Faker is now a Minion. T1 has partnered with Universal Products & Experiences on a merchandise collection that reimagines T1’s League of Legends starters—Doran, Oner, Faker, Peyz and Keria—as the yellow characters. The collection launched in South Korea at 11 a.m. KST on October 13, 2026.
What the T1 x Minions collaboration is
The project is a licensed merchandise collaboration between esports organization T1 and Universal Products & Experiences, the licensing division behind the Minions franchise. Rather than placing a T1 logo beside generic Minions artwork, the collection depicts five current T1 LCK starters as Minion characters: Doran, Oner, Faker, Peyz and Keria.
T1 described Universal’s approval as a special exception allowing real esports players to be portrayed as Minions. That characterization applies to this collaboration; it should not be read as a published blanket policy that Universal will approve every esports partnership.

Joe Marsh, T1’s chief executive officer, called the project “a monumental moment where competitive esports culture meets world-class entertainment.” He also said the approval demonstrated T1’s global influence.

Why the licensing decision is unusual
Minions are established entertainment characters, while Faker and his teammates are real people whose competitive identities are tied to an esports team. Combining the two requires approval for likenesses, team branding and character use. T1’s statement that Universal made a special exception explains why the collaboration attracted attention: it presents player-specific Minions instead of a standard co-branded product using only team colors or logos.
