Enpass may suit people who want to choose where their password vault is stored, but that flexibility comes with responsibility: you must understand your sync and backup setup and keep your master password safe. Enpass advertises apps for major desktop and mobile platforms, password and passkey tools, autofill, and imports. Its encryption, audit, and certification details are vendor claims, not findings independently verified here.
What Enpass offers for personal use
Enpass describes itself as a password and passkey manager. Its personal product page lists apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, plus password generation, autofill, multiple vaults, breach alerts, and password-health features. It can also store information such as payment cards, licenses, documents, and notes. Enpass says users can import login data from spreadsheets, browsers, and other password managers. Those advertised capabilities make Enpass a plausible candidate for someone moving from another manager or using a mix of computers and phones. The listed platforms do not establish that every feature works identically on every operating system; check the version and feature details for the devices you use.

Enpass says personal vault data stays on your devices unless you choose to sync it through a personal cloud-storage account. Its security page names iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and WebDAV; its personal page also lists Box and Nextcloud. Enpass says data is transmitted encrypted and that encryption and decryption happen locally. Details are on the Enpass security page and personal product page.

This arrangement gives you a say in where a synced vault copy resides, including the option to keep data on a device rather than opt into cloud sync. The trade-off is that choosing and maintaining sync and backups becomes part of your setup. The available information does not establish how reliably syncing works in practice or compare the security of the named storage providers.
What Enpass says about security and account recovery
Enpass says it uses AES-256 encryption and PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA512 with 320,000 rounds. It also says the master password, or a derivative of it, is not stored by Enpass, and that a forgotten master password cannot be recovered. The no-recovery policy makes preparation important. Choose a master password you can reliably retain, and make a deliberate plan for protecting any vault backups you create. A backup does not replace the master password needed to unlock an encrypted vault.

Enpass also states that its security and compliance practices underwent an independent SOC 2 Type II audit and that it is ISO/IEC 27001 certified. The cited page makes those claims, but an audit report, its scope, and a detailed independent assessment were not available for inspection here. Treat the statements as vendor-reported assurance rather than as a substitute for reviewing the underlying materials.

Who should consider Enpass?

Verdict: Is Enpass worth it?
Enpass is worth considering if control over vault storage is more important to you than having storage and recovery handled for you, and you are prepared to manage sync, backups, and your master password. Its advertised platform coverage, import options, and password and passkey tools may fit personal use, but the no-recovery policy is consequential. Decide only after checking the current plan terms and the device-specific features you need.
