Evos (Evolutionary Operating System, Inc.) emerged from stealth on October 14, 2026, with $9 million in pre-seed funding to develop autonomous software operators for freight, logistics, manufacturing and other physical-industry businesses. Its Workhorse platform learns a company’s operating decisions from experienced staff, starts under human approval, and takes on more work only after its decisions consistently match the team’s judgment.
What Evos announced
The round was co-led by Uncork Capital and Field Ventures, with participation from Crosslink Capital, Utopia Capital Management, Sandwith Ventures and angel investors. Evos says the funding will support Workhorse, a platform intended for small and midsize businesses that need software to perform operational functions inside the systems they already use.
The company’s central premise is that much of an operation’s most valuable knowledge is tacit. Urav Shah, Evos founder and CEO, said: “The most capable system in many of these businesses is the person who has been there 20 years, and what they know has never been written down.”
Rather than asking a general chatbot to follow a prompt, Evos says it observes how subject-matter experts handle a defined workflow, captures the decisions and exceptions involved, and turns that behavior into an operator that can execute the same function.

How an Evos operator learns and gains autonomy
- Observe a defined task. An operator watches a bounded process such as answering broker calls, chasing missing paperwork, reconciling invoices or building freight loads.
- Work behind an approval gate. The operator proposes or performs actions while employees review each case. Humans can approve, modify or reject a decision.
- Use feedback as training signals. Approved decisions indicate that the operator matched the team’s judgment; corrections and rejections identify behavior that needs to change.
- Prove performance in live work. Evos expands autonomy only after the operator demonstrates that its decisions agree with the company’s established way of working.
- Escalate unfamiliar cases. Cases outside the operator’s demonstrated competence continue to require human approval instead of being handled automatically.
Shah describes the intended outcome this way: “An Evos operator learns the job from these people, improves on it, and proves it can match them before it takes on any work by itself.” That approval-first design is meant to preserve human control while the system learns, rather than switching an untested agent directly into production.
Deployment timeline Evos claims
Evos says a business can spend about one hour with its subject-matter experts, have a working operator the next day and see measurable results within a month. Its launch announcement says a process that might take a consultant or implementation partner nine to 18 months to move from discovery to deployment can instead move to deployment in 24 hours. Those are company claims, not an independently audited implementation study.

- BUILD A METAL TRACKED ROBOT: Assemble the stainless-steel chassis, suspension, tracks, sensors and UNO R3 control system into a working robot; ideal for home STEM projects, homeschool lessons, coding clubs and classroom builds
- EXPLORE FIVE INTERACTIVE MODES: Switch between FPV driving, IR remote control, obstacle avoidance, line tracking and auto follow; create patrol routes, black-line courses, maze challenges and navigation experiments
- DRIVE FROM THE ROBOT’S VIEW: The camera and ESP32-WROVER Wi-Fi module stream live FPV video to a compatible phone, while the adjustable servo-mounted camera lets you change the viewing angle during driving and inspection
- START WITH BLOCK CODING, ADVANCE TO ARDUINO IDE: Use the ElegooKit app for visual programming, then modify motor speed, sensor thresholds, servo movement and navigation logic in Arduino IDE as coding skills grow
- COMPLETE NO-SOLDER PROJECT KIT: Includes the UNO R3 controller, metal chassis, tracks, camera, ultrasonic and line-tracking modules, motors, servos, IR remote, 7.4 V battery, tools and illustrated instructions; recommended for ages 10+
The approach is aimed at existing operational environments. The operator is expected to work in the business’s current transportation-management, enterprise-resource-planning and other systems, rather than requiring a company to replace those systems first.

Evos reported one freight-brokerage deployment in which an operator audited less-than-truckload carrier invoices against a transportation-management system. During two months it made nearly 3,500 decisions at 97% accuracy. In the following five weeks, the work covered more than $600,000 of invoice value. Evos supplied those figures; the available account does not describe an independent audit methodology or a control-group comparison.

Why Evos is targeting physical-industry operations
Evos is selling to small and midsize operators in freight, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, retail and other businesses where work crosses software systems and physical processes. The company argues that retirements can remove undocumented judgment from these organizations. Its about page cites nearly 2 million unfilled jobs and 10,000 people aging out of legacy-sector work every day, but does not document the methodology behind those figures; they should be treated as company statistics rather than a labor-market measurement established by the announcement.
Richard Kerby, a partner at Field Ventures, said Evos operators “learn the judgment behind how a business runs, work within existing systems, and take ownership of entire operational functions.” The important distinction is that Evos is positioning the product around decision execution and institutional knowledge, not merely text generation.

How the approach differs from common automation categories
| Dimension | Evos Workhorse | General copilots | Traditional RPA | Vertical software |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How behavior is learned | Observed employee decisions plus approval, correction and rejection signals | Usually prompts, documents and user instructions | Explicitly configured rules and screen or API steps | Product-specific workflows and configuration |
| Primary output | Execution of a defined operational function after proving competence | Recommendations, generated content or assisted actions | Repeatable scripted actions | Transactions and processes built into that product |
| Control model | Human approval first; autonomy expands by demonstrated agreement; unfamiliar cases escalate | Varies by product and deployment | Rules determine when actions run; exceptions need separate handling | Permissions and workflow rules defined by the vendor and customer |
| Integration target | Existing TMS, ERP and other business systems | Connected applications, depending on the product | Existing interfaces and APIs where supported | Usually the vendor’s own data model and integrations |
| Evidence available here | Company-reported freight results and traction figures | Not established for a specific product | Not established for a specific product | Not established for a specific product |
This is a category-level comparison, not a performance ranking. The reported Evos figures apply to particular workflows and cannot be generalized to every industry or operator.
Can Evos replace experienced industrial employees?
The available announcement does not establish that it replaces workers. Its design depends on experienced employees to demonstrate the task, review early decisions and define what counts as acceptable judgment. In practice, the near-term use case described is transferring repeatable operational knowledge into software and reserving people for approvals, exceptions and work the operator has not mastered.
Whether staffing falls, changes or grows will depend on the process, error costs, regulatory requirements and how a customer redeploys the time saved. Evos has not published a complete safety, reliability or workforce-impact study.

What prospective customers still need to verify
- Accuracy by workflow: Ask for a confusion matrix or error breakdown, not only an aggregate percentage, and define which errors require mandatory human review.
- Coverage definition: Clarify how “70% autonomous workload coverage” is calculated and which cases were excluded.
- Integration scope: Confirm supported TMS, ERP and communications systems, data-access permissions, logging and rollback procedures.
- Escalation behavior: Test unfamiliar, contradictory and incomplete cases before allowing unattended execution.
- Commercial terms: Workhorse’s general availability was described as later in 2026; public pricing and a full service-level commitment were not provided in the announcement.
- Governance: Establish who approves training feedback, how corrections are versioned and how a customer can suspend an operator.
Availability
Evos says Workhorse will become generally available later in 2026. The October 14 launch established the financing and product direction, but did not publish a full pricing schedule, integration audit or independently verified reliability benchmark.
