The clearest 2026 picture is that Facebook video is growing, but the strongest numbers are platform-level disclosures rather than promises for any individual Page. Meta reported a 7% lift in organic feed and video-post views after Q4 2025 ranking improvements, double-digit year-over-year growth in video time spent in the United States, and more than 25% growth in same-day Reels surfaced compared with Q3 2025. Meta also said it paid almost $3 billion to Facebook creators in 2025, with 60% of that total going to Reels.

Those figures describe Meta’s systems and totals. They do not establish a typical view count, earnings rate, conversion rate, or guaranteed reach for your account. The India results in this article come from a Meta-commissioned IPSOS survey and apply only to the surveyed Indian audience.

Are Facebook videos now Reels?

Meta is moving Facebook toward a unified video-publishing flow. In its June 17, 2025 announcement, Meta said new Facebook videos would be shared as Reels while short, long, and Live video would continue to be supported. It also stated that “Reels on Facebook will also not have any length or format restrictions.” That is an announced product experience and rollout, not evidence that every account has identical distribution or that older video formats have disappeared. Read the announcement at Meta.

For a creator, the practical change is mainly the publishing destination and recommendation surface. You can still make a short vertical clip, a longer tutorial, or a Live broadcast; Meta’s flow may present each as a Reel. Keep the opening seconds understandable without context, add captions when speech carries the message, and design the frame so essential text remains visible on mobile. No source establishes one universally superior length or posting frequency.

What the engagement numbers actually say

Platform improvement is not an account guarantee

The 7% organic-view lift is Meta’s attribution for feed and video-ranking changes during Q4 2025. It is an aggregate company result, so an individual Page can rise, stay flat, or decline. The US time-spent disclosure likewise indicates a direction of travel without supplying an exact percentage; it cannot be converted into a forecast for your audience.

Recommendation supply is different from audience attention

The increase in same-day Reels surfaced compared with Q3 2025 measures how much content the recommendation system showed, not how long viewers watched, whether they finished, or whether they bought. Treat distribution volume, watch time, retention, shares, comments, profile visits, and downstream conversions as separate measurements in your reporting.

How much does Facebook pay creators?

Meta reported almost $3 billion in Facebook creator payouts for 2025, a 35% increase from 2024. These are platform totals, not a rate per view and not an average creator income. A large aggregate can coexist with highly unequal results because eligibility, audience location, content category, advertiser demand, and policy compliance vary.

Reels accounted for 60% of Meta’s 2025 Facebook creator-payout total; the balance went to Stories, photos, and text posts. Meta also reported more than 30% year-over-year growth in the number of creators earning over $10,000 annually. That statistic counts the change in the group above the threshold; it does not say that 30% of all creators earn that amount.

What monetization metrics to watch

Meta described its Content Monetization program as invite-only in its March 2026 creator announcement. The program discusses measures such as qualified views and earnings rate, which are more useful for an eligible creator’s dashboard than a headline platform total. Check your Professional Dashboard for invitations, policy status, qualified-view definitions, and the earnings information Meta actually reports for your account. The announcement is at Meta.

Because Meta does not publish a universal earnings-per-view figure in these sources, do not promise a dollar return from a view target. Use your own eligible-view and revenue history, segmented by format and audience, when deciding whether production costs are justified.

What the India Reels statistics mean for businesses

The India findings come from a Meta-commissioned IPSOS study of more than 4,000 respondents across 23 cities, including metropolitan, Tier 2/3, and rural locations. They are not a global Facebook benchmark and should not be presented as Facebook-only behavior. The daily-video, Gen Z, and women figures describe the surveyed groups, while the engagement and consumer-journey claims are Meta’s presentation of that commissioned work.

The results support an India-specific planning hypothesis: Reels can be a discovery and consideration channel across more than major urban audiences. They do not prove that a particular product, creative, or budget will achieve the same outcome. Replicate the test with your own geography, language, audience definition, and conversion tracking before reallocating spend.

Saugato Bhowmik, Meta’s Director for CPG and D2C, Automotive (India), characterized the findings this way: “India’s video boom isn’t urban-led anymore — it’s nationwide, cutting across GenZ, women and premium audiences. Creators, culture and commerce are converging on Reels in ways we haven’t seen before. For brands, this isn’t just a content play — it’s a always on Content-to-Commerce play. Reels are where discovery starts, trust is built, and purchase decisions are made.” That is an executive’s interpretation of the commissioned findings, not an independent causal conclusion.

Do Reels help businesses get sales?

The 81%, 66%, and 47% journey figures and the 79% purchase-after-view claim are survey-based statements, not organic conversion rates. They cannot tell you how many impressions produce a sale, what attribution window was used, or whether other marketing influenced the purchase. The Meta for Business page carrying the purchase claim redirected to a login screen during inspection, so verify its underlying study, sample, and geography before using it in a business case.

Paid Reels evidence has stricter conditions

Meta’s Reels advertising search extract reported that adding partner-enabled native Reels creative—vertical 9:16 video with audio and key messages in the safe zone—to business-as-usual campaigns averaged a 5% lower cost per result and an 11% higher conversion rate. The figures came from a Meta analysis of 15 A/B tests run from May 2022 through April 2023 in Germany, Spain, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The same extract surfaced claims of twice the delivery to the Reels placement and 34.5% lower cost per result than image ads when campaigns used the specified 9:16 creative.

Those are advertiser-side Meta claims under particular creative, placement, optimization, and test conditions. They are not organic-reach benchmarks, and they do not guarantee your cost per result. Confirm the details on Meta for Business before citing them in a forecast.

Which Facebook video metrics should you track?

For organic creators and Pages

  • Reach and impressions: separate the number of people reached from repeat exposures.
  • Three-second and average watch time: use them to identify weak openings and pacing problems, while remembering that a view definition is not the same as a completed viewing.
  • Retention and completions: compare videos of similar subject and length rather than chasing a universal benchmark that Meta does not provide.
  • Shares, saves, comments, and follows: distinguish passive exposure from actions that extend distribution or build an audience.
  • Qualified views and earnings rate: use these when your account has access to Content Monetization, following the definitions shown in your dashboard.

For advertisers

  • Cost per result and conversion rate: compare Reels creative with a defined control, budget, audience, optimization event, and attribution window.
  • Placement delivery: report how much spend and how many impressions reached Reels, rather than assuming delivery equals effectiveness.
  • Incremental outcomes: use experiments or holdouts where possible to separate Reels’ contribution from other channels.

Always label whether a result is organic or paid, identify the date range, and keep geography, audience, format, and objective attached to the number.

A practical decision framework

  1. Choose the business outcome. Awareness requires reach and qualified attention; lead generation requires a measurable lead event; sales require reliable conversion and revenue tracking.
  2. Match format to the job. Use short Reels for fast discovery, longer video for demonstrations or education, and Live when real-time interaction is central. Meta’s current publishing flow supports all three.
  3. Build native creative. Start with the value proposition, use vertical framing when the placement calls for it, include audio and readable safe-zone text, and make the first seconds work for viewers who do not know your brand.
  4. Run a controlled comparison. Hold audience, objective, spend, and attribution window steady while testing the creative or placement. Do not compare a Reels campaign optimized for purchases with an organic awareness post and call the difference a format effect.
  5. Review account-level evidence. After a meaningful window, compare retention, qualified views, cost per result, revenue, and repeat behavior with your own prior baseline.

What these statistics do not establish

  • There is no representative global daily Facebook-video viewer count in the figures above.
  • The sources do not provide a universal average view count, completion rate, earnings per view, best video length, or best posting time.
  • Meta’s platform totals and commissioned surveys are not independent audits of every creator or advertiser.
  • India results cannot be generalized to other countries without new evidence.
  • Advertiser tests cannot be used as promises about organic reach or revenue.

The soundest use of these numbers is directional: Facebook is emphasizing video and Reels, creator payments are substantial at the platform level, and businesses have reasons to test native video. Your decision should rest on clearly defined goals and the results your own analytics can verify.
