To move a manual-mode AI Builder site into WordPress, first prepare a WordPress 6.5-or-later destination with its domain propagated, then start the export from the AI Builder editor and authorize the connection with a WordPress application password. The export can move supported page content and media, but it does not recreate the site’s design or transfer several important features, including store data and SEO settings.
Prepare the WordPress destination
Set up the WordPress site before starting. The destination must run WordPress 6.5 or higher, and its domain must already be propagated and linked to that site. The export instructions also call for these settings and precautions:
- Set the permalink structure to Post name.
- Configure application-password access in WordPress Tools.
- Deactivate the destination site’s plugins in bulk before exporting.
- Keep a copy of any source content you may need. Deleting the builder-based site is permanent, and its content cannot be restored.
Export the content from the AI Builder editor
- Open the AI Builder editor, open the sidebar ellipsis menu, and select Export content to WordPress.
- Enter the domain already linked to your WordPress site, then select Start export.
- When redirected to WordPress, create a new application password for the export connection and approve the connection.
- After the export finishes, select Go to WordPress site. Revoke the application password once the transfer is complete.
What transfers—and what you must rebuild
The built-in export can transfer regular pages, text, images, and other files. The Help Center cautions that “Not everything can be exported.” Its instructions list these exclusions:

Plan to recreate the site’s appearance and excluded functionality in WordPress. Check the imported pages and media, and restore any settings or features that matter to the new site.

Fix an application-password export error
If the export reports that application passwords are not enabled, open the WordPress dashboard and enable them through its Tools menu. Then return to the AI Builder editor and start the export again. After a successful transfer, revoke the export application password.

The built-in export described above is specifically for WordPress. For another platform, the manual-transfer guidance is to collect the site’s text, download its images and other files, organize those materials, and recreate the pages and design on the new platform. Review links, images, and formatting before publishing. Ecommerce store data, including products, is not included in this manual process either.
