Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for October 22, 2026. A complete run means finishing the crystal-focused main story, every side quest, all 26 Visions, every Colosseum bracket, the Chamber of Arms, all Esper trials, the Gilgamesh encounter, the Sephiroth challenge, the full equipment and accessory collection, and every trophy. The official PlayStation Blog says the free PS5 demo contains the entire first chapter and that its save data carries into the full game, so you can begin the checklist in the demo without restarting on launch.
The final quest count, definitive missable-item rules, trophy conditions and complete postgame route have not been published yet. The practical guide below separates confirmed information from demo-era or community estimates so you can plan without treating provisional database numbers as official totals.
What “100% completion” covers
The broadest published checklist comes from the full walkthrough and includes ten targets. Treat it as the working definition of completion until Square Enix publishes a final trophy and quest list.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Category | Completion target | What is currently established |
|---|---|---|
| Crystals | Recover all eight elemental crystals | Earth, Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Light and Dark are named. |
| Visions | Recruit all 26 | The official combat description confirms that events involving characters can grant Visions and that abilities learned from one can remain equipped with another within the cost limit. |
| Side quests | Finish every side quest | Jobs come from NPCs marked with a quest symbol. The available side-quest list is based on the demo and is not a confirmed full-game count. |
| Colosseum | Clear every bracket | The full walkthrough places Colosseum cleanup early in its suggested postgame order because it can provide gear. |
| Chamber of Arms | Complete the Chamber of Arms | The walkthrough lists it as a separate 100% requirement and recommends it after Colosseum work. |
| Esper trials | Finish every trial | Story and side-quest progress unlocks Espers. Each fights beside the party for three turns and performs a finishing move before disappearing. |
| Optional boss | Encounter and defeat Gilgamesh | Gilgamesh is listed as an optional fight in the Chapter 1 material and as a required 100% encounter in the full checklist. |
| Special challenge | Complete the Sephiroth challenge | The full walkthrough names this as the final challenge in its recommended postgame sequence. |
| Collection | Collect all equipment and accessories | The source does not yet publish a definitive final item total or a complete missable-item rule set. |
| Trophies | Unlock all trophies | Individual trophy conditions remain unresolved before launch. |
Because the game is not yet released, “100%” should mean that you have checked every category above and verified the final in-game trophy and collection screens after launch. Do not use the community database’s current entry counts as a substitute for those screens.

Release status, demo scope and save transfer
Launch date and what is confirmed
Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for October 22, 2026. The official PlayStation Blog announcement describes a single-player HD-2D RPG about a crystal-focused journey against Veritas of the Dark. Its combat uses a timeline for upcoming actions, a stagger gauge, Visions, Resonances and Espers.
What the PS5 demo contains
The free PS5 demo contains the entire first chapter, “Tailing the Truth.” The chapter walkthrough places its opening at Grandshelt Castle and its ending at a ship leaving Grandport. It records 18 objectives, four story bosses and three optional fights. That is a substantial preview, but it is still only one chapter; do not mistake the demo’s side-quest list or database entries for the final game’s totals.
How save transfer works
Square Enix Senior Marketing Manager Mel Gordon states in the official announcement: “Save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game.” In practical terms, keep the demo save on the same PlayStation account and system ecosystem you will use for the full release, then select the applicable continue or transfer option when the retail game detects it. The announcement confirms the carry-over itself, but it does not specify whether every setting, optional reward or chapter-completion flag transfers independently. Keep the demo installed and retain the save until you have successfully loaded it in the full game.

Story bosses

|---|---|---|
| Belmodar | Story boss | One of the four mandatory Chapter 1 encounters. |
| Hell’s Rider | Story boss | One of the four mandatory Chapter 1 encounters. |
| The Hunger | Story boss | One of the four mandatory Chapter 1 encounters. |
| Siren | Story boss | One of the four mandatory Chapter 1 encounters. |
Optional Chapter 1 fights
Antlion, Marauder and Gilgamesh are listed as optional fights in the chapter material. Optional does not mean irrelevant to a completion file: Gilgamesh is explicitly part of the full 100% checklist. If you are playing the demo as a story preview, you can postpone these encounters. If you are building a completionist save, record whether you have cleared each one before advancing and check the full-game version of the checklist after launch.
What to record during the demo
- Mark each quest-symbol NPC you meet and note whether the job is complete, active or unavailable.
- Record every chest, equipment reward and accessory you obtain, but label the list “demo” until the launch item database is confirmed.
- Recruit and test every Vision available in the chapter, noting its cost and any ability you want to equip later.
- Check optional-fight results, especially Gilgamesh, before boarding the departing ship.
- Keep a manual save before the chapter’s final sequence so you can revisit unfinished optional content without replaying the entire demo.
Main-story route after the demo
The full walkthrough organizes the wider arc through Grandshelt, Earth Shrine, Mitra, Dilmagia, Olderion, Zoldaad and Mysidia. It estimates the main story at 30–40 hours. That is a walkthrough estimate, not an official Square Enix playtime and not a guarantee for every difficulty, exploration style or combat speed.
Later chapter details are launch-sensitive. The chapter walkthrough says the remaining story opens on October 22, 2026, so names, objective order, boss placement and access requirements may change before or at release. Use the in-game chapter objectives as the authority once the full game is available.

A story-first run follows the current chapter objective, fights what the game requires and postpones optional battles and collection work. This is the fastest way to see the narrative and the safest choice if you want to avoid spoilers from late-game systems. Its cost is cleanup: you must later revisit regions, identify every marked NPC, and determine which rewards are still available.

Completionist route
A completionist run pauses in each region. Before advancing the next major objective, check quest-symbol NPCs, map markers, chests, equipment, accessories, available Visions, Esper access and optional encounters. This reduces the chance of overlooking a local task, but it takes longer and can expose you to optional fights before your party is fully prepared.
| Decision point | Story-first run | Completionist run |
|---|---|---|
| Spoiler exposure | Lower; you stay on the critical path. | Higher; optional characters, challenges and systems appear earlier. |
| Time commitment | Closer to the 30–40-hour main-story estimate, depending on play style. | The walkthrough estimates 60–80 hours for completionist play. |
| Side-quest timing | Mostly postponed or selected opportunistically. | Checked in every region before the next story transition. |
| Missable-risk management | Requires a later audit and possibly replaying a section. | Uses regional checklists and manual saves to reduce uncertainty. |
| Combat preparation | Builds around mandatory encounters. | Collects gear, Visions and Esper options before optional challenges. |
| Postgame cleanup | Likely substantial. | Mostly limited to unlocked postgame activities and any newly revealed entries. |
Side quests: how to find and track them
Recognizing a quest
Side quests come from NPCs marked with a quest symbol. Speak to every marked character rather than relying only on the current objective. The quest menu displays the next objective and progress, and tracking a quest places its objective on the map.
A reliable regional routine
- Enter a new settlement or field area and open the map.
- Speak with every NPC carrying the quest symbol before leaving.
- Accept the job, then open the quest menu to read the next objective and progress state.
- Use the tracking command so the objective appears on the map.
- Complete the task and reopen the menu to confirm that it is marked finished rather than merely advanced.
- Before triggering the next story transition, sweep the area again for newly appearing quest symbols.
- Write the quest name and reward in your personal checklist, identifying the region and chapter.
The available side-quest source is explicitly based on the demo. It therefore cannot establish the final full-game quest count or prove that any particular job is permanently missable. Until launch documentation clarifies those rules, use manual saves before major departures and treat a quest that disappears from the map as a reason to reload and investigate, not as proof that the reward is lost forever.
Combat systems that affect completion planning
Timeline and stagger
The official combat description shows upcoming action order on a timeline. Reducing an enemy’s stagger gauge prevents that enemy’s turn and lowers its defense. For optional bosses and Colosseum brackets, plan turns around stagger breaks rather than spending every ability immediately. A break can both remove an attack and create a damage window, which is especially valuable when testing a new Vision or fighting with a lower-level party.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Visions and ability costs
Events involving characters can grant Visions. Abilities learned from one Vision can remain equipped with another, provided the combined load stays within the cost limit. For a completion file, record each Vision as soon as it is obtained and note which abilities are transferable. This prevents a common cleanup problem: owning the Vision but forgetting that its useful ability must be learned or equipped separately.
Espers
Story and side-quest progress unlocks Espers. An Esper fights alongside the party for three turns and then performs a finishing move before disappearing. Because access can depend on optional progress, keep side quests current rather than rushing every story objective. For the 100% checklist, mark both the Esper and its trial; recruiting or seeing an Esper is not the same as finishing every trial associated with the endgame checklist.
Postgame order for a 100% file
The full walkthrough recommends a specific cleanup order. It is a practical progression plan, not a statement that the game permanently locks other orders.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Colosseum: clear the available brackets first. The walkthrough recommends this for gear, which can make subsequent challenges easier.
- Esper trials: complete every trial after your equipment and party options improve. Record each finished trial separately from the Esper’s initial unlock.
- Chamber of Arms: clear this multi-part challenge and update your weapon and equipment inventory afterward.
- Sephiroth challenge: leave Sephiroth for last, as recommended by the walkthrough’s postgame order. Confirm that every other checklist category is complete before using your final manual save.
Gilgamesh is also a required 100% encounter. Since he appears among the Chapter 1 optional fights, check that battle early and again against the final trophy or bestiary records; the sources do not establish whether the early encounter is the only required version or one stage of a later sequence.

Equipment, accessories and collection control
“Collect all equipment and accessories” is a checklist category, but the available sources do not publish a definitive final item total or complete missable-item rules. The community database currently advertises 103 early equipment entries. That is a database-status figure, not a confirmed in-game total, and the database says its full vault opens at launch.
Use a spreadsheet or notes file with these columns:
- Item name exactly as shown in game.
- Type: weapon, armor or accessory.
- Character or role that can use it, if the game displays that restriction.
- Region and source: chest, shop, quest, boss, Colosseum, Chamber of Arms or other activity.
- First obtained and current inventory status.
- Whether the item is unique, replaceable or still unverified.
Do not mark the collection complete because a database lists an entry. Compare your in-game inventory against the final launch database and trophy screen, and retain a save before selling or dismantling unusual gear until the game’s item rules are clear.
Current database figures: useful for planning, not proof
The community database currently advertises 16 character profiles, 22 of 26 Vision profiles, 13 Esper trials, 103 early equipment entries, 24 mapped places and 74 bestiary entries. It states that the full vault opens at launch. These figures describe the database’s current coverage, not confirmed final totals in Final Fantasy Resonance.
| Database category | Current advertised coverage | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Character profiles | 16 | Use as a planning index; verify against the game’s roster. |
| Vision profiles | 22 of 26 | Four profiles are not yet represented in the advertised coverage; do not infer their locations. |
| Esper trials | 13 | Use as a provisional checklist until the launch vault is complete. |
| Equipment entries | 103 early entries | Not a final item total. |
| Mapped places | 24 | Not proof of the game’s final region count. |
| Bestiary entries | 74 | Not proof that every trophy or encounter condition is represented. |

How long does completion take?
The Final Fantasy Resonance Wiki estimates 30–40 hours for the main story and 60–80 hours for completionist play. Those figures are attributed to the 2026 walkthrough source, not Square Enix. Your total will vary with exploration, difficulty, optional-fight retries, menu time and whether you follow a story-first route before returning for cleanup. The demo chapter itself has 18 documented objectives, but no reliable source currently gives a separate demo completion-time estimate.
What remains unknown until launch
- The final number of side quests and whether any are permanently missable.
- Definitive trophy conditions and whether every checklist category maps to a trophy.
- The final count of equipment, accessories, characters, places and bestiary entries.
- The complete postgame route and the unlock conditions for Colosseum brackets, the Chamber of Arms, Esper trials and Sephiroth.
- Whether the optional Chapter 1 fights have later versions or additional rewards.
- Exactly which demo flags, rewards and settings transfer with the save.
Square Enix’s support hub has dedicated game and getting-started sections, including a demo-save-transfer article. The fetched support page does not expose the article’s full text, so use the in-game transfer prompt and the final support instructions if they differ from the announcement.

Quick Recap
A safe completion workflow
- Play the PS5 demo and retain its save; clear Chapter 1 optional content if you want it on the same file.
- At launch, transfer the demo save and immediately create a separate manual save.
- Choose either the story-first or completionist route, but keep a regional checklist either way.
- Before every major departure, clear visible quest symbols, check the quest menu, record new gear and verify optional encounters.
- Track Visions, Espers and crystals in separate lists so an unlocked system is not mistaken for a finished collection.
- After the story, follow the recommended Colosseum, Esper-trial, Chamber of Arms and Sephiroth order.
- Audit equipment, accessories, Gilgamesh, trophies and any newly opened launch database entries before deleting older saves.
