enterprise-fixer is a Python command-line package whose author describes it as a local, privacy-first code auditor and auto-fixer. But its PyPI description also names Groq and Google Gemini in a multi-model fallback design. That leaves the key question unanswered: whether source code or diagnostic data is sent to hosted services. Treat “local” as an unverified claim until you inspect the package and confirm its data flow.
What enterprise-fixer says it does
Hirdesh Gagan’s DEV Community article frames the project as a command-line tool for auditing code and applying fixes. The author’s stated problem is that developers spend time debugging, finding hidden logic errors and addressing performance bottlenecks, while copying non-public code into browser-based tools can be tedious and raise privacy concerns. That is the author’s rationale, not evidence that the package detects or fixes those issues reliably.
The PyPI listing describes enterprise-fixer as an “Enterprise AI Incident Auto-Fixer Engine.” Its package description claims an autonomous, multi-tiered agent system that classifies system errors, routes them by severity, and generates code patches with root-cause analysis. It also says the design uses a multi-model fallback architecture involving Groq and Google Gemini. These are project claims, not independently verified capabilities.

The package is published on PyPI under the name enterprise-fixer. PyPI metadata lists Python 3.8 or newer as a requirement. The latest release shown on the listing is version 1.0.1, dated October 3, 2026; its source distribution is 1.4 kB and its wheel is 1.7 kB, for 3.1 kB across the two release files. Those small sizes are a reason to inspect the artifacts and their dependencies, not proof of a problem.

The author’s DEV article gives this installation command:
pip install enterprise-fixer
Installing a package is not the same as establishing that it is safe to run against a private repository. Review the release files, dependencies, package source and configuration before use.

Does “local” mean source code stays on your machine?
The available descriptions do not establish that. The author calls enterprise-fixer local and privacy-first, while PyPI names Groq and Google Gemini as providers in a fallback architecture. That raises a concrete data-flow question: does the tool send source code, prompts, error logs, filenames or other diagnostic information to either provider? The published descriptions do not say whether hosted requests are optional, what data they contain, or whether a local-model-only mode exists.

What to verify before scanning a codebase
- Data sent: Trace the code paths that construct model requests. Check whether they include file contents, snippets, stack traces, prompts, paths or environment details.
- Provider behavior: Confirm whether Groq and Google Gemini calls are enabled by default, how fallback works, and whether either provider can be disabled.
- Scope: Find out which files and languages the tool scans, how it chooses files, and whether repository size or exclusions are configurable.
- Changes made: Determine whether it only reports findings or writes patches automatically. Test in a disposable checkout, review every change, and keep version control or another rollback path available.
- Package contents: Inspect the wheel and source distribution, dependencies, entry points and install-time behavior before running it with access to sensitive files or credentials.
- Evidence of quality: Look for reproducible tests, independent security or privacy review, maintenance activity and published benchmarks. The available sources do not provide an independent audit, adoption figures or performance measurements.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—support
PyPI establishes that a package named enterprise-fixer is listed, identifies Hirdesh Gagan as its author, specifies Python 3.8 or newer, and shows version 1.0.1 dated October 3, 2026. Its description establishes that the project claims an incident-classification and patch-generation design involving Groq and Google Gemini. The author’s article presents the project as local and privacy-first.
Those facts do not establish that the tool works as advertised, keeps code local, or is suitable for a particular repository. No independent benchmark or privacy audit is available in these sources. The DEV article page was not directly accessible for verification, so its framing should be read as the author’s stated pitch rather than as independently confirmed implementation detail.
