“Glitching” can mean a frozen screen, a distorted picture, a No Signal message, or a sound-and-picture mismatch. Start by checking whether the problem appears on every TV source or only one channel, input, or connected device. That distinction helps you choose a safe next check; it does not by itself diagnose a hardware fault.
First, identify what is glitching
Note what you see and when it happens. Does the TV stop responding, show lines or a shaking picture, lose a broadcast channel, or fail only with a connected device? Also check whether the built-in TV interface and other sources work. Element groups its guidance by platform and symptom, so the correct reset or menu instructions depend on your model. Element’s support center is organized around those different cases.
- Only one HDMI device or input fails: check the source device, selected input, and cable connection.
- Broadcast channels fail: check whether the issue affects all channels, then investigate reception or a provider outage.
- The TV freezes or several sources show the same problem: try a basic power cycle and check connected devices.
- Lines, bars, or shaking appear: check for local interference and, if using an antenna, reception conditions.
If the TV says “No Signal” or an HDMI source glitches
Work through the connection before changing TV settings. These checks apply when the problem is isolated to an external source; a cable replacement cannot fix a weak broadcast signal, an internal software problem, or a panel fault.

- Turn on the source device, such as a console or streaming player.
- Use the TV’s input/source control to select the HDMI input where that device is connected.
- Check that the cable runs from the device’s output to the TV’s input, and firmly reseat it at both ends.
- Try another HDMI port on the TV. If the problem remains, test with a known-good cable; a High Speed HDMI cable is a reasonable diagnostic or replacement choice for an HDMI connection.
- If the issue is on broadcast channels instead, see whether all channels are affected. Check antenna connections and reception, and ask the provider whether there is an outage before resetting the TV.
Element’s No Signal guidance recommends checking the signal and connected setup. Its HDMI guidance focuses on the input, source device, and connections.

If the TV freezes or stops responding
Element’s manual recommends disconnecting the TV’s power cord for a few minutes, reconnecting it, and trying the TV again. This is a basic power reset, not proof that the underlying problem has been repaired.
- Unplug the TV from power and leave it disconnected for a few minutes.
- Reconnect power and check whether the TV responds normally.
- Check other connected electronic devices as well. If the problem happens only while using one device, that device or its connection may be involved.

If the picture has lines, bars, or shakes
An Element manual lists nearby electrical appliances or power tools as possible sources of interference for horizontal or vertical bars and a shaking picture. It also identifies weak station signal and antenna position as checks for reception problems. Test rather than assume interference is the cause.
- Temporarily switch off or move nearby electrical appliances and power tools, then check whether the picture changes.
- If you are watching broadcast TV, inspect the antenna connection and try repositioning the antenna.
- Compare another channel or source. If the distortion occurs only with one source, check that source and its connection; if it appears across sources, note that pattern for support.
Element’s picture-shaking guidance describes interference and reception checks. Those observations help narrow the next step but do not establish an internal hardware diagnosis.

If there is picture but no sound, or sound but no picture
Check the selected source and its connections first, especially when the symptom occurs with an external device. Confirm that the TV is using the matching input for that device and that its video and audio connections are seated correctly. Element also recommends power cycling and model-specific reset checks for these sound-and-picture symptoms.
For sound with no picture or picture with no sound, use the guidance that matches your TV platform and model. Menu labels and reset paths are not universal, so do not follow a reset instruction intended for a different Element TV.

When to reset the TV—and when to contact support
Use a factory reset only after the symptom-specific checks, and only with instructions for your exact model and platform. Element’s support materials describe more than one route, including menu-based factory reset and a physical reset option on some models. A factory reset can clear user configuration, so consult the matching manual before proceeding.

- Open the matching manual or platform-specific guidance through the Element support center.
- Follow only the reset procedure specified for that model. Do not assume that a button combination or menu path applies to every Element TV.
- If the problem remains after the relevant checks and model-specific reset, contact Element support through its current support center.
Element’s published troubleshooting material provides procedural steps, but it does not establish a general glitch rate, repair cost, or likelihood that a particular symptom means a failed component. If the issue persists, describe exactly which sources are affected and which checks changed—or did not change—the result.
