“Reclusion” is an official Final Fantasy IX jigsaw puzzle—not a new video game, remake, or remaster. Square Enix lists it as a 1,000-piece puzzle made to commemorate the game’s 25th anniversary.
What is Final Fantasy IX: Reclusion?
Reclusion is a puzzle design based on a key visual for Final Fantasy IX. Square Enix’s North American store lists the item as “FINAL FANTASY IX Jigsaw Puzzle Reclusion – 1000 PIECE” in its puzzles category. The store describes it as a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle commemorating the game’s 25th anniversary.
The announcement is therefore about physical merchandise. It does not announce a new Final Fantasy IX game or an update to the original game.
What are the listed specifications and price?
Square Enix’s German product page identifies the item as a 1,000-piece puzzle, gives its dimensions as 51 cm by 73.5 cm, lists SKU XFF09ZZZ58, and shows October 2026 as the release month. Those details come from the German regional listing; availability and specifications should not be assumed to be identical in every market.
#1 Best Overall
- A Square Enix import
- From the popular video game remake
- 1,000-piece puzzle of iconic artwork
- Hologram finish
The North American Square Enix listing showed a price of $39.99 on 11 October 2026. That is a regional, time-sensitive listing price, not a guaranteed current price. Check the relevant store page for current pricing and availability.
How does Reclusion compare with the other Final Fantasy IX puzzles?
Square Enix’s puzzle category also lists two related Final Fantasy IX designs, Denouement and Integrity. All three are listed as 1,000-piece puzzles. The category page does not establish that the designs share the same regional prices, dimensions, or availability, so check the individual live listings before choosing between them.
Rank #2
| Design | Piece count | Price, dimensions, and availability |
|---|---|---|
| Reclusion | 1,000 | Varies by regional listing; see the North American and German listings above for their respective details. |
| Denouement | 1,000 | Not established here; check the current regional listing. |
| Integrity | 1,000 | Not established here; check the current regional listing. |
The official lineup is visible in Square Enix’s North American puzzle category. The names distinguish the designs; the category listing does not provide enough detail to compare their artwork or all regional product specifications.
Why might the announcement sound like a game reveal?
The headline “Final Fantasy IX: Reclusion Announced” can sound like a title announcement, especially to readers hoping for news about the game itself. The item behind the announcement is merchandise, as the product category and title on Square Enix’s store make clear. An ixbt.games report dated 11 October 2026 also framed Reclusion as a puzzle rather than a video game update: the report credits Game Rant as its source.
