Choose Wix if you want hosting, the site builder, and plan-level business features in one managed subscription. Choose Elementor if you are building on WordPress and want its visual editor, while accepting responsibility for hosting, a domain, and any additional plugins or services.
There is no defensible universal price winner. Wix publishes location-dependent annual prices for a hosted service, while Elementor publishes editor tiers but the current accessible pricing page does not show the amounts. A fair comparison requires pricing the complete setup you will actually run, for the same period and the same features.
Elementor vs Wix: the short answer
These products do not sell exactly the same thing. Wix is a hosted website platform: its paid plans combine the editor, hosting, storage, collaboration limits, and business capabilities in one account. Elementor is a visual editing system for WordPress. An Elementor subscription buys an editor tier; your WordPress hosting, domain, and other services are separate unless you deliberately select a bundled hosting arrangement.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
That difference changes both the checkout price and the work involved after purchase. A small portfolio owner who does not want to configure WordPress will usually find Wix’s packaging simpler. A WordPress user who needs Elementor’s editing workflow, dynamic content, or WooCommerce tools may prefer Elementor even after adding hosting to the budget. Those are packaging-based recommendations, not results from an independent usability test.

What each platform actually includes
Wix is a managed, hosted service
Wix supplies hosting with every paid tier listed on its plans page. You create and edit the site inside the service rather than selecting a separate WordPress host. The free tier also lists hosting and the editor, but it does not list the paid plans’ business feature bundle.
Wix says, “Create your site for free and choose a plan when you’re ready.” That is the vendor’s description of its offer, not a promise that every business feature is available on the free tier. Paid tiers add storage, collaborators, payments, and ecommerce capabilities as you move up the ladder.
Elementor is an editor used with WordPress
Elementor’s plans are licenses for one or more WordPress sites. The current structure lists Essential for one site, Advanced Solo for one site, Advanced for three sites, and Expert for 25 sites. The license tier determines which Elementor features you can use; it does not, by itself, establish the price of WordPress hosting, a domain registration, payment processing, premium plugins, email, backups, or other services your site may need.
A bundled Elementor hosting plan can be priced as a complete setup, but treat it as an alternative to independently selected WordPress hosting. Do not add both to one comparison unless you really intend to pay for both.
2026 plan and price snapshot
The Wix figures below are the amounts displayed on its plans page for annual subscriptions at the time of review. They are monthly-equivalent reference prices, paid in full when the annual subscription is purchased. Wix states that prices and currencies vary by location, taxes depend on the billing address, and the displayed amount is not a universal quote.

| Service and tier | Displayed price | Published inclusions | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wix Free | Free | Hosting and the editor are listed. The paid-tier business bundle is not listed. | Whether the free feature set meets your domain, storage, and business requirements. |
| Wix Light | $17.77 per month on the displayed annual reference | 2 GB storage, two collaborators, hosting. | Local currency, taxes, full annual payment, renewal price, and whether a domain promotion applies. |
| Wix Core | $29.77 per month on the displayed annual reference | 50 GB storage, five collaborators, basic ecommerce and payment acceptance, hosting. | Whether “basic” ecommerce covers the catalog, checkout, and payment methods you need. |
| Wix Business | $39.77 per month on the displayed annual reference | 100 GB storage, ten collaborators, standard ecommerce and payment acceptance, hosting. | Which standard-store functions are included in your location and current plan terms. |
| Wix Business Elite | $159.77 per month on the displayed annual reference | Unlimited storage, 100 collaborators, advanced ecommerce and payment acceptance, hosting. | The exact advanced ecommerce features and renewal terms at checkout. |
| Elementor Essential | Amount not stated on the accessible current pricing page | One site and Theme Builder. Popup Builder, custom code/CSS, and ecommerce features are excluded. | The current annual quote for your region and the separate WordPress operating costs. |
| Elementor Advanced Solo | Amount not stated on the accessible current pricing page | One site; marketing integrations, dynamic-content capabilities, WooCommerce Builder, PayPal and Stripe integrations, and other advanced features are included. | The license quote plus hosting, domain, and any services not supplied by Elementor. |
| Elementor Advanced | Amount not stated on the accessible current pricing page | Three sites and ecommerce features. | The current annual quote and whether three sites matches your intended projects. |
| Elementor Expert | Amount not stated on the accessible current pricing page | Twenty-five sites and ecommerce features. | The current annual quote and the cost of hosting each WordPress site. |
Wix’s paid plans advertise a free domain for one year with select plans and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Confirm both offers in the checkout for your location; neither should be assumed for every tier or renewal.
How to compare the real cost
Use a complete-cost worksheet instead of comparing a Wix monthly-equivalent number with an Elementor license in isolation. The following sequence keeps the comparison honest.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Define the site. Record whether it is a portfolio, a brochure site, or a store; the number of sites; required storage; collaborators; forms; popups; custom code or CSS; dynamic content; and the ecommerce functions and payment methods you need.
- Pick the minimum qualifying Wix tier. For example, a site needing basic ecommerce and payment acceptance must be evaluated against Core or a higher tier, not Light. A high-collaborator or advanced-store requirement may move the comparison to Business or Business Elite.
- Get the local Wix checkout total. Check the currency, tax, amount charged immediately for an annual subscription, first-term promotions, domain eligibility, and renewal rate. The public figures above are not a substitute for that quote.
- Pick the minimum qualifying Elementor tier. Essential is limited to its published feature set. Advanced Solo is the relevant starting point for one professional or ecommerce WordPress site when you need the included integrations, dynamic content, or WooCommerce Builder. Use Advanced or Expert only when the site count justifies it.
- Add the WordPress stack. Include the selected hosting plan, domain registration, required paid plugins, commerce services, backups, and any email or security services. If you use bundled Elementor hosting, price that bundle rather than adding an unrelated hosting plan.
- Normalize the period. Compare one year with one year, or the same multi-year period, and distinguish recurring renewals from one-time promotions. A monthly-equivalent display is not the same as a monthly cancellation option when the annual amount is charged in full.
- Compare like with like. A basic Wix portfolio and an Essential WordPress site may be comparable; a Wix Core store and an Elementor brochure site are not. If one option includes a service the other requires you to buy separately, put that service in the second option’s total.
This method can produce different winners for different readers. The available plan information does not support one global “cheapest” result.
Feature-by-feature differences that affect the decision
| Decision area | Wix | Elementor with WordPress |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Included in all listed paid tiers; hosting and the editor are also listed on Free. | Separate from the editor license unless you choose a bundled Elementor hosting setup. |
| Editor model | Site editing and hosting are delivered as one managed platform. | Elementor is the visual editor inside a WordPress installation you select and maintain. |
| Storage and collaborators | Published limits rise from 2 GB and two collaborators on Light to unlimited storage and 100 collaborators on Business Elite. | Comparable storage and collaborator limits are not stated in the current Elementor plan details; they depend largely on the WordPress setup. |
| Custom code and CSS | Availability is governed by Wix’s platform and plan capabilities. | Essential explicitly excludes custom code/CSS; higher tiers include the advanced feature set described by Elementor. |
| Popup building | Use the Wix feature set available to the selected plan. | Essential excludes Popup Builder; do not assume it is included at the entry tier. |
| Dynamic content | Use Wix’s own content and business tools. | Advanced Solo is described as adding dynamic-content capabilities and marketing integrations. |
| Commerce | Core lists basic ecommerce and payment acceptance; Business lists standard ecommerce; Business Elite lists advanced ecommerce. | Advanced Solo, Advanced, and Expert include ecommerce features. Advanced Solo includes WooCommerce Builder plus PayPal and Stripe integrations. |
| Number of sites | Plan choice applies to the Wix site in that account. | Essential and Advanced Solo cover one site, Advanced covers three, and Expert covers 25. |
Who should choose Wix?
Choose Wix for a managed launch
Wix is the better fit when you want one provider to deliver the editor and hosting and you do not want to assemble a WordPress stack first. The Free tier gives you a way to start without a paid subscription, while Light is aimed at a small site with 2 GB of storage and two collaborators. If the project needs payment acceptance or basic ecommerce, Core is the first listed tier with those capabilities.
Choose Wix when collaboration limits are easy to map
The published collaborator counts make staffing straightforward: two on Light, five on Core, ten on Business, and 100 on Business Elite. Match the count to people who genuinely need access rather than buying a higher tier solely for a theoretical future team.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

Choose Wix when the business feature is part of the plan ladder
Wix exposes a progression from basic to standard to advanced ecommerce. That makes it useful for a reader who can state the required store level and wants the hosting and builder packaged with it. Confirm that the exact catalog, checkout, payment, and operational functions you need are included; the labels alone do not define every store requirement.
Who should choose Elementor?
Choose Elementor when WordPress is already your platform
If your organization has a WordPress site, hosting relationship, or WordPress-specific workflow, Elementor can add visual editing without moving the site to a hosted builder. The trade-off is that you remain responsible for choosing a host, registering a domain, and maintaining the surrounding WordPress installation.
Use Essential only when its exclusions are acceptable
Essential covers one site and includes Theme Builder, but it excludes Popup Builder, custom code/CSS, and ecommerce features. It can fit a basic site whose design needs stop inside those boundaries. Buying it and then discovering that a required popup, custom style, or store function is excluded creates a second purchase and a migration decision.
Use Advanced Solo for one professional or ecommerce site
Advanced Solo is described for a single professional or ecommerce website and adds marketing integrations, dynamic-content capabilities, WooCommerce Builder, and PayPal and Stripe integrations. Those inclusions make it the meaningful Elementor tier to evaluate for a one-site store, but they do not establish the store’s complete cost: hosting, the domain, WooCommerce-related services, payment-provider fees, and other plugins still need their own line items.
Use Advanced or Expert for multiple sites
Advanced covers three sites and Expert covers 25. Compare the license expansion with the hosting cost for each WordPress site. A multi-site license can be sensible for an agency or owner with several projects, but it is not automatically cheaper if you will operate only one site.

Which is better for an online store?
Neither label is enough to answer that question. First list the store’s requirements: number and type of products, checkout and payment methods, shipping or tax workflows, staff access, content templates, popups, custom code, and dynamic product or customer content.
On Wix, Core is the first displayed tier that lists basic ecommerce and payment acceptance; Business lists standard ecommerce; Business Elite lists advanced ecommerce and payment acceptance. Select the tier whose published capability level matches the operation, then verify the exact features at local checkout.
On Elementor, Advanced Solo is the one-site tier with published ecommerce features, WooCommerce Builder, and PayPal and Stripe integrations. The WordPress host and commerce stack remain separate decisions. A store owner should therefore compare the complete Wix plan against the complete WordPress/Elementor stack, not Wix against the Elementor license alone.
Setup and maintenance responsibility
What you manage with Wix
- Selecting the plan and handling annual billing, taxes, and renewal.
- Working within the storage and collaborator allowance of that tier.
- Checking which domain promotion and business features apply in your location.
- Choosing a higher plan when storage, team access, or ecommerce capability outgrows the current one.
What you manage with Elementor and WordPress
- Selecting compatible WordPress hosting and a domain.
- Installing and updating WordPress, Elementor, themes, and other plugins.
- Providing backups, security, performance configuration, and recovery procedures through your host or chosen services.
- Paying for any premium plugins, commerce services, email, or payment-provider charges not included in the selected license or host.
- Keeping the license count aligned with one, three, or 25 sites.
This responsibility difference is often more important than a small first-year price gap. A managed Wix plan trades some platform assembly for a consolidated service; WordPress with Elementor trades that consolidation for a setup you control more directly.

Common comparison mistakes and how to avoid them
Comparing a license with a hosted plan
An Elementor price, when you obtain the current quote, is not automatically a complete website price. Add hosting and the other services required to run the site. Conversely, do not add a separate host to a Wix plan that already includes hosting.

Treating displayed Wix prices as global
The $17.77, $29.77, $39.77, and $159.77 figures are the page’s displayed annual-subscription references. Wix says location and currency affect pricing, annual subscriptions are paid in full, and taxes depend on the billing address. Verify the local checkout and renewal terms before committing.
Carrying forward an old Elementor price
Elementor’s current accessible pricing page shows the tier structure but not the price amounts. Do not reuse an older review’s number or a number from a comparison article as a current quote. Obtain the live annual price for your region and record the date.
Buying on a feature label alone
“Ecommerce,” “standard,” and “advanced” describe levels, not every workflow. Check payment methods, product handling, staff access, storage, custom code, dynamic content, and integrations against the actual plan details.
Assuming a promotion is permanent
A free domain for one year and a money-back guarantee can affect the first term. They do not prove the renewal price or continued eligibility. Record recurring costs separately from introductory benefits.
A practical decision framework
| If your priority is… | Start by evaluating… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The simplest all-in-one launch | Wix Free or Light | Hosting and editing are packaged together; move up when storage, collaborators, or business features require it. |
| A small business site that accepts payments | Wix Core | Core is the first listed tier with basic ecommerce and payment acceptance. |
| A standard or advanced Wix store | Wix Business or Business Elite | The published ladder separates standard from advanced ecommerce and raises storage and collaboration limits. |
| One WordPress site with basic visual editing | Elementor Essential | It includes Theme Builder for one site when its exclusions do not block your design. |
| One WordPress professional or ecommerce site | Elementor Advanced Solo | It adds dynamic content, marketing integrations, WooCommerce Builder, and PayPal and Stripe integrations. |
| Several WordPress sites | Elementor Advanced or Expert | Three-site and 25-site licenses align the editor entitlement with a multi-site portfolio. |
| A completely managed operating model | Wix first | You avoid selecting a separate WordPress host, but must accept Wix’s plan limits and platform model. |
| Control over the WordPress stack | Elementor plus a separately priced host | You choose the surrounding hosting and services, while taking on their cost and maintenance. |
What to check before you pay
- Confirm the plan’s current price in your country, currency, and billing period.
- Write down the amount charged today and the expected renewal amount.
- Check whether taxes are added at checkout and whether the annual charge is paid in full.
- For Wix, confirm domain eligibility, storage, collaborators, payment acceptance, and the exact ecommerce level.
- For Elementor, confirm the license’s site count and feature inclusions, then add hosting, domain, plugins, and commerce services.
- Make sure your chosen tier includes every required popup, custom-code/CSS, dynamic-content, form, and payment capability before designing the site.
- Keep a copy of the terms and quote so a future price or feature change does not surprise you.
Bottom line
Wix is the practical default for a reader who values a hosted, consolidated service and can map the project to its storage, collaborator, payment, and ecommerce tiers. Elementor is the better fit for a reader committed to WordPress who wants its visual editor and is prepared to price and manage the rest of the WordPress stack. Compare complete setups for identical requirements and the same period; the available 2026 figures do not justify declaring either platform universally cheaper.
