FamilyTime is a parental-control service built around a parent app and a child app. It advertises screen-time controls, app and website restrictions, activity reports, and location tools, but advertised features do not establish how well they work—or whether each is available—on every device. Check the controls you need on your child’s operating system and confirm the current subscription and privacy terms before signing up.
How FamilyTime works
FamilyTime describes a two-app setup: a parent installs the FamilyTime Dashboard app, while the child installs FamilyTime Jr. The devices are connected by scanning a QR code. The company advertises Android and iOS support; its Apple App Store listing identifies iPhone and iPad support.
FamilyTime announced a redesign of its parent app on July 17, 2026, describing changes to navigation and access to location, screen schedules, activity, and internet filters. The announcement quotes CEO and founder Aziz Ahmad saying the company reimagined the app after listening to parents. That is the company’s description of its redesign, not independent evidence that the app is easier or faster to use.
What FamilyTime says it can do
FamilyTime’s feature pages advertise controls and monitoring across several areas. Treat these as vendor-described capabilities, not independently verified results:

The available feature descriptions do not establish that every control works the same way on iOS and Android, or that every feature is included in every plan or trial. Before relying on a particular control, confirm its availability for the child’s device and test its behavior during setup.
Does FamilyTime work on iPhone and Android?
FamilyTime advertises iOS and Android support, and its Apple listing names iPhone and iPad. That confirms the platforms the service says it supports; it does not prove feature parity or enforcement quality across operating systems. The available evidence does not settle which individual monitoring and control features are available on each platform.

Check the current Apple App Store and Google Play listings, then verify the specific controls you need in the app and subscription terms. Pay particular attention to app limits, web filtering, social activity, call and text reporting, and location or geofence alerts. Platform permissions and operating-system behavior can affect what an app can access, so do not assume a feature advertised generally will behave identically on each child device.
Plans, trial, and reported prices
FamilyTime advertises a three-day Premium trial. TechRadar’s review, dated September 10, 2026, reported that trial access excludes some features, including certain social monitoring and call or text views. Check the live trial terms to see what is included before starting.

What to verify before relying on it
A useful evaluation starts with your household’s actual devices and needs, rather than the full list of advertised features. Check these points while setting up the service:

- Match the platforms. Identify each child’s operating system and device, then confirm the relevant features are supported for that setup.
- Check the controls you need. Verify app limits, web filters, social activity, call or text reporting, and location or geofence alerts individually.
- Assess setup and day-to-day use. Note whether the QR-code pairing process is clear, whether restrictions behave as expected, and what the child sees when a limit or block applies.
- Review the reports. Decide whether the available activity history and reports provide information that is understandable and useful to your family.
- Confirm trial and plan details. Check which features are active during the trial and included in the subscription you are considering.
These are practical checks, not claims that FamilyTime has passed them. Feature pages and app listings describe what the company offers; they do not establish reliability in a particular household.

Privacy and child data
FamilyTime says it is GDPR-compliant and uses end-to-end encryption. Those are company claims; the available information does not independently verify them or establish data-retention and deletion practices, security-audit results, or the data collected by each feature.
Before installing the child app, read FamilyTime’s current privacy policy and review the permissions requested on the child’s device. Check what information is collected for the controls you plan to use, how long it is retained, and how to delete it. The vendor’s general privacy statements alone do not answer those feature-specific questions.
