FIFA Heroes is planned for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox in 2026. The game is designed for cross-device multiplayer, but FIFA has not published a complete list showing which platform combinations and game modes can play together. A FIFA ID can enable cloud saves on the mobile build, yet there is no official confirmation that heroes, currency, purchases or season rewards move from a phone to a console.
What FIFA Heroes is
FIFA Heroes is an officially licensed, arcade-style five-a-side football game. Its central idea is a mixed “multiverse team”: players can combine fictional heroes, football players and FIFA mascots in short, action-focused matches. FIFA Director of Gaming and Esports Christian Volk described the aim as bringing people together through football while allowing fans to build teams from those different character types.
The planned experience includes player-versus-environment career challenges as well as competition with friends around the world. That combination matters when evaluating platform support: a device may run the solo content even if a particular online multiplayer pairing is not supported.

Which platforms will run FIFA Heroes?
The confirmed platform families are Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. The public announcements do not consistently identify the exact console generations, editions or regional storefront dates. Treat the list below as a family-level announcement, not a guarantee that every model is supported.

Do not infer support for a specific console model from the word “PlayStation” or “Xbox” alone. Before installing, open the current product page in your region and check the compatibility line, release status and required system software. A platform family can be announced months before a particular storefront page becomes available.
Does FIFA Heroes support cross-play?
Broadly, yes: FIFA Heroes is being presented as a cross-device multiplayer game. The official FIFA Heroes website describes the experience as available “From pocket to console,” and its press links describe the title as having cross-play. That supports the expectation that people on different device types will be able to play together in at least some multiplayer contexts.
However, FIFA’s public pages do not provide a complete compatibility matrix. There is no verified table that says, for example, whether Android can join every PlayStation mode, whether Switch and Xbox can always match together, or whether every competitive queue uses the same pool. “Cross-play” should therefore be read as the overall design direction, not as a promise that every device and every mode connect at launch.
Can a mobile player play with a friend on PlayStation?
That pairing is consistent with the game’s cross-device positioning, but the exact answer depends on the multiplayer mode and the support rules active when you play. Check the in-game invite screen and the current help documentation after both players update to the same live version. If the friend cannot be found, confirm that both accounts have completed the game’s required sign-in and that neither player is restricted to a platform-specific queue.

Can Switch and Xbox players play together?
The public information does not confirm this specific combination. Both systems are on the announced platform list, but platform availability alone does not establish that their users share every matchmaking pool. Look for a current cross-play indicator in the multiplayer menu or an official compatibility notice before promising a match to a friend on another console.
Cross-play versus cross-progression
These terms describe different features:
- Cross-play means playing a match with someone using a different device family.
- Cross-progression means saved progress or digital entitlements follow you when you move between devices.
A game can support one without fully supporting the other. For FIFA Heroes, cross-device multiplayer is publicly signposted, while full transfer of an account’s inventory has not been documented.

What FIFA ID cloud saves actually confirm
The Google Play listing says an update includes “Link your FIFA ID for 200 Gems and Cloud Saves.” This is evidence that the mobile build can associate cloud-saving functionality with a FIFA ID. Linking is worthwhile if you change phones, reinstall the app or need to recover mobile progress, provided the current app presents the same option.
That statement does not establish complete mobile-to-console cross-progression. The reviewed official information does not say whether squad levels, unlocked heroes, currencies, purchases, season-pass rewards or other inventory are stored in a format shared by mobile and console versions. Until FIFA publishes a platform-transfer policy or a detailed in-game help page, regard the mobile cloud-save feature and cross-platform progression as separate claims.

How to check support before you install
- Open the official store page for your device. Use Google Play for Android, the App Store for iPhone or iPad, and the relevant Nintendo, PlayStation or Xbox store for a console. Confirm that the listing is available in your country.
- Check the model and software requirements. Read the supported-device or system-requirements section rather than relying on the platform-family name. Requirements can differ between phones, tablets and console generations.
- Confirm the release state. A “coming in 2026” announcement is not the same as a live download in every region. Store pages may show a release date, pre-registration option or no listing yet.
- Install the latest version. Cross-play invitations can fail when players are on different builds. Update the game and the device before troubleshooting account or network problems.
- Review account prompts. If the mobile version offers FIFA ID linking, read the save and reward text shown in the app and complete the link before changing devices.
- Check the multiplayer menu. Look for the friend-search, invite and cross-play indicators available in your current version. These labels are more useful than a general announcement when determining which mode is enabled.
How to prepare for playing with friends
When everyone uses the same platform
Same-platform play is the simplest case. Have each player install the current build, sign in as required and use the game’s normal friend or invite flow. If an invite does not appear, verify that privacy settings, age restrictions or platform communication controls are not blocking it.

When players use different devices
Agree on the exact mode before anyone buys content or makes plans. One player on mobile and another on console may see different menus, event schedules or matchmaking pools even when the game supports cross-play in principle. Compare the cross-play status shown in each player’s multiplayer screen, then test with a private or friendly match if that option is available.

On mobile, link the FIFA ID from the account or settings prompt before uninstalling the old app. Record the account sign-in method and avoid starting a new guest profile on the replacement phone if you intend to recover the existing save. Cloud-save availability on mobile does not guarantee that the same data will appear on a console.
Is FIFA Heroes free to download?
The Google Play listing shows advertising and in-app purchases. That indicates a digital free-to-play route on Android rather than a required physical game purchase. The listing does not by itself establish identical monetisation, pricing or content rules on iOS, Switch, PlayStation or Xbox. Store-specific descriptions and local prices can change by region.
The same Google Play listing displayed a “5M+ downloads” tier in 2026. This is the store’s rounded download band, not a precise global player count, and it can change as the listing accumulates installations.

“My friend is on another platform, but I cannot invite them.”
First check that both players are using the latest version and have completed the required account sign-in. Then confirm that the selected mode supports cross-play and that privacy or parental controls allow external invitations. If the mode’s support is not documented, the missing invite may reflect a platform restriction rather than a connection failure.

“My progress disappeared after reinstalling.”
Make sure you returned to the same FIFA ID used for the original mobile save. A guest profile or a different account can look like a blank game even when the old cloud data still exists. Do not delete the remaining installation or create additional profiles until you have checked the account details shown in settings.
“My phone save is not visible on console.”
This is not proof that the cloud save failed. Mobile cloud saving is documented, but transfer of mobile progress and entitlements to console has not been confirmed. Check the current platform-transfer policy before assuming that heroes, currency or purchases should appear elsewhere.
“The game is listed for my platform but cannot be downloaded.”
Check the store region, console generation or device model, and the announced release status. A family-level announcement can precede a local launch, and a listing can be hidden when a device does not meet compatibility requirements.
What to expect as platform rules evolve
FIFA Heroes is scheduled across five device families, and its public presentation clearly targets play that moves from pocket devices to consoles. The details most likely to change are the rollout date in each region, supported console generations, the modes included in cross-play and the treatment of account data between mobile and console. Recheck the official FIFA Heroes site, your platform store and the game’s own help pages after major updates.
For now, the safest planning rule is simple: choose the platform that meets your device requirements, assume cross-play is available only where the current mode confirms it, and treat FIFA ID cloud saves as mobile continuity rather than guaranteed full cross-progression.
