Suncoast Science Center/Faulhaber Fab Lab’s Fall 2026 STEAM Saturdays begin October 3 in Sarasota. The hands-on Saturday classes serve students in grades 2–8, with projects spanning making, science, coding, design, engineering and robotics. Classes are listed at $50 each, including supplies; check the official schedule and registration portal for each class’s grade range, time and current availability.
What are STEAM Saturdays?
STEAM Saturdays are project-based classes at the Faulhaber Fab Lab, where students take part in activities, collaborative challenges or projects to take home. Sessions may use equipment such as vinyl cutters, laser cutters and 3D printers. High school students develop and teach the classes. The program is part of the center’s Saturday STEAM offerings, which run from October through April.
The fall schedule begins October 3 at the Faulhaber Fab Lab, 4452 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota. Most sessions run 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; some are scheduled for 1:30–5:30 p.m. The official schedule lists classes from October through December, as well as a winter break camp.

Who can attend, and what classes are listed?
Fall classes are grouped by grade, and families should follow the range shown for each session. Examples on the schedule include:

Robotics is listed for December 19. Its description says students may design, build and program robots using LEGO Education SPIKE, VEX or other tools; the description does not promise one specific kit for every student.

How much do classes cost?
Each STEAM Saturday class is $50, including supplies, according to the center’s 2026 schedule. The separate Winter Wonderland Camp is listed at $150 for December 28–30; it is a camp, not a Saturday class.
How do I register my child?
Families new to the Fab Lab need to set up a portal account before enrolling. The center’s listed process is:

- Create an account in the Fab Lab portal and verify it through the email sent to you.
- Add your child or children as members.
- Under Youth Memberships, select Enroll in a Program, then choose STEAM Saturdays.
- Choose a class that matches your child’s grade and review its current availability or waitlist status in the portal.
Joining a waitlist does not charge your family. For current dates, registration and waitlist details, use the STEAM Saturdays page and its registration portal.
Can families use Step Up for Students funds?
Families using eligible EMA/Step Up For Students funds should enter STEPUP during registration, then reserve the funds in EMA within 24 hours. The center says a student will otherwise be moved to the waitlist. Its policy identifies FES-UA and PEP as eligible direct-pay programs. What should students bring and wear?
The center requires closed-toe, closed-heel shoes, fitted clothing and secured long hair. Loose clothing and jewelry are not permitted. Students should bring a snack and a refillable water bottle. Required waiver and release forms are acknowledged during registration.

The published policy provides a full refund for cancellations made at least 10 days in advance and a 50% refund for cancellations made less than 10 days in advance. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are not eligible for a refund. A 5% processing fee applies beginning January 1, 2026. The center may cancel a class if eight or fewer students are enrolled; in that case, it says it will issue a full refund. Check the current cancellation terms before enrolling.
