Why the capacity is listed as 2.8 or 2.9 litres
There is no single capacity figure across the published pages. Essteele’s own product page gives 2.8 L. CHOICE’s review listing states 2.9 L, and a Bunnings listing also uses 2.9 L in its title. The listed pages do not explain whether this comes from different measuring methods, rounding, a regional specification or a listing error.

Yes. Essteele explicitly lists induction compatibility, along with electric and gas cooktops. That makes the saucepan suitable for kitchens that use an induction hob now or may switch to one later.
Induction compatibility is a product specification, not a measured claim about heating speed, temperature stability or how evenly your particular hob will heat the pan. Induction systems differ in coil size, power control and pan-detection behaviour. Keep the base centred over the active cooking zone and follow the hob manufacturer’s cookware guidance.
The aluminium body alone would not establish induction suitability, so the relevant point is Essteele’s stated compatibility for this model. Ceramic nonstick construction: benefits and limits of the evidence
A ceramic nonstick interior is designed to reduce sticking and make cooking and cleaning easier than with an uncoated metal surface. Essteele describes this coating as PFAS-free and says the pan is designed for durability and scratch resistance.

That sentence is Essteele’s product-page wording. It is not an independent test conclusion. The CHOICE page is a review listing with specifications, but its listed content does not show a test score or detailed results for release performance, durability, scratch resistance, heat distribution or safety.
Accordingly, this review cannot promise that the coating will remain nonstick for a particular number of years, that it will outperform another ceramic pan, or that the saucepan will heat evenly on every cooktop. Those outcomes depend on construction, burner size, heat settings, utensils, cleaning and frequency of use, none of which are documented by a comparative test.
Lid and handle design
The tempered-glass lid lets you monitor a simmer without removing the cover. Glass can also become hot and can be vulnerable to thermal shock, so avoid moving a hot lid directly onto a cold, wet surface unless the manufacturer’s care instructions permit it.

Because the saucepan includes a lid, allow clearance for the handle and lid knob on your hob and in your storage area. The published 20 cm measurement describes the nominal pan size; it does not provide the exact outside diameter, height or lid-clearance dimensions needed for a tight cupboard or a compact oven.

If you want to maximise the service life of a ceramic surface, check Essteele’s care sheet for detergent, rack-position and utensil guidance.
