If your Epson projector says “No Signal,” first select the HDMI input connected to your source, make sure that source is on and sending video, and reseat the cable at both ends. If the screen says “Not Supported,” check whether the source’s resolution and refresh rate are compatible with your exact projector model. Work through the checks below before changing model-specific settings or resetting the projector.
Start with the input, source, and HDMI connection
- Select the right input. Use the projector’s Source or Source Search button, or its remote, to select the HDMI port that the device is connected to. The button name and source list differ by model. Wait a few seconds after selecting it. Epson recommends checking the selected input first. Epson projector support
- Confirm the source is sending video. Turn on the laptop, streaming device, console, or other source and start playback or display content. A powered-on device may still need to be actively outputting video.
- Reseat both ends of the cable. Ensure the HDMI plugs are firmly connected to the source and projector.
- Bypass equipment in the middle. If the signal passes through a receiver, switch, splitter, dock, adapter, or extension, connect the source directly to the projector where practical. If the direct connection works, an intervening link may be involved; this test alone does not identify which device or connection is at fault.
If a laptop is connected but there is no picture
Enable the laptop’s external display output. Depending on the computer and operating-system version, this may mean choosing a duplicate or mirror display mode. Epson’s EH-LS650 guide gives Windows duplication and Mac mirroring instructions, but keyboard shortcuts and menu labels can vary. If the steps in that guide do not match your computer, follow the current display instructions for your operating system. Epson EH-LS650B/EH-LS650W support and guide
Restart the devices and try another HDMI cable
Turn off the projector and source, then turn them back on and check the picture again. If the issue remains, try a shorter HDMI cable or another known-good cable. Epson includes shorter-cable substitution in its troubleshooting guidance. Choose a replacement suited to the source’s signal format and the cable run; changing cables is a way to isolate the connection, not a guarantee that the cable is the cause.
For the EH-LS650B/EH-LS650W guide’s 18 Gbps examples, including 4K at 60 Hz, Epson specifies a premium high-speed HDMI cable. That recommendation applies to the signal scenario in that guide, not to every Epson projector. Check your model’s supported-format table before choosing a cable for a particular resolution and refresh rate. Epson EH-LS650B/EH-LS650W support and guide

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
“Not Supported” means check the signal format
“Not Supported” is different from a simple “No Signal” message: check whether the source is sending a resolution and refresh frequency that the projector accepts. Compare the source’s output settings with the supported formats in the manual for your exact model. Epson’s EX11000 guide, for example, directs users to check the signal and the projector’s resolution and frequency limits. Epson EX11000 support and guide
Only change HDMI equalizer or EDID settings if your model has them
Epson projectors do not all use the same HDMI settings or menu labels. Depending on the model, a manual may refer to “HDMI IN EQ Level,” “HDMI EQ Setting,” or EDID. Do not assume these options are present or use instructions written for a different projector.

HDMI IN EQ Level
The EX11000 guide provides an HDMI IN EQ Level adjustment for certain “Not Supported” cases and advises choosing Auto for thumb-sized streaming devices. A separate Epson support page says a restart may be needed after changing HDMI IN EQ Level. Follow those steps only if your projector’s own manual includes the setting and applies the instruction to your case. EX11000 guide · Epson EX11000 support
EDID and bandwidth
The EH-LS650B/EH-LS650W guide says to check that the source is not sending more bandwidth than the cable or projector supports and mentions choosing the correct EDID setting if available. Use the supported-format table and menu instructions for your model rather than transferring those settings to another Epson projector. Epson EH-LS650B/EH-LS650W support and guide

Check compatibility before buying an adapter
Confirm what video output the source device requires and what the projector accepts before adding an adapter. One Epson guide covering a particular model says its HDMI port does not support MHL. That does not establish that all Epson projectors lack MHL support; check the manual for your model and the source device’s requirements. Epson projector support
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Reset or seek service only after the basic checks
Some Epson guides place a projector settings reset after the other troubleshooting steps. Reset options and menus vary, so use the exact model’s manual and understand which settings will be affected before proceeding. If the source and projector are connected directly, the input and signal format are correct, and a known-good cable does not restore the image, contact Epson support or an authorized service provider for model-specific diagnosis. Those symptoms alone do not establish a particular hardware failure.
