The safest way to play Eternal Anima is to plan the whole projected turn, not to chase the largest damage number. Future Sight shows when enemies are expected to act and what those actions should do. You then choose attacks, defence, delay, or cancellation commands and watch the forecast change. A good beginner party keeps an answer to the current weakness, preserves a defensive or order-control option, and uses Wade’s inherited classes to solve the matchup in front of you.
Eternal Anima is an unreleased, single-player, turn-based JRPG from Marvelous. The information below reflects the announced mechanics and pre-release guidance available on October 17, 2026; exact command names, party-size rules, damage formulas, and Break thresholds may change before launch.
What Future Sight shows
Future Sight is an active combat forecast rather than a static initiative bar. It displays an enemy’s expected place in the turn order, the action it intends to take, its target, and the projected result. The forecast updates as you select commands, so your job is to shape the final sequence into one the party can survive and exploit.
The official Steam description summarizes the system as using Future Sight to “foresee enemy actions and strategically rewrite the future.” Marvelous’ own description likewise presents it as a way to predict enemy timing and outcomes, then delay or cancel dangerous moves. The practical implication is that the first plan you see is not the plan you must accept.

Read the forecast as a sequence
Do not look only at the next enemy icon. Scan the complete visible sequence and note which party member is targeted, whether that character can survive, and what happens immediately afterward. A move that appears harmless may leave a character unable to carry out the next important command, while a modest defensive action may preserve the entire following turn.
Forecasts are projections, not promises of a fixed script
Future Sight changes when your selected commands change the order or remove an enemy action. Re-check it after every command that could alter timing. Treat the final projected sequence as the information that matters; the opening forecast is only the starting state.
A repeatable turn-planning routine
Use this routine until reading the timeline becomes automatic:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Scan the full timeline. Identify every enemy action shown before the party’s next safe opportunity, not just the first icon.
- Mark the first unacceptable result. Note the enemy, target, expected damage or effect, and whether the targeted character can still perform the next planned action.
- Classify the threat. A projected result is manageable if the target remains able to execute the plan, dangerous if it consumes the character’s next turn or creates a losing position, and unacceptable if it is likely to defeat the character or collapse the party’s sequence.
- Test an order-changing answer. Try a weakness attack, defence, delay, cancellation, or a different command order. Do not commit merely because the first damage number is high.
- Read the forecast again. Check whether the enemy moved later, lost its action, changed target, or still reaches the same threat.
- Confirm the first enemy action, target, and result. Commit only when the projected opening is survivable and leaves the party with a useful next step.
This process favors a safe final timeline over immediate damage. If a lower-damage move prevents an enemy action or pushes it behind the party, it can create more effective damage over the next several actions than a larger hit that leaves the target exposed.
How to build a beginner party
No authoritative universal party composition has been published. Exact party-size rules and the complete list of available commands remain undisclosed, so a fixed “best team” would be speculation. Build for coverage and flexibility instead: retain at least one dependable way to answer the weakness shown by the current enemy, one defensive option, and one way to influence turn order when the forecast becomes unsafe.
Use roles, not a permanent roster formula
| Role to cover | What it solves | Beginner decision rule |
|---|---|---|
| Weakness access | Creates pressure against the enemy’s current vulnerability and may improve the order. | Keep a reliable damage type or inherited skill that matches the forecasted weakness; do not assume one type will remain effective. |
| Protection | Reduces the consequence of a hit that cannot be prevented immediately. | Use defence when the projected damage is survivable but the party needs to preserve a character for the next sequence. |
| Order control | Moves an enemy later or removes its projected action. | Choose delay or cancellation when it changes the final timeline, even if the command deals little or no damage. |
| Adaptation | Provides another class, skill, or damage approach after the enemy changes its defence. | Use Wade’s inherited options to cover the matchup rather than locking the whole party to one damage plan. |
The table describes functions to cover, not confirmed character jobs or named classes. The pre-release material does not establish every class, resource cost, or status interaction.
Build around the problem Future Sight presents
At the start of an encounter, inspect the weakness and the first dangerous action together. A weakness attack is the obvious choice only when it also improves the timeline. If it leaves the targeted character unable to survive the next hit, first use defence or order control, then attack when the forecast is stable. Conversely, if a weakness hit delays the enemy enough to remove the danger, it may be the best defensive move even when its raw damage is moderate.

Keep a second plan ready
Enemies may gain weakness defence after being hit. When that happens, repeating the same move can lose both damage and tempo. Rotate to another available damage type, switch to a different inherited class, defend while waiting for a safer opening, or use delay or cancellation. The correct response depends on the new forecast; there is no confirmed universal rotation for every encounter.
Weaknesses, Break pressure, and weakness defence
When a weakness hit is worth taking
Use a weakness attack when it does at least one of the following:
- It exploits the currently displayed vulnerability and advances the fight without exposing the target.
- It pushes the enemy later in the sequence, giving another party member a safe action.
- It contributes to Break pressure while keeping the final projected order manageable.
The value is therefore a combination of damage, order, and future access to actions. A hit that deals more damage but leaves an enemy acting first can be inferior to a smaller weakness hit that moves the enemy behind the party.
What Break means for planning
The available guidance indicates that weakness hits can build Break pressure. A successful Break opportunity can create time for follow-up actions, but the published material does not provide fixed thresholds for every enemy. Do not plan around an assumed number of hits or a guaranteed boss rotation. Watch the actual forecast and any in-game Break feedback instead.

Weakness defence is a signal to reassess, not proof that the encounter has become impossible. Once the enemy reduces the value of the previous weakness, ask three questions:
- Is the projected enemy action still safe to receive?
- Does another party member or Wade’s inherited toolkit provide a different damage type?
- Would defence, delay, or cancellation create a better opening than forcing a resisted attack?
If the answer to the first question is yes and no better option is available, defending can be correct while the party waits. If the answer is no, prioritize changing the order or preventing the attack before attempting to rebuild damage pressure.
Using Wade’s Psychometry system
Wade’s Psychometry reads memories in objects and lets him inherit classes and abilities. Marvelous describes this as a way to combine inherited options into a personal style rather than follow one permanently fixed build.

Choose inheritances for coverage
Before committing to a class combination, identify what the current matchup lacks. If the forecast shows a weakness you cannot answer, seek an inherited class or ability that supplies that damage type. If the party can already exploit the weakness but cannot survive the next action, favor an inheritance that adds protection or order control. This is a matchup decision, not a ranking of one class above all others.
Change the plan when the enemy changes
Psychometry is most useful when treated as a toolbox. An enemy’s weakness defence, a new target pattern, or a dangerous turn-order shift can make the original inheritance less useful. Reconsider Wade’s available classes instead of continuing with a build simply because it worked in the previous encounter.
Do not assume unconfirmed system details
The pre-release information does not establish the number of inherited slots, the cost of changing classes, the full ability list, or whether every class can be combined freely. Those details should be learned from the final game rather than inferred from the Psychometry concept.
Three timeline examples
These examples illustrate the decision method, not fixed encounter scripts or guaranteed damage values.
Example 1: The enemy will act first and the hit is unacceptable
Future Sight shows an enemy attacking a low-health character before that character’s command. A large attack does not move the enemy or cancel the action. Choose a cancellation or delay command if available; otherwise use defence or another order-changing action. Re-read the timeline. The successful result is the one in which the target survives and the party retains a usable next action, even if the selected move deals no damage.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Example 2: A weakness hit moves the enemy behind the party
The forecast shows a weakness attack landing before the enemy’s strike and shifting the enemy later. Select it, then check whether the enemy’s action now follows the party’s safe actions. In this case, the weakness hit is both an offensive and defensive choice because it changes who acts first.
Example 3: Weakness defence removes the original advantage
An enemy initially responds well to one damage type, then gains weakness defence after being hit. Repeating that attack may no longer improve the order. Test a second damage type or Wade inheritance. If neither is available and the projected hit is survivable, defend while preserving the character for the next opening; if it is not survivable, use order control before attacking.

Common beginner mistakes and corrections
Choosing the largest number first
Symptom: The party deals strong immediate damage but an enemy still acts first and defeats or disables the intended target.
Correction: Compare the complete final forecast. Give priority to preventing the dangerous action or moving it later.
Reading only the next icon
Symptom: The opening hit is survivable, but a second enemy action arrives before the party can recover.
Correction: Scan every visible action and judge whether the targeted character can still execute the next plan.
Repeating one weakness forever
Symptom: Damage falls after the enemy gains weakness defence, while the timeline does not improve.
Correction: Rotate damage types, change Wade’s inherited class, defend, delay, or cancel. Reassess after each selection.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Correction: Defence is useful when the projected hit is survivable but would otherwise leave the target unable to execute the next sequence. Its value is measured by the actions it preserves.
Building a permanent “best” team
Symptom: A setup that worked against one enemy cannot answer another weakness or timing pattern.
Correction: Keep the party flexible and let Future Sight determine which inherited class, damage type, or defensive tool is needed.
Assuming unreleased mechanics are settled
Symptom: A plan depends on a specific Break threshold, initiative formula, resource cost, or command name that has not been published.
Correction: Treat those details as unknown until Marvelous or the final game documentation confirms them. Use the visible forecast and actual combat feedback instead.

A compact pre-battle checklist
- Which enemy action is the first result Future Sight marks as dangerous?
- Who is targeted, and can that character survive while still performing the next plan?
- Does the displayed weakness also improve the order or Break pressure?
- What defensive, delay, or cancellation option changes the projected sequence?
- Which alternate damage type or inherited class is available if weakness defence appears?
- After selecting each important command, does the final timeline remain safe?
Apply the checklist every turn until the sequence becomes instinctive. Eternal Anima rewards the player who controls when actions happen, not simply the player who selects the strongest-looking attack.
