Feed the Deep is coming digitally to Nintendo Switch on February 11, 2027. The Lovecraftian underwater roguelike is the work of solo developer Luke Muscat, whose earlier design credits include Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride. Publisher CerebralFix has announced the Switch version, while Nintendo’s current product listing supplies the release date and hardware details.
When is Feed the Deep coming to Switch?
Nintendo lists February 11, 2027 as the digital release date for Feed the Deep on Nintendo Switch. The listing also includes Nintendo Switch 2, with an estimated download size of 182 MB for both systems. The date applies to the digital edition shown in Nintendo’s store listing; the available official information does not establish a physical retail release.
The game first appeared on PC on August 16, 2024, according to the developer press kit from Luke Muscat and Future Friends Games. The Switch launch therefore follows the PC release by more than two years, giving console players a later entry point into the same underwater exploration and upgrade-focused design.

What kind of game is Feed the Deep?
Feed the Deep combines procedurally generated exploration with roguelike resource management and a distinctly Lovecraftian underwater setting. Each expedition sends a diver into a cave system that is generated for the run. The objective is to gather useful resources, survive the hazards below, and return with enough value to improve future attempts.

Explore procedurally generated caves
The cave layout changes between expeditions, so routes, resources and threats are not fixed in a single memorised map. Players can choose an aggressive pace for short, high-risk dives or move more deliberately, placing markers to help navigate complex passages and remember useful locations.
Manage oxygen, darkness and wildlife
Limited oxygen makes time underwater a central survival constraint. Darkness reduces visibility, while hostile wildlife can turn an otherwise profitable route into a dangerous one. These pressures require decisions about how far to push a dive, when to retreat and which resources are worth the risk.

Trade resources for upgrades
Resources brought back from the caves can be traded for upgrades and items. That return-and-improve loop gives each expedition a longer-term purpose: even a failed or incomplete run can inform the next attempt if it produces materials or knowledge that improve the diver’s capabilities.

How Feed the Deep compares with its inspirations
The official materials identify Spelunky and Dome Keeper among the game’s inspirations. Feed the Deep shares their emphasis on procedural structure and repeated runs, but its identity comes from combining those ideas with underwater survival and Lovecraftian atmosphere.

The 182 MB figure is Nintendo’s estimate, so the final installed size can change if the publisher issues updates before launch. The listing confirms one-player support and the three standard Switch play modes, but it does not describe local multiplayer, online multiplayer or a separate Switch 2 performance mode.

Is there a physical Switch cartridge?
No physical Feed the Deep edition is established by the available official information. Nintendo’s current listing presents a digital version, and no evidenced cartridge product is identified. Buyers who want a physical copy should check for a future publisher announcement rather than assume that a retail edition will accompany the eShop launch.
What to expect before launch
Players should plan for a solo, repeatable cave-diving game rather than a conventional linear underwater adventure. The key questions each run poses are practical: how much oxygen remains, whether darkness makes the next passage too risky, whether hostile wildlife can be avoided or defeated, and whether the resources ahead justify delaying the return trip. The marker system is especially relevant for players who prefer careful route planning over rapid, improvisational dives.
Because the official listing currently supplies a date, size estimate and platform features but no review scores or performance benchmarks, those aspects should remain open until the Switch release and independent testing.
