Marisha Ray has joined the English voice cast of Final Fantasy VII Revelation as Polydroid Shiva—not as the familiar summonable Shiva. The announcement came during the game’s New York Comic Con panel, where Square Enix showed a clip of Shiva speaking with Vincent Valentine, voiced by Matthew Mercer.
Who is Marisha Ray playing?
Ray voices Polydroid Shiva, a digitized, non-player-character-like version of the Shiva summon, according to Kotaku’s October 8, 2026 report. The distinction matters: the announcement identifies Ray with this specific character portrayal, not every appearance of Shiva or the conventional summon itself.

Kotaku compared Polydroid Shiva’s stylized presentation with character versions featured in the Fort Condor minigame in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The New York Comic Con clip shown by Square Enix has Shiva talking with Vincent Valentine. Mercer voices Vincent; Ray and Mercer are married, a connection that may make their on-screen exchange especially notable to fans, but does not establish why Ray was cast.

Ray is another Critical Role performer associated with the game’s English-language cast. Earlier reporting identified Travis Willingham as the new English voice of Sephiroth, while Mercer voices Vincent. Nintendo Everything’s report linked to director Naoki Hamaguchi’s interview with Maximilian Dood; the initial explanation did not specify why Tyler Hoechlin could not return as Sephiroth.

What is Final Fantasy VII Revelation?
Final Fantasy VII Revelation was described in June 2026 coverage as the third and final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. At that time, the reported release window was Spring 2027, with a simultaneous launch planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Those are announced plans reported in June 2026, not confirmation that the schedule or platform lineup has not changed since.
For that announcement and its release context, see IGN’s June 2026 coverage. Kotaku’s game listing names Square Enix as publisher and lists PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. The listing also references a Final Fantasy VII Remake Series Trilogy Edition, but does not establish its contents, current availability, or whether it is a suitable purchase for any particular player.
