The EWT EWTP9 is a cooling-only portable air conditioner listed at 2.6 kW, with three fan speeds, a dehumidifying function and a 24-hour timer. JB Hi-Fi lists it as suitable for rooms up to 18 m², but that is retailer guidance—not an independent performance result. No EWTP9-specific measured cooling score is established in the available evidence, so its capacity and features are useful for screening the model, not proof that it will cool a particular room well.
What the EWT EWTP9 is
The EWTP9 is an Australian-market, mobile-type portable air conditioner from EWT, a brand associated with Glen Dimplex Australia Pty Ltd in the electrical registration record. It provides cooling only; the listed dehumidifying function does not make it a heating-and-cooling unit. JB Hi-Fi lists a 2.6 kW cooling capacity and a room-size guide of up to 18 m² (JB Hi-Fi product listing).
The 18 m² figure is the retailer’s suitability guidance, not a guarantee of comfort or an independently validated room-size result. Actual cooling depends on conditions such as heat load and room layout; the available sources do not provide a model-specific test that quantifies those effects.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to interpret its cooling performance
A 2.6 kW rating is a published capacity figure, not an independent measure of how quickly or evenly the EWTP9 cools a room. CHOICE’s discussion of small portable air conditioners warns that units in this category can have borderline cooling performance and may suit only small rooms. CHOICE includes the EWTP9 among small models, but the available material does not give it a model-specific test score or measured result (CHOICE portable air-conditioner discussion).
That category-level caution should not be mistaken for a negative EWTP9 test verdict. If cooling performance is decisive, look for a current independent test of this exact model and compare its results with the conditions and room size you expect to use. The retailer’s 18 m² guidance alone cannot establish that it will be adequate in a warm, sunny or otherwise demanding space.
