Start with the lookup that matches your decision:

- You have an item in your inventory: use the item lookup to check which characters appreciate it and whether it is better saved for someone else or another objective.
The guide reports coverage of 34 characters and labels reactions as loved, liked, disliked, hated, or banned. It says its preference data was checked against the version 1.0 wiki and an editorial table. The label “checked” describes that guide’s dataset; it does not make the list an official game database.
What the gift reaction categories mean
- Loved: the guide’s top preference tier and its recommended choice for a character’s birthday, when you have one available.
- Liked: a useful ordinary-day option if you do not have a loved gift to hand.
- Disliked or hated: reactions that make an item a poor match for that recipient; check the recipient’s entry before giving an uncertain item.
- Banned: an item category the guide describes as something the game prevents that character from receiving. Its examples include alcohol or caffeine for some characters.
These categories help prioritize, but a list cannot account for what you have unlocked, what is scarce, or what you want to keep for another purpose.

When you have several candidates, weigh preference tier against availability. A loved gift is the guide’s birthday priority; for an ordinary day, a liked item can be a sensible fallback. If an item is difficult to obtain, costly, or useful for another objective, compare it with an easier option before using it as a present. The Fields of Mistria Gift Guide labels its data “Checked for version 1.0” and says it was last checked August 15, 2026. Another fan gift reference reports an update on August 23, 2026, but the available information does not establish that its tables supersede the first guide. A separate verification-focused source cautions that collected values may differ and that some entries lack a fixed version or official confirmation. Do not combine conflicting lists as if they were one verified set; check the in-game reaction when getting an exact match matters. Check the version 1.0 guide and its date and consult the separately updated fan reference.
