Yes, Enderal can be played in VR, but not through a native VR mode in the regular Steam Enderal SE release. Which Enderal VR route works?
The documented setup runs Enderal SE content through Skyrim VR using the community-made Enderal VR patch. It is distinct from installing and launching the ordinary Steam Enderal SE release: the patch page says that release is based on Skyrim SE and cannot work with the patch. Buying or launching Steam Enderal SE alone does not add VR support.

Because the setup relies on Skyrim VR, it also requires a PC VR headset and motion controllers; the patch instructions say the headset and controllers must be switched on or the game will not start. The sequence below reflects the patch author’s instructions, not an independently tested walkthrough. Follow the author’s current page if it differs from these version-specific steps.
- Start with a clean Skyrim VR installation and create a fresh Mod Organizer 2 instance in Skyrim VR mode.
- Install SKSE VR into the Skyrim VR folder.
- Add Enderal SE 2.0.11 through MO2, following the patch page’s notes about which Skyrim Special Edition requirements to omit.
- Install the VR dependencies: SkyUI VR, JContainers VR, MoreHUD VR and Skyrim VR Tools. The page also lists VR Address Library as a requirement.
- Install the Enderal VR patch in MO2.
- Switch on the headset and controllers before launching the game.

How reliable is the patch, and what is its support status?
The patch is unofficial. Its author states, “SureAI does NOT provide any support for this.” The page reports that many bugs encountered while using the Skyrim VR engine with Enderal had been fixed, and its changelog mentions quest, animation and scene fixes. That is not a promise of a bug-free playthrough or proof that every quest, character form, third-party mod or hardware setup works.
The page lists patch version 3.3 and a last update of May 15, 2022, and refers to Enderal 2.0.11. Those details establish the page’s stated scope, not compatibility with every newer Enderal release or evidence of current maintenance.
