Ember & Blade is not released yet, so its PC requirements can still change. The current Steam and Epic Games Store listings mark the full game as coming soon. A separate official demo launched on July 16, 2025. For Windows, the published minimum is a 64-bit Windows 10 (version 2004 or newer) PC with 8 GB of RAM, a four-core/eight-thread processor such as an Intel Core i7-6700, Intel Core i3-10100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, and a graphics processor in the GTX 1050 Ti/Radeon RX 570/Arc A380/Radeon 680M/Iris Xe class with 4 GB of VRAM. That tier targets 720p at 30 frames per second on the lowest settings. The recommended configuration moves to Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, a Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600, and an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT for a 1080p/60fps High target.
Use the checks below to compare your own CPU, GPU, memory, Windows edition, DirectX version and available storage. The figures are publisher targets from the 2025 listing, not independent benchmark results.
Ember & Blade release status and what the requirements mean
The full Windows release does not have a launch date in the current storefront information. Steam and Epic Games Store both show the base game as “Coming soon.” The official demo is a separate listing released on July 16, 2025, and its requirements should not be treated as an unchangeable specification for the final game.
That distinction matters when deciding whether to upgrade. A PC that meets the minimum row matches the publisher’s stated launch threshold, but it is not guaranteed to deliver a particular frame rate in every scene. The minimum target is 720p resolution at 30fps on the lowest preset. The recommended row is designed for 1080p at 60fps on High, including peak monster waves. Those are targets supplied by LINE Games Corporation, rather than measurements from an independent laboratory.

Official Windows system requirements
Steam’s 2025 Windows table gives separate minimum and recommended configurations. The minimum column is the compatibility floor; the recommended column is the practical target for 1080p/60fps on High.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Publisher performance target | 720p, 30fps, Lowest settings | 1080p, 60fps, High settings, including peak monster waves |
The processor line is unusual because it lists several generations rather than one exact equivalent. Compare your chip’s actual model and thread count rather than assuming that a newer product number always performs the same. Four cores and eight threads is the stated floor; a processor with fewer threads does not meet the published minimum even if its clock speed looks high.
No Windows storage number appears in the captured Steam requirements. Check that the installation drive has enough free space when the final listing provides a figure; do not infer the 10 GB shown for the macOS demo as a Windows requirement.

What each requirement controls
CPU: simulation, game logic and frame-time consistency
The CPU runs game logic, enemy behavior and other work that becomes especially important during large encounters. Ember & Blade’s recommended note explicitly includes peak monster waves, so the recommended Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 class is a more useful reference for busy scenes than the minimum chips. Check both model and thread count. A four-core/eight-thread processor satisfies the published minimum category, while the recommended processors provide more headroom for sustained 60fps play.
GPU and VRAM: resolution, effects and texture capacity
The graphics processor has the largest influence on resolution and visual settings. The minimum list spans a discrete GTX 1050 Ti and RX 570 as well as integrated or integrated-style options such as Radeon 680M and Iris Xe. Steam also states that 4 GB of VRAM is required for the Windows minimum GPU tier. If your adapter reports less dedicated memory, it does not match that published floor; integrated adapters may report shared system memory differently, so read the adapter model and memory fields together.

RAM: capacity and integrated-graphics sharing
Eight gigabytes is the general minimum and 16 GB is recommended. Steam specifically recommends 16 GB when using integrated graphics. An integrated GPU takes part of its memory from system RAM, leaving less for the game and Windows, so an 8 GB laptop can be constrained even when its graphics model appears on the minimum list. Dual-channel memory, laptop power limits and background programs can also change performance.
Operating system and DirectX
The minimum is 64-bit Windows 10 version 2004 or later, while the recommended row specifies 64-bit Windows 11. Both rows require DirectX 12. A 32-bit installation, an older Windows 10 build or a system that cannot expose DirectX 12 does not satisfy the listed requirements.
How to check a Windows PC before installing
Record your hardware first, then compare every field with the minimum row. The following paths use current Windows labels documented by Microsoft.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
- Open Settings > System > About. Record the Windows edition and version, the processor name, installed RAM and System type. Confirm that System type says a 64-bit operating system. The processor name lets you compare against the listed Intel and AMD models; installed RAM must be at least 8 GB for minimum play or 16 GB for the recommended target.
- Check DirectX with dxdiag. Search Windows for
dxdiagand open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. On the System tab, record the DirectX Version. It must report DirectX 12. - Identify the active graphics adapter. In dxdiag, open the Display tab and record the graphics adapter name and reported display memory. If the computer has both integrated and discrete adapters, compare the discrete GPU first and note which adapter the game is configured to use. A laptop can switch adapters depending on its power mode.
- Check free storage. In File Explorer, open the drive where you intend to install the game and inspect its available space. The Windows listing does not state a required capacity, so use the final storefront figure when it is published rather than borrowing the 10 GB value from the macOS demo.
- Compare as a complete set. A PC matches the published minimum only when its operating system, CPU/thread count, RAM, GPU/VRAM and DirectX version all meet the corresponding entries. Meeting the GPU requirement while missing 64-bit Windows or DirectX 12 is not a full match.
You can also use Windows’ Task Manager to observe which GPU is active while a game runs: press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, choose Performance, and inspect the GPU graphs. This is a diagnostic aid, not a replacement for the model and DirectX checks in dxdiag.
Can Ember & Blade run on integrated graphics?
Possibly, provided the integrated adapter is one of the models named by Steam and the rest of the minimum configuration is met. The published minimum list includes Radeon 680M and Intel Iris Xe, and it also lists Intel Arc A380, which is a discrete entry-level GPU rather than a typical integrated adapter. This is a compatibility floor, not a promise that every laptop with the same graphics family will hold 30fps.
Laptop implementations vary substantially. The same GPU name can run at different power limits, cooling systems and memory configurations. Dual-channel RAM generally gives an integrated GPU more bandwidth than a single-channel arrangement, while a battery-saving mode can reduce performance. Updated graphics drivers and closing browser tabs or other GPU-using applications may help, but they cannot turn a below-minimum system into a guaranteed match.
For an integrated-graphics laptop, treat 16 GB of system RAM as the practical target because Steam calls it out specifically. Use the lowest preset and 720p expectation associated with the minimum row. If your goal is 1080p/60fps High, the recommended discrete RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT class is the safer reference.

- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
- GPU model and VRAM. Determine whether each adapter reaches the minimum list and whether the Windows minimum’s 4 GB VRAM requirement is met. GPU headroom is the main differentiator for the recommended 1080p/60fps target.
- CPU model and thread count. Confirm at least four cores and eight threads for the minimum tier, then compare each chip with the recommended Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 class for sustained performance during large waves.
- RAM capacity. Eight gigabytes is the floor; 16 GB is recommended and particularly important with integrated graphics.
- Operating-system edition and bitness. Verify 64-bit Windows 10 version 2004 or newer for minimum compatibility, or 64-bit Windows 11 for the recommended configuration.
- DirectX 12 support. Confirm it in dxdiag rather than relying on a retailer’s generic “gaming” label.
- Free storage. Check the actual installation drive and compare it with the final Windows listing once a storage figure is published.
For two otherwise similar PCs, favor the one with the stronger discrete GPU and 16 GB of RAM. For laptops using integrated graphics, memory configuration and cooling can make the apparent GPU match less predictable.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to upgrade when a PC falls short
If RAM is below 8 GB
Increasing memory to at least 8 GB addresses the stated minimum; 16 GB is the recommended level and the better choice for integrated graphics. Check the laptop or motherboard’s supported capacity and whether a second module is needed for dual-channel operation.
If the GPU is below the minimum
A graphics upgrade is the direct route to more rendering headroom, but desktop power-supply capacity, case clearance and available connectors must be checked first. Aim for one of the listed minimum-class GPUs for 720p/30fps, or the RTX 3060/RX 6600 XT class for the recommended target. Do not judge suitability by VRAM alone; the GPU model and its performance tier both matter.
If the CPU misses the thread-count floor
A processor with fewer than four cores/eight threads does not meet the published minimum. On a desktop, a CPU replacement may also require a compatible motherboard and memory. On most laptops, the processor cannot be upgraded, making a newer system the realistic option.
If Windows or DirectX is incompatible
Install the latest supported Windows updates and recheck the version in Settings and dxdiag. A 32-bit operating system cannot be converted into a 64-bit installation by changing a setting; it requires a supported 64-bit Windows installation and compatible hardware. DirectX 12 availability depends on the operating system and graphics hardware, so an older adapter may require replacement rather than a software tweak.

Common reasons a qualifying PC may still perform poorly
- Wrong GPU selected: A laptop may launch the game on integrated graphics while a discrete adapter is available. Set the game to use the high-performance GPU in the system’s graphics settings and verify the active adapter in dxdiag or Task Manager.
- Thermal or power throttling: Thin laptops can reduce CPU and GPU speed when hot or unplugged. Test while connected to AC power, use the manufacturer’s performance mode and keep air vents clear.
- Single-channel or insufficient RAM: Integrated graphics share system memory. Upgrading to 16 GB in a dual-channel configuration can remove a bandwidth bottleneck, although the published requirement does not promise a fixed frame rate.
- Out-of-date drivers: Install current drivers supplied for your exact graphics adapter. If a new driver introduces instability, use the laptop or GPU manufacturer’s supported package rather than an incompatible generic driver.
- Background applications: Browsers, recording tools and overlays consume CPU, RAM and GPU resources. Close unnecessary programs before judging performance.
- Settings above the target: The minimum specification is tied to 720p and Lowest settings, not 1080p High. Start at the target associated with your hardware tier before raising resolution or effects.
macOS demo requirements
The official demo listing provides a separate Apple Silicon specification. It does not describe Intel Mac support.
| Component | Minimum demo requirement | Recommended demo requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Processor and graphics | Apple M1 CPU/GPU | Apple M2 Pro or Apple M4 |
| Operating system | macOS 14 | macOS 15 or later |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 10 GB | 10 GB |
| Target | The listing specifies the hardware floor | 1080p/60fps |
These values come from the demo listing, not a confirmed final-game Mac specification. An Apple Silicon Mac with an M1 and 8 GB meets the demo’s minimum as published; an M2 Pro or M4 with 16 GB matches its recommended tier. Keep at least 10 GB available for the demo installation.
Controller support and practical setup
Ember & Blade has full controller support, and the developers recommend playing with a controller. A controller is optional from the published information, not a PC hardware requirement. If you prefer mouse and keyboard, confirm the final game’s control options after launch; if you use a controller, connect it before starting the game so Windows can assign it consistently.
Bottom-line decision guide
Choose the minimum tier only if you are comfortable with 720p, 30fps and Lowest settings, and your system meets every listed requirement. For 1080p/60fps High, target the recommended Windows 11, 16 GB, Core i5-12400F/Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 3060/RX 6600 XT class. Integrated graphics can be compatible when the exact Radeon 680M or Iris Xe class is present, but 16 GB RAM, dual-channel memory, adequate cooling and the correct power mode matter. Because the full game remains listed as coming soon, verify the storefront requirements again before purchase or a major upgrade.
