FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE launched for Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. The Switch 2 package includes the complete Midgar campaign and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the Yuffie Kisaragi story episode. Nintendo also lists a separate Digital Deluxe Edition. The standard and Digital Deluxe purchases are different editions, while the Yuffie episode is part of INTERGRADE rather than a separate purchase.
The Cacstar weapon is listed as a Switch 2 version bonus usable only in INTERmission. The original FINAL FANTASY VII was offered as an early-purchase bonus for pre-orders made before January 31, 2026; that deadline has passed, so treat it as a historical or potentially expired promotion unless a retailer shows a current redemption offer. Nintendo and retailer listings also need to be checked in your country before you assume a physical cartridge, download code, price or active bonus is available.
What Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Switch 2 includes
INTERGRADE is the expanded version of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE. Its principal campaign retells the Midgar portion of the 1997 FINAL FANTASY VII, using the remake’s modern presentation and systems rather than reproducing the original game. On Switch 2, the edition name identifies the package that contains both the main remake and the Yuffie episode.
The main remake campaign
Your purchase includes the full Midgar-focused FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE campaign. This is the core game: the story of Cloud Strife and the other members of Avalanche during the events covered by the remake’s first installment. The product is not the 1997 original and does not represent the complete multi-part remake project; it is the Midgar chapter presented as the standalone remake campaign.
#1 Best Overall
- The award-winning FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE* retells the original story up to the escape from Midgar, with breathtaking visuals, fast-paced gameplay, and additional story elements. This RPG delivers unforgettable characters, a powerful narrative, and a hybrid battle system that blends real-time action with strategic, command-based combat. It also includes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, a side story starring Yuffie Kisaragi that offers a fresh perspective running in parallel to Cloud’s journey.
- STUNNING VISUALS - Explore Midgar like never before with stunning visuals and richly detailed environments that bring the city’s layered, industrial districts to life, all while staying true to the spirit of the original game.
- DYNAMIC COMBAT WITH STRATEGIC DEPTH -The innovative battle system combines strategic command-based gameplay with fast-paced action. Seamlessly switch between characters, harness the power of materia, summon iconic creatures, and unleash devastating limit breaks.
- ICONIC CHARACTERS, UNFORGETTABLE STORY - Follow Cloud Strife, an ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, as he joins Avalanche to take on the Shinra Electric Power Company. Cloud and his allies Barret, Tifa, and Aerith are pulled into a battle that will decide the fate of the planet.
- EXPANDED CONTENT - FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE offers quests, mini-games, and missions set in expanded areas of Midgar. Encounter new characters and experience exciting content that adds even more depth to the story.
FF7R EPISODE INTERmission
INTERGRADE bundles FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, an additional story arc starring Yuffie Kisaragi. Square Enix describes the episode as taking place during the events of the base game. It follows Yuffie’s operation in Midgar and adds gameplay content associated with her mission. Because it is included with INTERGRADE, a buyer of the Switch 2 edition does not need to purchase a separate Yuffie DLC entitlement to access it.
INTERmission is distinct from the main campaign rather than an optional chapter inserted into Cloud’s story. After installing the game, look for the episode as its own selectable content. If it does not appear, confirm that the installed product is INTERGRADE and that the download has completed; do not buy a second copy until you have checked the edition name and your Nintendo Account purchase history.
Switch 2 standard versus Digital Deluxe Edition
Nintendo lists a standard Switch 2 edition and a separate Switch 2 Digital Deluxe Edition. Both are associated with INTERGRADE, so the key distinction is the additional digital package, not whether the Yuffie episode exists. The exact Digital Deluxe item list can vary by storefront presentation and was not stated in the available product information. Check the Nintendo eShop page for your country immediately before payment.
| Item or question | Standard Switch 2 edition | Switch 2 Digital Deluxe Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Main FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE campaign | Included as INTERGRADE | Included as INTERGRADE |
| FF7R EPISODE INTERmission | Included | Included |
| Yuffie story access | Included through INTERmission | Included through INTERmission |
| Cacstar weapon | Listed as a Nintendo Switch 2 version bonus; verify the current listing and entitlement screen | Listed as a Nintendo Switch 2 version bonus; verify the current listing and entitlement screen |
| Square Enix Digital Content Viewer | Not stated for the standard listing | Nintendo says access is provided with a code sent after eShop payment |
| Original FINAL FANTASY VII | Historical early-purchase promotion only; not a permanent inclusion | Historical early-purchase promotion only; not a permanent inclusion |
| Current price, stock and regional availability | Check your local eShop | Check your local eShop |
The Digital Content Viewer delivery method matters. Nintendo’s Digital Deluxe listing says the code is sent after eShop payment, rather than presented as a separate cartridge item. Use the email address and Nintendo Account associated with the purchase, keep the payment confirmation, and follow the code instructions supplied in that message. The listing information does not establish the complete contents of the viewer, so do not assume that every bonus shown in another region’s page is included in yours.
Is the Yuffie DLC included?
Yes. FF7R EPISODE INTERmission is included in FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE on Switch 2. It is Yuffie Kisaragi’s additional story arc, set during the base game’s events. This is the material many players call the Yuffie DLC, but on the Switch 2 INTERGRADE product it is bundled content.
How to find INTERmission after purchase
- Install the Switch 2 game from the Nintendo eShop or from the physical release, if a verified physical edition is available in your region.
- On the title screen or content-selection screen, look for FF7R EPISODE INTERmission rather than starting a new Cloud campaign.
- If the option is missing, open the Nintendo Switch 2 Home menu, highlight the game, press the plus button, choose Manage Software, and confirm that the installed software and any listed add-on content have finished downloading.
- Open your Nintendo Account purchase history and confirm that the product name is FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, not a different release of the remake.
- Restart the game after installation. If the episode still is not available, contact Nintendo or Square Enix support with the order number and region; buying another copy will not repair an account or installation mismatch.
The episode’s inclusion does not mean that every other item from earlier versions of the game transfers to Switch 2. Platform-specific entitlements and promotional codes are controlled by the Switch 2 listing and its terms.

What is the Cacstar weapon?
Square Enix’s Switch 2 buy page lists the Cacstar weapon as a Nintendo Switch 2 version bonus. It is usable only in FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the Yuffie episode. It is therefore not a weapon for Cloud’s main campaign and should not be treated as a separate full-game DLC pack.
Recommended Free Tools
Because bonus eligibility can depend on the product page, region and redemption status, read the exact bonus text attached to your purchase. A listing that omits Cacstar, labels it as a limited promotion, or supplies a separate code should be treated differently from a listing that grants it automatically. The available information confirms the Switch 2 bonus, but it does not establish an expiration date for every storefront or whether a particular physical retailer includes a code.
Do you get the original Final Fantasy VII?
Square Enix listed the original FINAL FANTASY VII as an early-purchase bonus for pre-orders made before January 31, 2026. Since that cutoff has passed, the offer is historical and may be expired. It is not safe to describe the original game as a standard INTERGRADE inclusion.
A current listing can still change the answer for a specific transaction if a retailer has an authorized, unredeemed code or a replacement promotion. Before paying, look for explicit wording such as “original FINAL FANTASY VII included,” identify whether the offer is tied to a pre-order, and check the redemption deadline. If the page merely shows the original game in promotional artwork, that is not proof of entitlement.
Physical copy, download code and Amazon listings
The available product information does not establish a universal physical cartridge release or a guaranteed Amazon download-code format for Switch 2. Format, stock, country, seller and price must be verified on the live listing. An “Amazon code” can mean a Nintendo eShop code, a retailer-specific delivery email or a code supplied by a third-party seller; those are not interchangeable.

Checklist for a physical listing
- Confirm that the platform is explicitly Nintendo Switch 2, not Nintendo Switch, PlayStation or PC.
- Check whether the box contains a game card, a download code or only a code-in-box notice.
- Look for the words INTERGRADE and INTERmission; a listing that names only FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE may describe another edition.
- Read the region and account restrictions. A code purchased for one eShop region may not redeem on another region’s account.
- Verify whether Cacstar and any Digital Deluxe content are included, separate codes, or excluded.
- Check the seller, return terms and code-delivery method before payment.
Do not rely on a search-result title alone. Retail pages can retain old pre-order language after a deadline, and marketplace sellers can combine images from several editions. The product detail, platform label and redemption terms are the evidence for your specific purchase.

How to choose between the editions
Choose the standard edition when
- You want the main remake and Yuffie’s INTERmission episode without unconfirmed digital extras.
- You are comparing prices and the Digital Deluxe viewer is not valuable to you.
- You are buying after the original-game pre-order period and do not want to pay more for a promotion that may no longer be active.
Choose Digital Deluxe when
- The local eShop clearly lists the Digital Deluxe contents and you want the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer.
- You understand that the viewer code is sent after eShop payment and can access the email account attached to the purchase.
- The price difference is justified by the listed digital items, not by the assumption that INTERmission is exclusive to Deluxe.
Pause before either purchase when
- The listing does not identify Switch 2 or says only “remake” without naming INTERGRADE.
- You need a physical cartridge or a giftable code but the retailer has not specified the format.
- You are buying in a different country from your Nintendo Account.
- You are relying on the original FINAL FANTASY VII bonus or Cacstar and the page does not state current eligibility.
Region, date and promotion checks
January 22, 2026 is the Switch 2 launch date stated by Nintendo’s official listing. The January 31, 2026 date applies to the early-purchase original-game promotion, not to the game’s availability. A listing viewed months later can therefore be selling the same game while no longer carrying that bonus.
Prices, stock, taxes, currency, payment methods and promotional language are storefront-specific. Nintendo eShop pages can differ by country, and a retailer’s inventory can change without changing the underlying edition. Record the edition name, platform, included content and bonus wording shown at checkout. That record is useful if a code is missing or the wrong product is delivered.
What the Switch 2 release does—and does not—tell you
Square Enix’s press wording states: “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE … is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support and Xbox Cloud Gaming support.” That announcement confirms availability across those platforms, but the extras are not automatically cross-platform. Cacstar is described specifically as a Nintendo Switch 2 version bonus, and the Digital Deluxe viewer is delivered through the Switch 2 eShop purchase flow.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Likewise, the fact that INTERGRADE contains INTERmission does not make every prior save, code or add-on transferable. Treat each platform’s store entitlement as authoritative. If you already own the remake elsewhere, compare the Switch 2 listing’s included content and any upgrade terms rather than assuming an automatic entitlement.
Sales context for the remake
Square Enix announced on April 2, 2025 that more than seven million copies of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE had shipped and been sold digitally worldwide on PlayStation and PC platforms. That figure predates the Switch 2 launch and covers those stated platforms; it is not a Switch 2 sales total and should not be used to estimate current stock or demand.
Practical purchase decision
For most Switch 2 players, the standard INTERGRADE edition is the straightforward choice because it includes the complete Midgar campaign and the Yuffie INTERmission episode. Digital Deluxe is appropriate when the local Nintendo eShop page spells out its additional content and you specifically want the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer delivered after payment. The original FINAL FANTASY VII should be considered an expired or retailer-specific bonus, while Cacstar is a Switch 2 bonus limited to Yuffie’s episode. Confirm platform, region, format and promotion wording on the page where you actually buy.
