private-lobby settings, voice-chat support, host migration, or whether a disconnected player can rejoin. Those are practical multiplayer details, not guarantees implied by the phrase Online Co-op.
Before launch, decide whether your group is comfortable treating those systems as unknown. If your purchase depends on a private lobby, a specific communication method, or seamless drop-in play, wait for the technical details rather than relying on the genre description.

Can you refund Finals Week on Steam?
Steam’s standard rule is that Valve will, on request through help.steampowered.com, refund a title requested within 14 days of purchase when it has been played for less than two hours. The two-hour calculation includes online, offline, and shared-library playtime.
Both conditions normally need to be met: the request must be within the 14-day window, and recorded playtime must be under two hours. A request outside those conditions can still be submitted for review, but approval is not guaranteed.
Pre-order refunds
Steam states that, under its standard refund policy, a pre-order may be refunded at any time before the game is released. This is the clearest protection for someone reserving Finals Week before October 29, 2026: you can cancel before release even if you have not started the game because it is not playable yet.
After release, the normal post-purchase rules apply. The relevant period then runs from the purchase date, and playtime is counted against the two-hour limit. If you bought during a pre-release period and launch has occurred, do not assume the unrestricted pre-order window remains open.
How to submit a request
- Open Steam Support at help.steampowered.com and sign in to the account that owns the game.
- Select the purchase or pre-order from your recent products.
- Choose the refund option and identify the reason that best describes your request.
- Select the destination offered by Steam for the refund, such as the original payment method when available or Steam Wallet credit.
- Submit the request and keep the confirmation message until Steam responds.
A request is not the same as an automatic approval. Steam checks the purchase date, release status, and recorded playtime before deciding. If your situation falls outside the standard conditions, explain the circumstances clearly; Steam can review exceptional requests without promising that they will be accepted.
